After a storm and internet outrage, I got a new router in 2023, to come and change the router info, I was quoted $129 plus parts just to reconnect my cameras to WiFi. I was then told the camera was broken and I needed a new one. It was not, but I agreed, because it's just a camera, how much could that cost? After that service call to replace a camera the technician just wasn't smart enough to replace, and had to come out multiple times, also showing up with the wrong parts more than once, I was charged about $1000. The camera was also installed very poorly, and had to be redone by another technician because it looked terrible. When I objected to this charge, I was talked into a maintenance plan to avoid these charges, even though they were not my fault. I hadn't planned to move, and I saw no other way out of this, so I agreed. I should not have. About half way through a 3 year contract, I moved out of state. I called to cancel my contract. Instead of thanking me for the 6 years I was their customer, I was told I had to pay the remaining $1550 of my contract, even though they do not service my new location. I explained my situation, how I was forced into this contract over a terrible experience to avoid a ridiculous charge, and I was told they could not do anything. I asked for at least a discount given the circumstances. I was told they did a cost analysis, and could not offer a discount. I was also asked to contact the new owners of my home, and see if they wanted to take over my contract. I refused to do that. This company only cares about money, and their technology is extremely outdated. I would never recommend them to anyone. They have numerous negative Google reviews for a reason. read more

System works but I had to research solution myself to fix communication error. Three calls to Owen did not offer this fix and they wanted to send a repair person. Easy fix to unplug transformer and replug. read more

WARNING! Read the fine print! They can raise their monthly fee any time without warning and they do! they raised my bill $199.99 to $229.99 last April and now $241.99 all without any notification. Cannot cancel service for 5 years without paying for the full 5 years. I should have picked up on that in the contract; I suggest a lawyer read it before you sign. read more

I found them to be very reliable, and very good to work with. I had a situation on a bill which I felt was in error. After talking to the people, they were very kind and also very professional and made a quick adjustment that totally satisfied me 100%. I would highly recommend this company to anybody that has a security system in need of replacement or repair. read more

stay far away from owens security - we paid them $5000 upfront for a state of the art system - this system has been giving us issues for 6 months straight.. this company has fraudulent and disgusting practices - including not informing us that we were entering into any contract with them. CONSUMER BEWARE! Read these reviews and take them seriously! It will save you so much time & money. Being a business owner myself, I have NEVER, and I mean NEVER written a bad review. I just feel like they can be too subjective and are really only a snap-shot in time. Maybe someone had a bad day, maybe the person leaving the review is in a bad mood, etc. However, given that we have been dealing with Owen's Security DISsolutions for over a year now and have yet to reach a fair, balanced solution is absolutely MIND BLOWING to me. I'm over 50 and spent my life in customer service and as mentioned opening and running multiple different businesses and I have never come across a company that uses such under-handed, sleazy and fraudulent tactics in my life. They went as far as removing money from our bank account without any permission or notification whatsoever. They presented a bogus contract to the Attorney General's Office with initials that we did not write. They claim we signed a 36 month agreement when we only agreed to 12. They told us everything would be included, all services - even down to coming out here and changing the batteries. (I remember that because I thought what a waste of gas. I am completely capable of changing my own batteries), And then when their old used equipment didn't work they wanted us to pay for them to fix it! WHAT?! What ever happened to standing behind your product. False alarms, faulty equipment, inability to recovery from power outages without a house call etc., you name it they charged it. Even though we paid our 12 month agreement in advance we finally pulled the system completely out after only 2.5 months. Chalked up the loss as lesson learned and went on about our lives only to have them send us bills for service calls that 1.) were supposedly included, 2.) for their own broken or faulty equipment, and 3.) when we didn't pay they simply helped themselves to the money in our account without permission. My alarm system become out of service due to a power failure to our neighborhood. Once power was restored our alarm system didn't activate. I called to request a service call, was informed the first available date was 12 days out. I have no alarm system which I depend upon while away from home. I'm disappointed in this company . read more

Horrible. The security system constantly malfunctions and they charge you every time they come out to "fix" the issue. Good luck getting out of the contract. Worst security company I have ever had. If anyone decides to do a class action, I'm in. read more

Stay away from this company! My previous alarm monitoring company was bought out by Owen earlier this year. Soon after their taking over I received a letter from them telling me to fill out and return a written monitoring contract along with my bank account information for them to withdraw their monthly monitoring fee directly from my account. I called and questioned if there we other payment options and was told "no, automatic debit from my bank account was my only option. Because of this, I asked that they cancel my monitoring service and release the cellular unit so I could use my equipment with another company. Well, they cancelled the monitoring service but did not release the cellular unit. After numerous phone calls to the office asking for them to release the cellular unit, only to get a "we will check into that and get back to you" every time, I finally had someone put me on hold only to come back and tell me that her manager said that Owen does not release their units and that I would have to purchase a new system from a new company... it's their policy! read more

After 30 years of Security Alarm Service my account was acquired by Owen Security Solutions. I called to cancel my service because I sold my home. I have a credit on my account of $278.10 and was told that I could not get a refund only transfer my service to my next house or try and get the new owners to use the service. I am NOT in a contract with this company and have always paid my bill before it was due. The customer service department asked how my credit was so much and I explained you do not send out statements or statements that say no payment needed at this this so I kept paying them through online banking and never heard from the company. Now that I have cancelled the service they will not give me a refund. This service is just like any other power, water, phone, insurance company and when you have a credit due they give you a refund when you cancel the service.The fact that they do not send out statements and let you continue to give them money is very disheartening that this is what has become of companies. Most companies would love to have honest people paying their bill ahead of time instead of in the arrears. Please beware of this companies business practices. read more
