I had a very good experience at Owen Automotive and I'll definitely go back there for anything my car needs from now on. It's located in one-block-long "downtown" Elmore. There's no regular "waiting room" inside, but you can sit in the office; however, you might rather go outside while your car is being worked on, and take a pleasant walk, or find a place to sit and read or have lunch, etc. It's very handy to the post office, which is right across the street. In fact, in just that one block of Rice Street there are three or four restaurants, at least a few antique shops, a bank, and the police department, among other things - plus there's a park with benches to sit on under big shade trees within sight of Owen's; and the library is just a block or two away, not to mention there is a beautiful old-fashioned residential neighborhood to walk through on sidewalks under large shade trees. It all makes for a very pleasant (and safe) place for a woman alone (like me) to take her car. I had gone before for my car's "yearly checkup" to Bill's Auto & Tow in Oak Harbor, but they seem to be out of business now. I almost didn't even try to call Owen Automotive because when I followed a link to their website, I found it (the website) no longer existed, and I guessed they were probably out of business, too. But no. They're still there, on Rice Street in Elmore, at least as of the end of May, 2016. I highly recommend them. read more
