I ordered the Old School Wrap, which is basically a breakfast burrito (Gangster Style - which comes with beans and jalapenos). I asked for the burrito without sausage. The waitress alerted me that I could replace the meat with veggie sausage, so I took her up on that offer. It was absolutely delicious! The icing on the cake was the homemade hot sauce that she recommended. It was like a salsa verde but it was soooo good that I asked for some with my doggy bag. My son and husband were also pleased with their meals - pancakes and bacon. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and will be sure to visit again when we come back to Destin. Sidebar - I left my keys at the restaurant and didn't realize it until I was 3 hours away!! LOL! I called the restaurant to see if they could ship them to me and they kindly obliged. I coordinated with Joshua (the manager) and he was able to ship them out the very next day. Big shoutout to Josh and Christina for their hospitality and kindness. They don't skim on the lobster. Each piece has a half of a lobster tail. The crab beignets are crispy on the outside and filled with crab. The dinner menu is not big but I think I have tried everything except the ahi tuna which my son gets consistently and he loves. Our latest visit I got the shrimp and grits for the first time and it was amazing. The mushrooms on the grits complemented the dish well. The staff is welcoming gives great recommendations. We were kept waiting in the front until exactly 5:00 p.m., even though it was obvious that tables on the back deck were already available. During conversation, we mentioned the long wait, and he explained that it is apparently "protocol" to delay seating larger parties until after 5:00 so they do not receive happy hour pricing. If that is truly company policy, I find it extremely disappointing and dishonest. We felt manipulated instead of welcomed. The food quality was also far below what we have experienced in past years. The crusted snapper that was recommended to us was terrible and had to be sent back. My grandson's burger was also very poor quality and honestly unpleasant. The only dishes our table generally agreed were decent were the squash casserole bowl and the chicken parmesan. Another disappointment was learning that bread is no longer served. For families with children, that was always something simple that helped while waiting on meals. Between the removal of those small touches, the higher prices, and the noticeable decline in food quality, the restaurant no longer feels worth returning to. I'm not writing this to get anyone in trouble. Uniforms different and now everyone was wearing their new "restaurant group" uniforms. While it may still be called Stinky's only the name remains. The classic fresh fish preparation with the diced potatoes and veggies have been replaced by a heaping amount of mashed potatoes and soggy broccolini. While the fish was okay, it lacked the special touches of the past. The firecracker shrimp lacked the good flavor and gentle breading of the past. Maybe it's okay for people who have never experienced what Stinky's was, but we would plan our last night at the beach to always include Stinky's. This year it's time to find a new favorite.
