Saw a server mixed up a customers food and then brought the same plate of food to another customer instead of remaking the food. Silverware could have been a bit cleaner.same with the cups. We always make a stop at Ovide for breakfast when we are in town. Josh is always such a joy to have when we stop in, make sure to ask for Josh or his gf Ashley! Get the Destin special-- you get any entree, fruit plate, coffee, and your choice of bloody or mimosa for $35 it is the best breakfast value I have ever seen, plus the food is always so fresh! So this is a tough review to write. The chef should not be penalized for the lack of professionalism of the staff. I don't think it's their fault either. We got the valentines prix fixe and the food was excellent but the amuse bouche came after the 1st course with no apology and then the first course was brought out twice. Beet cured crudo - yum. Sommelier was attentive and knowledgeable. Waiter was good but couldn't direct his staff. For the level of food they really need to have serious conversations with staff. read more

Came for their Sunday supper experience! Oh my God ..it was so delicious. Three pieces of chicken, a biscuit, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy and even a piece of delicious banana cream pie to finish. Came here for breakfast while staying at Hotel Effie for Memorial Day weekend. From the beginning we had issues. It started when the hostess ignored us for a woman who approached the host area after us. The host greeted the white woman with a smile and a hug and sat her immediately. She then came back for me and my friend (we're Black) and told us she'd see if they had a table available for us. Mind you, we had a reservation and the restaurant was slow to empty. Ultimately we were seated in Nicole's section. Nicole was friendly enough but extremely forgetful. We had to ask her multiple times for certain items and she wasn't attentive to our table, or any of her tables for that matter. The food was just okay. The best part were the breakfast potatoes as they were well seasoned. The hard biscuit and the eggs that appeared to be powdered, left much to be desired. read more

went for brunch and food wasn't that good. we were told the biscuits were made from scratch daily. sadly the one we were served could've been used as hockey puck. (it had to be reheated from a few days ago). the waiter brought out another one. this one must have been reheated from yesterday. definitely not made that morning. the pancakes were very dry and not good. the bacon was full of fat and not meat. the only nice part about brunch was the mimosas. however I can think of other things to spend $200 on rather than bad food. the service was great great! that's the only thing going for this place. save your money and go anywhere else but here! food is not good and not worth the wait. Meh. Better than average, super great service, but prices for drinks are not reasonable. My grouper was maybe $35 or $45 and worth it. My cocktail was $19 and delicious but it's up to you if you wanna pay that much. I must support an observation. You are required to spend a $16 fee for valet. Not including tip no other option. You have to pay $16 to have the honor of parking to eat dinner. I don't mind paying it but it is sooo money grab to no end. I feel lucky I found a free restroom. In all, it was nicely done, I'd eat again. I would not go out of my way. I'm appalled on the parking. Excellent service. Locals know waaay better places without the hoopla.
