But our ABC board in Alabama is a flat out monopoly/dictatorship. Really tough to deal with them. So I will not blame Cahaba spirits for their situation. The big thing as so many of my reviews harp on the convenience. We just moved this part of town. There is no ABC store here. So if I want a quick trip, this is a great spot to go. Aside from the prices, the selection isn't fantastic. Not to mention their wine doesn't have prices. So the one thing they can control the price on, I don't know what I'm paying. But the people are always really friendly and quick. Overall, the convenience is the only reason I have come here. And I will keep going. They haven't given a reason why I shouldn't when I'm in a pinch or don't want to hop on 280.

The lady who owns the place has done a fantastic job at curating a remarkable selection of things that you're going to want to try. The vibes are cozy and the decor interesting. The price points span a good range so there's something for everyone. Definitely check out the wine specials. I picked up a dozen assorted bottles to fill up a wine rack that had gone empty, and I was able to do that for what turned out to be less than expected. Will definitely be returning once I need to do that again. Aside from the interesting selection of bottles and the friendly vibes, it's also cool to see new and quirky businesses popping up in areas that are undergoing a revitalization. You love to see it. Long story short this is a very cool spot that you should make it a point to visit. Take the wine lover in your life and let them marvel at the unique selection. Check out the wide array of gins in the bathtub up front. Spend some time browsing the shelves and you might find something you didn't expect to find. Great spot. Local owner. Cool vibes. Interesting selection of things that you might not see everywhere. Go there and check it out for yourself. You'll love it.

This store is a convenient option if you're in the area and need to make a quick purchase. While…read morethe selection is adequate and includes most standard products, I have found it to be somewhat more limited than the inventory available at the Mountain Brook ABC Store. One area for improvement is product availability. I enjoy Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur and was disappointed to learn that this location does not stock it or offer the ability to request special orders. By comparison, other liquor stores allow you to request certain products and the Mountain Brook ABC Store consistently carries Solerno Liquor. Additionally, customer service could be improved. As it is now, the ambiance of the store does not encourage customers to spend more money. It encourages them to get out as quickly as possible. A greater emphasis on professionalism, courtesy, and customer engagement would enhance the overall shopping experience. While the store meets basic needs, there is room for improvement in both customer service and product flexibility. I recommend this as a liquor store if it is the closest. Just get in and out as quickly as possible. Their selection is less than that of the Mountain Brook Store but they have most things. I thought you could request a bottle or case of a certain liquor but they do not allow that. I enjoy Solerno, a blood orange liquor, but this store refuses to stock it. Mountain Brooks ABC Store always has is it! The attitude of the employees at this store may benefit from a lesson in civility and professionalism!

If you you like wine and haven't visited The Vintage Wine Shoppe yet, this place is a MUST!…read more I attend a monthly wine tasting with a women's group I belong to and from the first time, I was incredibly impressed. Their selection of wines from all over the world and all regions is impressive! Whether you want from Italian, French, California, Spain, South Africa, Argentina, Chile, etc. they will probably have it! AND... their prices are surprisingly reasonable! I admit, I purchase a lot of wine at Costco because of their selection and prices, but The Vintage Wine Shoppe's prices are pretty close to the big box warehouse's. I was truly surprised when I compared prices of some of my favorite wines. I love that when I shop here I support a local business. The store is also surprisingly large, consisting of 4 rooms/sections. They carry many interesting wine supplies and tools like openers, carafes, wine glasses, decanters, etc. along with other home decor and great gift items. When I attend our monthly wine tastings, they give our group an additional 10% off our purchase which is GREAT! They also have FREE wine tastings on a pretty regular basis. You can join their email list to find out about the tastings as well as sales. And the STAFF... any time I am looking for something specific, they blow me away with their knowledge and recommendations. So don't be intimidated to ask questions or ask for suggestions. If you have a price range in mind, they can help you find something you will love within that price range.

Most liquor stores, that I have been in, don't have this much to choose from (wine). Also, in the back of the store they have beer from local breweries, nice touch! I don't think I've ever been in a liquor store that has beer, let alone promotes local, really cool. As for the rest of the store, there is the standard selection of vodka, tequila, rum, whiskey, etc. Since it's kind of a small store, they may not have a ton of stock of each item, but they have an overall good selection.
