This store is a convenient option if you're in the area and need to make a quick purchase. While the selection is adequate and includes most standard products, I have found it to be somewhat more limited than the inventory available at the Mountain Brook ABC Store. One area for improvement is product availability. I enjoy Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur and was disappointed to learn that this location does not stock it or offer the ability to request special orders. By comparison, other liquor stores allow you to request certain products and the Mountain Brook ABC Store consistently carries Solerno Liquor. Additionally, customer service could be improved. As it is now, the ambiance of the store does not encourage customers to spend more money. It encourages them to get out as quickly as possible. A greater emphasis on professionalism, courtesy, and customer engagement would enhance the overall shopping experience. While the store meets basic needs, there is room for improvement in both customer service and product flexibility. I recommend this as a liquor store if it is the closest. Just get in and out as quickly as possible. Their selection is less than that of the Mountain Brook Store but they have most things. I thought you could request a bottle or case of a certain liquor but they do not allow that. I enjoy Solerno, a blood orange liquor, but this store refuses to stock it. Service at checkout isn't always as pleasant as you would like. This employee should be working the floor and stockroom. Her personality is not conducive to face to face check out transactions. No greeting, no smile just a condescending stare and surly attitude that misrepresents Alabama retail friendly hospitality especially for a State employee. The ABC store at 1425 Montgomery Hwy in Vestavia Hills is the best location for my business. I am generally always pleased with the service here. However there is one employee that doesn't seem to have the expected cheerful demeanor that her contemporaries/fellow employees display. She Never smiles. Seems to appear to have an attitude with some customers's requests if it means having to leave her cash register. Just her being herself?? She Appears to select and choose the customers she respects. I am an older customer which confuses me that much more. I am not loud nor pretentious and am not demanding special treatment; just equal treatment... She did appear to be the sole associate working at my particular time of visit. My request normally requires the associate to leave the check out counter and go to the stockroom to assist in my orders quantity for carry out. I hope she will do better. read more

The ABC store is THE place to go for liquor. ABC will always have the best prices and they carry almost everything from the high prices stuff to the low priced bargain drinker's delight. Today was my first time at this location and my experience could not have been any better. Thomas helped me find exactly what I needed and had some good recommendations of another item to get for a little side by side tasting of bourbons. Convenient location right off of Highway 31 (it's tucked away next to the piano shop). The staff are always friendly and helpful (even if it means suggesting another liquor store in the area). This store always has a good closeout section, complete with a number of gift sets (bottles that come with special glasses, variety packs, mixers, etc.). I always look here if I'm trying to find a gift for my friends that appreciate a good drink. Prices are decent, but if you're visiting from out of state, you'll most likely think they're high. This ABC store is conveniently located on highway 31, for all you "over the mountain" folks. It's right there in Vestavia, so it works out great for Hoover, Homewood, and Vestavia residents. Like all ABC stores, the prices are basically pennies on the dollar, compared to package stores. I'm still not sure how this isn't a monopoly, but whatever. This location is open six days a week, from 11a to 7p. That's convenient enough for me. On top of that, the employees have always been really friendly.
