I asked Barbara if she could help me out with some decor if she had any available and luckily she did at a great price. She even went above and beyond to try and call a few people to see if they had any table clothes to my theme color but unfortunately no one had any. She did provide me with the runners for the table, the backdrop and curtains. I was so pleased with all of it. I'm so glad Barbara was extremely accommodating with all of my needs. She wasn't on the premises but she was very easy to reach on the phone when I had questions or concerns. The location is very nice. I couldn't imagine booking anywhere else. The lighting inside can become dim if you like dim lighting or it can become bright. DJ lights are also available and changes with the beat of the music. The place is very nice and you don't need any outrageous decoration to make it gorgeous because it already is. My friends are already looking to book this location for future parties. Thank you Barbara for all of your help.

There was a water/lemonade station set up but it was abit too cold/windy for that. It got dark real fast mid-service and wished there was lighting available. Good thing the photographer had 1 light pole for pic to shine on the couple but other than that, it was cold and dark sitting there for the ceremony. Spacious and clean hall. Cocktail hour was also in the same space as dinner. I believe the ceremony started late and ran late; so the passed hors d'oeuvres was already available for us hungry guests. Trays of hors d'oeuvres and champagne greeted us when we stepped inside from the ceremony. Dinner was good and decent portion size. I believe the staff was short staffed as they weren't available to refill water glass and check on the table as much. They did a few initial check (before/and after meal) but not visibly seen as much. Overall, I enjoyed my evening here. Oh yeah, only noticed the next day that we never got the platter of cookies/brownies for the table at the end with our slice of wedding cake. Noticed it on the menu but none was given. Left 10min before party end and nada. Maybe they packaged it all up and gave it to the couple.

I had absolutely no idea this little gem was available to use for events! They completely sanitized and cleaned every square inch before me and my 13 guests (family mostly!) arrived for my husbands bday dinner. It was immaculate. We felt so comfortable because there was one chef who was cooking our food and one waiter to serve vs a restaurant with lots of people. They have a gorgeous outdoor space so we had drinks there and kept the door open then whole dinner for some air. It was great - food was amazing - and the staff couldn't have been nicer. They also provided all of the rentals and the price was right. It probably cost me a bit less then going to some fancy restaurant and the experience was so much more special. My husband was so surprised and loved every second. P.S. the chef re-created my husbands favorite childhood dish to make the menu special. I love that he took the time to do that!

I was calling him since 11am to see if he would be on time and no answer. My decoration and photo booth people were waiting outside since 1:30 until they eventually had to leave to other parties at 3pm. The food even got delivered and everything was outside until my husband called me to help him pick everything up and when I get there at 4:30 HE DECIDES TO SHOW UP. I go in there really mad because i already lost $700 dollars for my photo booth and decoration people. I told him that I can still use the venue if he gives us the venue till 12am and THE OWNER DECIDES TO CATCH AN ATTITUDE BECAUSE I'M TRYING TO "GIVE HIM ORDERS" AND "TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HIM" after he was unprofessional and never answered the phone. The cherry ontop of this whole situation after we asked for our money back was when he came back from the bank and said he owed us $200 dollars because he couldn't take out more cash from the ATM. Definitely left with all my money in hand. RIDICULOUS UNPROFESSIONAL MAN.

I wasn't satisfied with the condition of the Chinese Scholar Garden during my walk-through, and the team was so flexible and helped us change the cocktail hour location to the Tuscan Garden at the last second, which I really appreciate. I couldn't believe how beautiful the tented pavilion looked on the night of my event. My team was really responsive to any concerns that I had and I am extra grateful for Jessica! I think there is room for improvement when it comes to signage for guests and parking (a lot of people were confused) but other than that, my guests raved abut everything. Also I would suggest that they upgrade to some prettier fans for the tented pavilion. But those are my only cons!

The…read moreservice, the food, organization, and environment all came together to make it a wonderful and magical event. We were married in early August of 2015. Our ceremony was held in the Chinese Scholar Garden and the reception at the tented pavilion a short walk away. Our theme was Midsummer Night's Dream meets 1920's Lawn Party. We had around 130 guests. We chose the Extended Cocktail Wedding Celebration package with a sampling of butler styled hors d'oeuvres, fruit and cheese board, and Mediterranean and sushi stations. For dinner, we had buffet stations of pasta, salad, made to order Asian stir fry, and a carving station of three items. There was also a dessert station. The food was outstanding! They were able to cater to many different tastes and dietary restrictions. We were all very pleased with food. The environment fit our theme perfectly. The gardens and grounds where we took our photos and had our ceremony were clean, well groomed, verdant, and blooming. We set up a badminton net on the lawn next to the pavilion with cafe tables and chairs on the edge. We also set up a photo booth with backdrop on the lawn. Last and most importantly was the service and organization of our event. Everything went off without a hitch. There was plenty of time for our vendors to set up--DJ, live band, sound guy, photographer, MC, flowers/designer, and videographer. There was ample parking, a convenient place for our shuttle bus to pick up and drop off guests, and it was easy to get to and from the ferry on public transportation. We had a personal attendant who made sure we had enough food and drink. The staff worked well with our vendors and MC to make it the most special of times. We would definitely recommend having your wedding or special event at Snug Harbor.
