We were SO very glad it worked out that way!! Everything we had at Ama's was excellent overall. I agree with the other reviews that some of the food lacked a little seasoning (specifically salt) but that is such an EASY FIX and nothing to really complain about in my opinion. It's so much better to add your own salt than to be served food that's too salty. We loved the chunky guacamole with perfectly made pico de gallo, and the combo fajitas with rice and beans. Chips and salsa were okay. The cheese enchiladas with ranchero sauce may have been the best we've ever tried. The sauce was perfectly spicy. I wish I had that those enchiladas right now to be honest! The margaritas were great too. If Ama's wasn't three hours away, we would be visiting very often. Although I'm unable to recall her name right now, our server was great too! We will definitely stop by Ama's again on the next road trip out that way.

We walked in and we were able to get a table right away. They came to take a drink orders and…read morebring us chips and salsa.. The chips were nice and crispy and they were warm and the salsa was tasty. I like that the chips were not over salted. When the server came to take our order, she seemed to be confused by the fact that I could not eat sour cream and other people did not want guacamole. Which resulted in extra side orders of guacamole and a plate of sour cream. I ordered the barbacoa plate and my dining companion ordered the lingua. Unfortunately, the Barbacoa was not very good. It seemed a bit dry and did not have much flavor. Lingua was actually pretty tasty. It's a family place, I saw several families dining. Overall, I believe in second chances maybe if I ordered something different on the menu I would have had better experience.

Food was not very good. I got a chicken sandwich and my son got a different kind of chicken…read moresandwich. And we ordered the garlic breadsticks. The breadsticks tasted like they had so much yeast in them, they almost tasted beery flavored. My sandwich was burnt and the lettuce was all of the romaine hard pieces, not even quality lettuce. I'm not quite sure the chicken on my sandwich was even cooked all the way, it didn't look like it, so I didn't chance it. And my son did not like his sandwich either for similar reasons. Why didn't I complain in store , because we had had a very long hot day at the baseball fields, and all we wanted were some tasty sandwiches. There were very young workers and I just didn't want the confrontation. We left all our food there on the table and left. Not to mention, we waited a little over 45 mins for 2 sandwiches and breadsticks. My patience was nonexistent at that point.

The food was delicious, the restaurant was very clean, and the service was fantastic. We tried Madeline's despite being a very new restaurant and not having any yelp reviews and we were very happy we did. My son had the seared chicken with balsamic vinegar served over a pasta with a honey whiskey sauce and I had the hamburger steak with green beans and mashed potatoes. Both plates were freshly prepared and with generous helpings. We look forward to visiting again next time we are in Franklin.

Disclaimer -- only one visit…read more Wasn't sure what to expect at Los Ranchos, given the mixed previous reviews, but I'd say that overall, we were pleasantly surprised. Chips and salsa were sufficient. My beef tostadas were quite good, with flavorful meat, crispy tortillas, and better-than-average guacamole. Quesadillas were also good, though not particularly exciting. Good service (we were there at a non-busy time). Haven't yet had better Mexican food in the Madisonville area.
