The variety of stores seem to be getting lower and poorer. The Galleria use to advertise, "Where the Best Stores put their Best Stores". Now when I stroll the mall, I'm lucky if I see a familiar branded store. I basically only come for two stores now. I shop the Apple Store, which I am surprised is still located in the mall. I would have expected them to depart to a strip center somewhere else in the metro area. The other store I frequent is Tommy Bahama, but I don't shop there as often as I use, too. I can now just go on line and have it shipped to my home. My most recent visit, I could see the wear and tear of the Galleria and a desperate need for repairs and maintenance. As long as Apple remains a tenant, I'll keep coming back.

We stopped in last night only to pick up an online order, and that was the sole reason for our visit. This mall used to be the place to shop in St. Louis, great department stores, solid dining options, and an overall upscale feel. That's definitely not the case anymore. It's gone downhill significantly. Many of the good department stores that used to be here are no longer in business or have moved elsewhere and tons of new spots have aken over some of the spaces, but I am not very familiar with many of the new stores. The visit itself felt uncomfortable. There were police officers and security guards throughout the mall, and a lot of people just hanging around who didn't seem to be shopping. The space felt louder, messier, and not very inviting. On top of that, the mall now closes at 7 PM on a Saturday, which is pretty shocking for a mall this size. I assume it's for safety reasons, especially since there are signs posted stating that all minors must be accompanied by an adult. It's disappointing to see how far this place has declined. The shoppers who once gave the Galleria its appeal have clearly moved on elsewhere.

Whether by car or Metrolink, it's literally a straight line out and back. Every time I'm here, it reminds me why this stretch has such a loyal following, because it's one of those places where you can land with no plan at all and still end up having a great time by just letting the street carry you along. The food scene here is the big draw, with a mix of global options that all seem to go together. From shawarma to ramen to tacos and yes, diner comfort food without breaking stride. The storefronts flip from quirky to arty and classic that keeps the walk interesting. Mini golf and bowling, too! Two unique things that make the Loop uniquely the Loop are the Planet Walk and the Saint Louis Walk of Fame. The Planet Walk is a scale model of the Solar System that stretches a half mile or so along Delmar mapping out the distances between the planets. And alongside this, the Walk of Fame runs along with stars honoring famous Saint Louisians (Saint Louisans?) set into the sidewalk. It's fun to spot names you know and names that are new to you. Chuck Berry. Maya Angelou. Tennessee Williams. Nelly. The Loop is named for the Loop Trolley. It launched in 2018, hit some operational and funding issues, and ended service in 2023. I'm bummed that I missed the opportunity to ride it. Maybe it returns one day? But even without the Trolley, the Loop is one long ribbon of activity. Accessible, diverse and consistently entertaining. It delivers exactly what you want from a neighborhood. [Review 440 of 2026 - 509 in Missouri - 25623 overall]

Visiting family in St. Louis, we decided to browse this mall bc I had never been…read more It's an impressive collection of high-end shopping with some newer and "trendier" stores like Alo Yoga, Vuori, Warby Parker, etc. while having staples like Tiffany and Co., Sak's Fifrth Ave., Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and more. I was pleasantly surprised by Restoration Hardware on the second floor and we were told it must be pretty new bc it wasn't there before. I enjoyed walking around and window shopping. There is a lot of money in this mall and some of the stores were very pretentious (Louis Vuitton, here's looking at you!), but it's a fun browse and if you are looking for one of these stores in particular, you're in luck bc they're all housed here under one huge shopping mall. Rarer and rarer these days... Mall was well-kept and clean. The bathrooms needed some TLC but, it was mostly a clean and spacious mall.

The lawns are so perfectly manicured you half-expect a golf cart to roll by with someone yelling, "Fore!" The stores? A curated collection of designer labels that only people who've forgotten what size they wear shop at. The parking lot is like a luxury car reunion--each SUV vying for the most ostentatious display of monogrammed headrest covers. If there were a Kardashian for horsepower, these folks would be reality TV royalty. But hey, it's pleasant enough for a slow stroll. The pale-faced crowd in pastel polos and sensible loafers adds a certain... je ne sais gold chain. Just don't expect energy, diversity, or affordable anything. It's more "The Club That Time Forgot." Come for the nostalgia, stay for the passive-aggressive nods. Plaza Frontenac: where the polo shirts outnumber the people under 60 by a factor of ten--and nobody's complaining, because they paid five figures for those pants.

Anywho, stores were spacious and wonderful, staff was friendly and welcoming. My favorite store was Marshall's, but the other stores are also nice. Cleanliness of the stores aren't my favorite. There are always crumbs on the floor at some point, or something is out of place which is one of my pet peeves. My only complaint as well. About the huge stores. Sooooooooo much merchandise! A wide spread, with great pricing. Parking lot was also really, really roomy and there is always room. It is busy, but there's always room for one more. I'm satisfied to post my review of four stars.
