Melanie brushed/cleaned them for us and took time to give us some history about the store. Apparently this is the oldest store in the square. Everything is real and authentic. What didn't help was that I came here in November so there were Christmas things for sale already and I love good Christmas decorations. The store is also fairly large so you can roam and take a look at a lot of different things. There are also quite a few entrances/exits, which seemed odd for shoplifting reasons but I appreciated being able to walk out onto a different side of the street. I will say that stuff was super pricey in here, but if it is mostly hand made by artists, I understand. I also live in an overpriced tourist city, so I understand the mark up. I will say that I thought the staff was a bit aloof. Like they didn't care to answer any questions or make any conversation, or even say hello. That was fine. I like being left alone when I shop anyway. Aloof is fine but rudeness isn't. When we left one of the employees was super rude and slammed the door on us (someone else had left it open and she thought it was us so she said something and slammed the door) so that left a bad taste in my mouth but I will say this store is still pretty cute and I'd come back.

I was greeted initially, but quickly handed off to another associate who was not very friendly or helpful. The whole process felt rushed. When I was choosing ribbons, I went back and forth between a few options (as you do when customizing something), but I got the impression I was inconveniencing her. Not once did she offer suggestions or ask questions to help guide the design or get a sense of what I was going for. I ended up settling instead of creating something I really loved. After the ribbons were placed, I was immediately asked about adding branding, which in my past experiences is usually one of the final steps. It just added to the feeling that I was being hurried through rather than guided through a fun, personalized process. For a place with such a strong reputation and high price point, I expected a much better experience. Sadly, it felt more impersonal than memorable.

Sarkes helped me try on probably 30 coats. He put them on me and hung them back up for me. I told him that I had a budget and I was worried I couldn't afford most of the things. He told me not to worry and we would find something. I ended up liking 2 but couldn't afford both. While I was deciding which one I wanted he brought the price down for me so I was able to get both!!! I'm in love with both of my jackets and I am still over the moon with happiness that he was so sweet and helpful. I'm gonna feel like a million bucks every time I wear my new jackets. If I ever come back to Jackson Hole I will for sure stop in again. Or if I ever want another coat and not able to physically come in, I will call the store and go through him for my next purchase.

Reading the others, I'm surprised they encountered bad service. I've never felt judged or was treated with anything but standard respect. The staff isn't the fawn-over-you type but they're polite, helpful when I ask, and are self aware enough to know when to approach someone versus greet and leave alone. Proud to Shop Local!
