We have lived in Tunkhannock for going on 6 years and have been fed up with the lack of places to eat. So I went hunting at restaurants outside of the area and came across Overbrook Pub. I know we have driven past this place before so it was a bit familiar to us but we didn't know what kind of environment it was or the food they had. We scoped out their online menu and found some things we wanted to try. I called up to make sure they did take out orders bc their site wasn't specific if they did or not. The girl who answered was super bubbly and told me they did do take out and asked me for my order. I was a bit bummed to find out their in house menu had changed from the menu that was online and one of the items I wanted to try they no longer served. But she was quick to offer something almost like it that they did serve and we went with that. I was a bit sticker shocked when I got the total since their site doesn't have prices listed but we were expecting it to be on the high side since we got many sea food entrees. She told us how long it would take which wasn't an issue bc it takes us 20 minutes to get into town anyway. When we got there we saw what people meant about the lack of parking, but we didn't have any issues finding a spot. They have 2 entrances to get in, one is handicap accessible and the other takes you right into their bar area. Since we were closest to the handicap entrance I just went in that way. As soon as I walked in I was hit with the amazing smells of all the foods they offer. I was also able to see why the parking lot was as small as it is, they have a small dining and bar area and that's it. Their parking is enough for those who are eating inside and that's about it. The wait staff was super friendly while I was making my way to get our order. I chatted with the girl at the bar while another one was getting my order from the back and she was complaining how no one has updated the site menu and it can be a bit annoying when people call in to place an order and they ask for something not on the menu anymore. I told her I felt her pain and laughed about it. She told me she made sure everything was there and nothing was missing since we ordered quite a bit. I grabbed our 3 bags of food and we headed home. The whole way home our car smelled fantastic and just made us even more hungry. To come to our conclusion their food was amazing. Definitely worth the price tag that came with it. We will definitely order from there again and look forward to try some of the other things they offer. Idk why people complained about the waitstaff because everyone I encountered while I was walking in for my order was super nice and helpful. read more

Very nice little place to get a good meal. The food was very good and they had a ton of options no matter what your taste or diet. The place was clean and the service was quick. I'm thinking our server may have been having an off night because although she seemed nice... she did not smile or go out of her way... the other servers all seemed very happy to be there with smiles and all... everyone has an off night... and the service was by no means bad... just not great. read more

The reason for the one star is, Why do you not post your prices on your menu? This isn't New York City! Was considering coming there for my b'day. We're not poor, but we're not rich. Our favorite place in the Back Mountain. Casual food at a reasonable price, but they also offer weekly high end specials. The bar has a great selection. The service is always friendly and super accommodating. read more

Really good food. Crab pretzel was a delicious appetizer. Burger was juicy and thick. Patty seemed hand pressed. Generous bacon portion in burger. Fries are well done. Possibly double fried or battered. Very crispy. Can't wait to come back soon. read more

I may not have had a decent Steak in NE PA like the one I had a Overbrook. It's nice, Trendy, Great food and the prices are great.

Yeah, I agree, delicious and affordable. My seatmate got broiled haddock, it was cooked to perfection and quite tasty. I got a calzone the size of a Buick, seriously, I could only finish a quarter of it. It was stuffed full of veggies and ricotta cheese. The best part was the baby spinach-strawberry-pecan salad. It was a Friday night and they were busy, but when we called they said we didn't need reservations. The wait staff was very nice, attentive, and friendly. Ate dinner here a few times and haven't had one average thing yet, everything's delicious. I'm a younger guy who eats quite a bit and I feel like it's good portions for the price. We stopped by here after Ricketts Glen and we had a nice time with good food, lovely ambience and friendly staff... The burger and sweet potato fries were delicious, (initial the burger came out a bit well done , they immediately made us another one and also gave us a free dessert!). Cannot understand how this place stays in business. There was a SCREAMING child in the dining room which staff did nothing to remedy. The food was below average. When asking the waitress about which would be better: veggie burger or pizza, she raved about the pizza. She insisted the pizza maker is from Italy and that the dough is made onsite. What came out was a soggy mess on a perfectly round mass produced disc of frozen store bought dough. We asked her to show us some of the "homemade " dough from the kitchen. We were visiting family and I suggested we head to dinner at a place with great burgers. We ended up at a spot with one of the best burgers I've ever had! Fantastic pub style menu with some delicious options we've never tried before.... my wife is still craving the sweet potato fries dusted in cinnamon and served with melted marshmallows. Wow! The worst service I ever had in a restaurant. I have never walked out prior to getting my order but I should have here. It took 20 minutes to get a drink order, 30 minutes more for a cup of soup and it got worse from there. I have eaten here before and the food is usually good but the service is poor but this was my last visit. I am not going to a restaurant where you feel like you are bothering them to give them your business. There are plenty of options in the area that exceed this place for service, quality of food and value. Avoid this place and go where you are appreciated. read more

Food was good (reason for stars). . Atmosphere a little plain. Could use a little background music in the dining room. Service could stand to improve (reason for -3 stars). We were told "sit anywhere you like" so we choose a table near the window. When our server arrived, she immediately asked us to move in the event a larger party arriving. While I totally understand the reason for this request, it could have easily been resolved by simply seating us. This made us feel insignificant and needless to say, it was a poor way to start off a dinner experience. The remainder of the dinner also suffered from poor service (plate clean up, timeliness of food, drink refresh, and etc). I will not be dining there again and I cannot recommend eating there unless it is for take-out (the food was good) read more

Quality is always consistent. Crabcake sandwhich is OUTSTANDING. Made to order grilled, burgers make your mouth water! Who wouldnt want a burger with anything you want on it? This is probably one of our most favorite restaurants!! You can have delicious appetizers and drinks, light fare like salads, sandwiches, burgers and wraps or steaks and seafood! Our family went there for a nice dinner, and it was perfectly adequate. We were looking for a place where there was some quality food and a decent wine menu. We thought the rates were a little high for the quality of the food. They don't really have a wine list, and the wine they do have is not great. I called for take out on 10/28/14 and was asked if I could hold. The woman set the phone down and walked away. I hung up after 10 minutes of listening to everyone at the bar. I called back a bunch of times but it was busy. (I assume because she still had the phone off the hook.) Despite my better judgement I called again later and finally was able to place an order. Normally the food is pretty good but that night my burger was overcooked. I thought I would give it another shot tonight (12/9/14) and again, the same thing.....she set the phone down and walked away. This time I stuck it out but guess what.....When she finally came back it was not to place my order, but to hang up the phone she left sitting there. I'm done with this place. Honestly, she would have been better off saying she was too busy to take an order and to call back later or something. I read other reviews and apparently others have experienced the same.
