Full disclosure: this is my neighborhood bar and I have been coming here for years. I have a lot of friends I have made here and many many bartenders became close friends of mine over the years. Sadly, most of the awesome bartenders are gone now but some of my faves are still here (shout out to Tawnie and Rachel!). I will always come here no matter what but it's a true dive bar y'all. Heavy pours, fried foods, regulars saying HEYYYYYY when you walk in. And then of course the silliness that happens when it's late at night. I have seen some shit go down here late night. Went here last night because of the Bar Rescue episode. Ordered 4 Jamison and ginger ales. Most likely not the bartenders fault but what ever came out of the gun tasted like the Lincoln City Pacific Ocean. All 4 of us gagged. He did try and remedy it by pouring ginger beer in our glasses as we insisted he didn't have to make new ones. It made them tolerable. By then our first impression was super low. On a good note the place looks great from the remodel and the back patio is awesome. We didn't try the food. We might give it another chance someday and see how it goes? For now... After working hard to help friends move our last trip was out to the dump in NE Portland. Hungry and exhausted we stopped into a place near by in St Johns called Over Easy and so GLAD we did. Our server JESS was helpful regarding the menu and our drinks were awesome. We had chicken fried steak and pulled pork hash. We upgraded toast to biscuit. and upgraded to pancake on pulled pork hash. This is a great neighborhood place and we will be back. Thanks Jess, your service was spot on and we could tell you were smiling under required mask. I'm here at Over easy, having a beer while waiting for my "cheese sticks" and buffalo wings. Sad to say, there isn't really two pool tables. while that's no tragedy, it sucks when there's people who will play for hours when they know you're waiting. just a heads up. The atmosphere is laid back, but its just nice enough for a date. That is, if your date likes pool, televized basketball games and fried foods. pros: decent bar food, comfortable atmosphere, good patio, video poker, enough seating for you to bring friends. Jukebox, so you can puck your own music! con's: There's only one pool table and apparently no time limit in game play and its not free (75 cents per round). Been there twice so far - both times for breakfast - both times were served b y the same lovely server/bartender. But both times she was the only person on the floor for a full house so it's not speedy. Hubby loved the breakfast burrito and I loved the pork hash - tasted like slow cooked and house made. This place is pretty cool. Is it as cool as the incredibly divy Six Point? Probly not. Is it as cheap? Defintely not. Do they have anywhere near the same specials/happy hour deals/ Nope. The folks are still nice. Something I have always not liked about this place was the the layout, and while the silly show changed the layout a bit, they didn't impprove it. There s still 2 pool tables (which seems ridiculous to me), They didn't make the smoking area any nicer. The food here is coonsistently pretty good, I've tried some sandwhiches and such since they re-opened. The drinks leave a bit to be desired. Good ideas, not well executed. But it really is nothing to write home about without the cheap eats and drinks. read more

Over easy is trying to be a breakfast bar, but they are missing an important element. They are sorely understaffed. I met some friends there on a Sunday morning at about 10:30 and it wasn't even busy. But we sat at our table for more than an hour. The waitress brought coffee and took our order, then completely ignored us. As more time passed and she deliberately avoided eye contact, we watched other guests sit, order, eat, pay and leave before we were even offered more coffee. Then we simply ran out of time. Had to get up and leave. Unfortunately, this isn't my first experience with bad service at Over Easy. They never have more than one person working the whole room. I came back because when I have eaten there before the food was ok. It would be a great spot to go have breakfast on the weekend, but they seriously need to hire some help. Or at least get a more skilled multitasker. She was waiting and bussing tables, tending bar and everything else in the front of house, but accomplishing very little. Sorry, Over Easy. Super enjoyable. We've driven past the place for years and finally stopped in for brunch. First off... it's a bar. If you go in expecting fine dining and extremely attentive wait staff then go somewhere in the Pearl. But with that said, you can't get better than this in the area. Great food (I loved the gravy), fun banter with the bartender and cook and nice folks around us eating. And our first sighting of a CBD drink for sale in a non dispensary setting. We'll be coming back more often. read more

This is the worst restaurant in St. John's I have ever been to. Online it looks like a great place with a great menu. I entered the restaurant and soon realized it was a low budget dive bar where the menu is small and not as advertised and the people are insulting and rude. I felt catfishes. When I ordered my food, the man taking my order insulted how much me and my girlfriend ordered and interrupted me ordering and said what we ordered was a "bold move". My girlfriend and I felt judged and not welcomed the entire time and I will never be returning here again. read more
