We couldn't have asked for a better experience working with Altagracia and her team. From our very first consultation, she was attentive and empathetic toward our situation, taking the time to truly understand the stress we were under. She strategized with us about our options, clearly outlining the potential costs and risks of pursuing our case so we could make informed decisions from the start. We were even given a recording of the consultation to refer back to later. That thoughtful extra step was invaluable and should be standard practice if it isn't already. This was our first time hiring a lawyer for anything, and we learned a great deal through the process. The office was completely transparent about billable hours and how charges were applied to our retainers, which gave us peace of mind. Communication was excellent, and the little touches made a big difference -- being able to text our attorneys, receiving a call whenever something needed clarification, and even seeing the friendly portraits of the admin team in email replies. It made every interaction feel personal, and I truly appreciated putting a face to the name of the person helping me. They guided us through a very stressful dispute with our landlord, and we felt confident they would secure a settlement in our favor which they did. Altagracia was thorough, detail-oriented, and unwavering in her support as we navigated litigation against our unsavory landlord. Thanks to her expertise, we were able to get out of a 2-year lease without any financial penalties -- something we could never have accomplished on our own. For those who have never hired an attorney before, the cost may feel daunting at first -- but her services are truly worth every penny for the professionalism, skill, and peace of mind she provides. She keeps her clients' long-term goals in focus, giving practical, realistic advice when pursuing "full justice" might not be the most sensible option given the time, cost, and uncertainty of court proceedings. If we ever need a tenant/landlord attorney again, Outerbridge Law will be our first call. We wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone in need of legal assistance in these matters. Our sincerest gratitude to Altagracia, Charles, Suchita, Heleina, John, and the rest of the Outerbridge team for their support and guidance. -- Rachel & Hector read more

Atty Outerbridge was exceptional to say the least. Not only her, but her entire team ran their operations which such precision and attention to the details that mattered most to us. She is a fierce lawyer and extremely sharp. She was steps ahead and brought things to our attention we wouldn't have thought of to protect us. I couldn't even get past the receptionist who refused to answer very basic, on-legal questions. If the receptionist is evasive and uncooperative, I can't imagine what the lawyers are like. read more

I feel that this firm took advantage of me in such a severe way that I'm not sure I can recover from it. I have never written a negative review in my life but I have to speak up and hopefully prevent other people from ending up in my situation. I found Outerbridge Law through a google ad and it was the biggest mistake I could have ever made. I have lost thousands and thousands of dollars to them, and not only was this money totally wasted, but it has set my subtenant holdover case by FOUR MONTHS, which is an additional almost $10,000 in back rent I'm on the hook for, because I had to refile EVERYTHING with a new legal team. I have to start the ENTIRE PROCESS OVER because: "They were sworn to on Jun 13 (per the affidavit) but the service was allegedly completed June 16. Cannot have an affidavit dated before the completion of the service. This is why I was waiting to see the affidavits signed and dated. Very incompetent." Not only was the process done incorrectly, but the Altagracia spoke to me over the phone when I respectfully voiced my concerns about how the process had been going was beyond the pale. The tone and manner of communication was completely unprofessional and inappropriate for any client relationship. Never would I have imagined a lawyer would speak to their client the way she spoke to me. In the end, they refunded the remainder of my deposit (three weeks into this process, mind you), but they had already eaten through THOUSANDS of dollars. To do what exactly? Well, over $1200 alone was spent on an eviction notice and a demand letter that required my edits, and two phone calls to my subtenant that went unanswered. When I walked through the line items with my new legal team they were horrified. They also said my experience with this firm was not uncommon. So why all the five star reviews? I couldn't understand why my experience was such a horror show but there were almost no other negative reviews. Well... If you scroll back a few pages, the other negative Yelp review on this firm says she "received an e-mail from Altagarcia and her team threatening to sue me and bribe me to take my review down". I wish I had seen that before starting to do work with this firm. I would not EVER recommend this firm. read more

Altagracia and her team were amazing and patient dealing with a HOA issue in Nassau County.

We had a very positive experience with Altagracia. She displayed empathy and listened attentively to our ongoing issue. Most importantly, she outlined our options very clearly and was honest and direct. She also took time to repeat pieces of the consultation that I missed due to my hearing loss and remained patient in the process of me asking her to repeat. I don't often experience that type of service. We appreciated her frank advice of what to expect and did not sugar coat anything. We highly recommend Outerbridge Law! read more

My consultation with Ms Outerbridge regarding my rights and responsibilities with regards to my apartment lease helped me get very useful and practical legal guidance. Her advice was not limited to simply the rule of the law, but also extended to the practicality of various relevant procedures which helped me evaluate the cost and risk of following different options. She laid out the potential paths toward resolving my issue in a very straightforward manner, and was very respectful about my issues; she made sure to fully listen to my situation, even if some of it didn't necessarily matter for the case at hand. I really appreciated this attitude as it made me feel comfortable to ask any and all questions that I was worried about. Coming out of the consultation, I felt that I had a very strong understanding of what my options were, and what I needed to consider going forward. read more

I had a great experience with Altagracia and Outerbridge in general over the course of my multi-year case with my landlord. At all points she was professional, patient and proactive. Altagracia was always interested in understanding exactly what I wanted out of the case or any settlements and making sure I knew the various pros/cons of any option I might pursue. She routinely made time to answer any questions I had about proceedings, terminology or how the system worked (both technically and practically). The stipulations/agreements that Altagracia and her team drafted were airtight and held up against all of the landlord attorneys' later attempts to poke holes in them. This ensured that I was able to focus on my landlord's failures exactly as intended. In the end I was able to settle my case in a satisfactory manner. I would happily recommend Outerbridge Law to anyone who needs a good landlord/tenant attorney. read more

I am sad and disappointed that I received an e-mail from Altagarcia and her team threatening to sue me and bribe me to take my review down. In short, I was a paying client of Altagarcia and her team. I am currently fighting to have someone removed from my house for almost 3 years! I decided to use this law firm and I was told originally that it wouldn't be more than 5000$. It's been less than a year using this firm and I have already paid almost 20,000!!!! More than what the tenants owes me! It first started with altagracia. she said I had to pay her assistant as well! I was never informed or told I had to pay for someone else to "help" her with my case!!! If you have a question they will charge you! If they update you with any information they still charge you! I've been waiting since March for a final decision and I haven't had any updates at all! 20,000 plus more down the drain! That could have been for a down payment to a house!!! read more

I contacted Altagracia at Outerbridge, based upon the recommendation of a close friend. I'm glad that he did so. My issue involved my sister who is a tenant in a rent-stabilized building in Brooklyn. Because Altagracia represents both tenants and landlords she was able to look at my sister's situation from both sides which made her recommendations, more relevant, appropriate and effective. Although my consultation with her was over the phone, I could tell that she's a very caring person who could relate to my sister's situation, while at the same time, understanding how the landlord might react to certain contingencies that I presented to her. I strongly recommend her in any tenant-landlord situation, regardless of which side you are on. read more

Very knowledgeable professional fellow attorney who I am happy to refer clients for all their immigration and landlord-tenant needs.

Experienced, tenacious and responsive legal representation: I've referred clients to Altagracia and her team and will continue to do so!

Altagracia and her team at Outerbridge Law were absolutely amazing. They exceeded every expectation I had. My landlord was a total bully--the worst rated landlord in NYC by the NYC Public Advocate, and he certainly earned that title. Altagracia took him on and struck an incredible out-of-court settlement that was entirely in my favor. My landlord got nothing. Altagracia was there to answer every single question I had, quell every anxiety that popped up, and just be a wonderful support throughout the process. I honestly can't recommend Outerbridge Law enough. read more

I contacted Altagracia right in the middle of the COVID pandemic to help me end a residential lease earlier. I worked with Altagracia on a landlord tenant case. My case was filed in August in September I learned the case was dismissed. I received no call from her but learned myself from looking online. When I emailed her; her response was ..... yes it was dismissed. (That was four days after it was determined). Had I not looked myself I never would have known. I paid this firm $5350 dollars and didn't even get a courtesy call to let me know I'm right back where I started. I can't help but feel there are other things I was not informed about. Do yourself a favor and do not use this firm. I plan on filing a complaint with the courts and I have contacted the court reporter in hopes of getting a copy of the transcripts. read more
