    Huge cinnamon roll

Great spot for breakfast. One of the best meals we had during our trip throughout the UP and northwoods WI. The space is as expected for the area-- a cool rustic cabin vibe. I walked around and took pictures of all the neat little touches, they were so cool (the stove in one of the dining rooms was particularly lovely). The food is hearty, comfort food fare. Think pancakes, farm fresh eggs, sausage gravy, etc. My husband had the chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs and potatoes. A hearty breakfast! I had the cakes and eggs. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and the eggs were perfectly cooked over easy. We also got the cinnamon roll which was MASSIVE and slathered with thick icing. We each took a couple of bites and it was fantastic but very sweet and filling. Perfect for a sweet treat but be sure to have several people to split it with, ask for a to-go box along with it! Good prices, friendly service and great food. Hihgly recommend!

Unfortunately they are permanently closed. It's a big loss to the community. They had fantastic food.

Great food choices; good drinks in a lovely log building. The town Boulder Junction is also worth visiting; picturesque.

Everything was excellent - appetizer, Walleye Cheek fritters, relish tray w/ liver pate & garlic/ herb butter spread, mushroom/ truffle bisque, spinach salad w/ hot bacon dressing (or fresh garden salad, your choice) - entrees were perfect - pan fried walleye, coquilles St James, coquilles St Osep - delicious. I learned early I didn't give a damn about fishing, and even less about 2 weeks in a primitive fishing camp. Every few days we had to go re-stock supplies (mostly beer for the grownups) and it was a trip to Boulder Junction to do so. I couldn't wait for those trips to get away from the crushing boredom of the camp. Back then, (60's) Boulder Junction was speck of fly-shit on the map of Wisconsin, quaint and gemütlichkeit as it was. In the 21st century, it ain't much bigger, but it sure has grown in vibe. It's now an artsy-crunchy village of shops and places for the well-to-do who have their summer joints in the vicinity to have a cocktail and a bite to eat. The Guides Inn had the highest YELP rating and was close to our Hotel on the night we arrived, so it got the nod. It's a Wisconsin Supper club, dressed a notch up. The gruff fellow at the bar (who was gruff at some other folks, not us) eased up and took care of us admirably, crafting divine Brandy OldFashioneds which balmed the edge off the 400mile+ ride from Chicago. There were a bunch of us, and they could not fit our entire group at one table, so we were in 4-top tribes. Not perfect, but it was OK. There was an amuse-bouche relish tray-haven't seen one of those in a while. Typical of Wisco Supper clubs these days, there were surprises on the menu. In this case Walleye Cheeks. If you've ever been to a fine Spanish/Basque resto, you might have had Kokotxas (Cod Cheeks) which are among the finest Tapas you can get (and an apt delivery system for Garlic, Chilis and Olive Oil). There's a pocket of very tender and tasty meat on the side of certain fishes heads called "cheeks" (it makes sense, n'est ce pas?) and on a Walleye, which is a fine eating fish in any preparation, the "Cheeks" are indeed a delicacy. They were breaded/fried here and totally yum. The onion soup was, as well. My Entree was Beef Wellington (another dish you might not suspect from a Wisco Supper club in the middle of nowhere) and it was top-notch. Accompanied by Wild Rice-There's the Northwoods signature. Wife had a regular Filet Mig which she reported was fine. Service was good, and the decor a step up, like I indicated previously, from a garden-variety Wisco Supper Club. The CHECK, however, was closer to downtown Chicago than the map might suggest. Not the bargain bill you usually find at Supper Clubs, but I'll say the dear prices were commensurate with the bread and circuses. A pleasant evening in a pleasant place...

Then as we sat at a local dive, I stumbled on Finn & Feather and we left, drove 95mph and made it (with an hour and half to spare as they are on Central time!). I am so glad we made that move, drinks were great, food was AMAZING! Our exchange students tried the ELK steak my wife ordered for the first time (and first time for me as well) and it was simply perfection! My old fashioned was spot on. I'm a steak guy, my steak was the GUIDES cut (I was skeptical), but HOLY COW, what a piece of meat, cooked to my exact standards (my Dad was a butcher) and the piece was a very generous portion given the price after cooking even. Ok, so I would leave it there, but I can NOT, the deserts were home-made, the in-house cream alone was fabulous and the cake we had was out of this world. Our only minor complaint, the broccolini needs some seasoning, but overall it was so minor, we wouldn't worry too much about it. If you are up North, an even within an hour, make the trip to this amazing restaurant sitting buried right on the shores of Lake Gogebic. It was so good, we heard they were doing a lobster boil the next night, we booked reservations on the spot and came back the next night! Special shout-out to our waiter and the whole staff - it was the Labor Day weekend and they made us feel special, included and the food - oh the food - so good! Don't miss this special place on your next trip up north!

We are out of towners that stayed in Minocqua for a long weekend, and the first two places we tried to go for dinner didn't work out due to late reservations. We happened upon McGregor's Blink Bonnie Supper Club while driving down the road, and thought it was so cute, so we stopped in. We were told it would be about an hour and a half wait, but we went for it. There is a cute little arcade in a room off the bar, so my two older kids loved spending all of my quarters playing games. My husband, myself and our toddler ventured out back to the patio area, which was very expansive and included a large green space with a wooden ladder game and cornhole. All the kids enjoyed running around and going back and forth, which helped pass the time! When we were told our table was ready, we headed inside and were seated at a four top that fit all of us snugly, but it worked. The ambiance was cozy and very "Northwoods" themed. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious! The bread came out warm and toasty, which was perfect. My salad had the most delicious garlic dressing, I wish I could have bought a bottle to take home! My daughter ordered the onion rings, and they were fried to crispy perfection, and paired wonderfully with the tasty ranch. My son really enjoyed his fried shrimp, and I shared some of my filet mignon and lobster with him, which he loved! My husband practically inhaled his prime rib, and our youngest enjoyed tasting from everyone's dishes. We had an absolutely great time, and we will definitely be back next year!

Classic supper club menu, and its true what they say as all the steaks come out drawing attention like the fajitas at a mexican restaurant, on a plate sizzling. All the food was great and the staff was so friendly! They mentioned it was definitely a slow night (due to the holiday) so glad we stopped by when we did! Will definitely be back to try some more of the menu!
