First time dining at this location and it just was mediocre. The food lacked flavor for some reason. I ordered my usual and it was just ok. My pork chop was a bit dry and my steak house mac and cheese was luke warm. Garlic mashed potatoes were very bland. Hubby's pasta barely had any sauce he was disappointed. Great food. Horrible service. I dread having to leave horrible reviews but the service tonight was trash. I came to have a nice dinner with my 4 children and husband, everything went great up until it was time to pay for our food. For context, we've got 4 under 7 so going out to eat is a task and routine for us. When we are done eating, one of us takes the crew to the car while the other cleans up after ourselves and pays the check. Today while doing exactly that our server would not stop hovering. I don't know if this place has had dine and dash problems but that's what her energy was saying. The moment my husband stood up to take our children to the car, she comes and asks if we're going to pay. I smile and say yea. My crew is gone and I'm PACKING our left overs. She comes over and teaches me how to do the kiosk, ma'am it's 2023 these things are everywhere. I've still got food on plates to be packed up and she does this. After I'm all packed up, I'm picking up crayons, trash, napkins and silverware that fall under the table when you have young kids and she comes over again. I sternly tell her, "thank you. I am going to pay I'm almost finished." I clean up and leave cash with a 25% tip ($28). I'm already out of the restaurant at this point and she runs after me. "Ma'am for some reason your card didn't go through." At this point I'm feeling the vibes and I'm pissed off so I tell her again that cash was left on the table. I'm not sure if this is how she treats every family with young kids or if it was just us, but it's a very disgusting show of character. I ordered the Prime Rib sandwich. It had this sliced over cooked roast beef. Less than 4 Oz of meat with to much cheese and unions. It was the same sandwich is the French dip. Took one bite and opened it up. It was nasty. The fries were white undercooked and grease. The server asked me if I wanted a box to go and I said no. They were afraid to ask how my meal was. I stopped in here after church with my 18 month old to grab some lunch. We were seated right away and also got our drink order right away, but that was the extent of the decent service we received. Our server brought our drinks and took our food order. I ordered grilled cheese for my son and I had a grilled chicken sandwich that had bacon and Swiss cheese and a side salad. They brought out the salad but didn't bring silverware. I waited patiently for probably 10 minutes and never saw a server anywhere and no one ever came back by, so I picked my salad apart with my fingers and ate it. Our food finally came and the server asked if I needed anything else and I asked for napkins and some sauce. It was a good 10 minutes or more before the sauce came, and I had to ask her again for napkins. By time I had paid my tab and left I still didn't get any napkins. Had lunch here today at 2:00PM with some friends. Place was pretty empty. Sadly this visit didn't go very well compared to many other times. We eat here a lot. Most all on the server and a little on the kitchen. We arrived first and told him that we will need two separate checks before our friends arrived. We ordered a ice tea and a soda. Server brings us ice tea and water. We mentioned the soda, he apologized and said he would get it. He forgot. Second time I reminded him I also asked for a spoon to stir my tea. Got the soda, no spoon. Just used a straw. Friends arrive and we all order. Thier drinks come. We start to become concerned because a lot have time has passed with no salads or soup delivered. Three salads get delivered, but no soup. Less than one minute after getting our salads another Server brings us our entrees. I expressed my displeasure to him about the poor space timing. I explained that we just got our salads and my friend hasn't even gotten his potato soup. He retrieves the soup. We now have a full table. Everything was good except the potato soup. Cheese on top was melted, but the soup wasn't hot. Likely sat under a heat lamp for a while. Tried the ground steak. Asked cooked medium, but was well done. Just ate it. Server asked, two checks or one. Said two as we did earlier. It wasn't busy, but he couldn't remember a lot of things. Gave my rewards number to the Server. Never got put in. Luckily I saved the receipt, but it takes 24 hours before you can get the points added. I feel for Servers, ours wasn't that good. Left 15% tip. Usually tip 20/25%. If somebody reads reviews there, please fix your soap dispensers in both bathrooms. Connor was our waiter and was AMAZING!!! He was so observant and helpful. Im dairy free and he confirmed with each and every food item was good and dairy free. I took the onions off my salad and he even noticed that I didn't like onions and made sure there wasn't any on the rest of my orders. I've never had a waiter that observant before. My daughter in law ordered a 13 ounce rib eye and got maybe 6 ounces of meat and the rest was fat and gristle, quite gross. I dread leaving horrible reviews however this is justified. This place exhibited blatant disregard for any disability accommodation. It was my Father's 84th birthday and he wanted to eat here for his birthday dinner. I rang the restaurant and booked a table for six, advising the restaurant that both my parents have disabilities and requested a table whereby they could easily access. Upon arrival, the hostess lead us to a booth despite there were plenty of open tables - one open table even had a family with a toddler. I advised the hostess that we required a table whereby my parents could access due to their wheelchairs and was refused. The hostess insisted we sit in the booth provided. The four of us (able bodied) slid into the booth while my Mother sat at the "head" of the booth and my Father slid to the side. The hostess returned and advised my Mother that due to Fire Code Regulations, she could not sit there and required to slide in. Having looked around and pointing out the amount of free open tables, again I requested her to reconsider joining two small tables and this was immediately refused. By now the waitress came (Selah) and she became aware of the situation. Selah seemed confused as to why we could not be accommodated. At this point, we requested to speak with the manager on duty. We were left alone and after a few minutes the manager came and rectified the issue by giving us the tables we initially requested. My Mother ordered a medium rare fillet; it was way over cooked and tough, that was returned to the kitchen. Meanwhile the rest of us have been served our warm meals, my Mother sat there watching us eat while she waited for her meal. Overall, the portions of the food are small for the price. No compensation was ever offered for the embarrassment and disgusting treatment towards my parents. Clearly they hire young people that have zero concept of customer service or simply don't care. It was our first time at Outback Steakhouse and this experience will ensure that we will choose a better restaurant in the future. We shall never return to such incompetence again. Never again. We have tried to give this restaurant several chances, that has been our mistake, we end up more disappointed each time, last night was the final straw. First, my salad came with red onions, who puts red onions on a Caesar salad? I've NEVER heard of that, I HATE onions, there were a ton of them, it looked like a prank there were so many!! Next, the lettuce was so rotten, it was completely inedible! How could anyone allow slimy lettuce like that to leave their kitchen and actually charge money for it? Not that it wasn't bad enough, there was also no cheese or croutons, it's like they just tossed parts of whatever they had in their garbage in a bag and called it good, I had to throw it away. Then, my husband's salad was just as disgusting and his sandwich didn't come with any au jus or horseradish, the bread was hard as a rock too. The entire thing was a total waste, just garbage, we might as well have walked over to our trash can and dropped $60.00 in it, we could've saved ourselves some time and frustration!! We had not been to Outback in over a year and were surprised how few people were there when we arrived. Our server was kind and friendly, but not very attentive (especially given how few patrons were in the establishment- there was even other wait staff just sitting around on their phones). My husband got green beans for a side that came with bad dark spots and the stems not trimmed off which was sad (he ate around it though). His steak was cooked perfectly however, and the baked potato was good. My salmon over rice was over seasoned in my opinion (quite salty, and my husband agreed when he tried it in case it was just me). Dessert was a surprise because there was no nut disclosure for the brownie and it definitely had walnut in it (I have the geographic tongue sores to prove it). The manager assured me I was mistaken, and I assured him I wasn't trying to get out of paying... I was just concerned and wanted to bring this fact to his attention. He did not seem concerned at all. We paid our bill and left. Overall I've had worse experiences but I'd say "Likely will not return". read more

It has been more than seven years since we last ate at Outback Steakhouse, at the old Lancaster location, so I was happy to try the new Keizer Station location. I think I was additionally motivated by Outback Steakhouse appearing on an episode of the TNT Network's "On The Menu." The building is beautiful, and I love Outback's Australia-themed interior -- but. But, but, but. Despite the new, shiny digs, the dining experience hasn't changed for the better. We started by ordering an appetizer, a Bloomin' Onion, described as 'hand-carved by a dedicated bloomologist, cooked until golden and ready to dip in spicy signature bloom sauce' / $7.99. Our onion was delivered, not "golden," but a dark mahogany to chocolate brown, overcooked to the point of being inedible. Even the spicy signature bloom sauce couldn't mask the burned and bitter taste. This epitomizes our visit and my disappointment with Outback Steakhouse's service: the cook overcooked the onion, but he put it up. The hot plate dude had to have seen the onion was toast, but he put it on a plate and sent it out. Our server, Raymond, had to have seen it was ruined, but he brought it to our table and served it. Guys, it shouldn't be like this! Where is my "golden?" We sent the onion back to the kitchen, and our server, Raymond, removed it from the bill. He did offer to replace it, but the mess had killed our desire for onion. Soups and salad came next. The Clam Chowder and Signature Baked Potato Soup (topped with melted cheese, bacon and green onions), were both hot and delicious! One awkward point was that there were two sides, both soups, with the Clam Chowder served in a cup, and the Baked Potato Soup was served in a bowl. We pointed this out to our server, who said oops, that's a mistake, and to let it go. The Blue Cheese Pecan Chopped "Signature Side" Salad was served without pecans, and barely any Blue Cheese, but otherwise was good. OK, dishes cleared, and a long wait for entrees. Long wait. Raymond came by twice, refilled our waters, and assured us our meals would be right up. More long wait. The electronic pads on the table were a nice gimmick. You can order from the menu, it had games available (to make the long waits more bearable?) and a "Call Server" feature. After deciding we had waited long enough, we pressed it. It is gratifying, high technology and all -- the light on the top of the pad flashes, and a message is sent to the kitchen. Very nice, or it would have been ... if somebody had actually showed up. Eventually, the pad gives up, the light stops flashing, and displays the message "Wait staff cannot be reached. OK"? No, not OK. Also, although I am feeling like a fool, with this light flashing away on our table, I am also surprised that nobody else stopped by. The kitchen staff ignored our call, and plenty of staff walked by, and clearly saw the flashing light in this dim restaurant, but nobody stopped. Eventually, our entrees came. Grilled Chicken on the Barbie / $8.99. Grilled chicken breast with BBQ sauce and served with fresh seasonal veggies, plus one side. Good deal, except Raymond then tried to charge an additional $4.99 for the "additional" side (which was the cup of Clam Chowder). We had to resort to dragging out the menu to prove our point, which he then had to check with the Manager. Despite the hassle, the food was delicious. The Outbacker Burger with Cheese / $9.99 (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and mustard) was served with Aussie Fries, but should not have been -- my side had been the Blue Cheese Pecan-less Chopped Salad. I pointed this out to our server, who said to let it go. Alice Springs Chicken / $11.99. Grilled chicken breast, sautéed mushrooms, bacon, Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses, honey mustard sauce and Aussie Fries, plus one side. My family member was really pleased with her meal, saying the chicken was moist and tender and delicious. So, as much as I want to love Outback Steakhouse, I can't recommend it. The Caesar salad really needs someone to check the romaine and take out brown discolored leaves and get a new recipe for dressing. Present recipe is way too bland. Wow! Way to RUIN a Mother's Day! Not to mention, it was/is my sons birthday today! I came in and asked how long the wait was at 2ish and was told 35/45 mins. I said cool, I put my name down. Two hours later, still not sat. I called and asked for a manager. Managers don't typically answer the phone when it's that busy, not good ones anyways. They're supposed to be MBWA. ESP during peak times like this. I have a 5am flight to be on and I have to go to the hospital. This isn't how I wanted to spend my sons 16th bday. Let alone Mother's Day. I called, nicely explained to the "Manager "who answered the phone and in the worst mono tone, lacking care voice physically possible... No apology no sincerity no nothing simply, he asked me if I was a walk in or if I had a reservation. Two hours over my time what the heck difference does that make? I told him that I walked in and I asked ahead of time before I put my name down. He then told me that call ahead to get priority and they should've told me that when I checked and still no I'm sorry no nothing no genuine empathy no care for anything and I can't believe this person named Robert was actually a manager because if he were managing my store or my restaurant I'd be out of Business! Had it been up to me, I would've left. But there were two other hungry people in my party and they've been waiting just as long as I have-and in the rain and cold no less. I've completely lost my appetite and I wouldn't recommend coming to a restaurant where they have managers such as this one who don't apologize when they make a mistake, but rather make excuses for their errors instead. It's our 42nd wedding anniversary today. I don't go to steak houses often but wanted to have a nice dinner with my wife. The young lady at the front was friendly enough. They didn't look too busy on a Tuesday night. We sat for about 15 minutes before a waitress finally came over. We were ready to order our food and our drinks by then. They brought me my salad and we didn't get our drinks until well after I had finished it. I tried to chalk up the bad service to them having a bad night. But the whole time we were there no one ever came over to our table and asked us if everything was okay. My wife's garlic bread was an overcooked crouton. Also, don't play the trivia games on the device on the table. I tried and it told me it was unable to connect, but it connected fine enough to charge me ninety nine cents.
