Lilotang is a new casual dining restaurant that Josiah Li has so capably created along with the…read morealready acclaimed Chairman Yip, Malamay and Lantern Rooms. There is a lovely modern feel as you enter - the walls are in birch and moveable so it can so aptly cater for variances in group sizes. Light and 'airy' there is a overall feel of being in a low key and relaxed envoirnment where fine food matters will occur. And they do, and there are some standouts - the Pork Belly sewers are in a delightful sauce; the char grilled cold eggplant in sesame sauce is tasty and from the mains the Pork Spare Rib in black pepper balsamic soy was good as was the Lamb cutlet with spicy wasabi vinaigrette.....some lovely dishes to choose from.... And if you like Sake there are plenty to pick from...at least 20, and yes the wine list is good too. This place is relatively new so I can only imagine what it will be like as it 'matures'.

Fully booked of course, but a HK student waiter was smart to suggest if we were happy to eat in the bar area sitting on high stools. We did not mind at all as the bar area was relatively quiet with a street view. The smart waiter suggested the tasting plate menu at $65 each min 2 people which was perfect for me and my wife. Each plate was served , nicely cooked and explained to us what it was. The Japanese style dessert as recommended, Mucha ice cream, torfu with syrup was a surprise to end the meal. It was a dining experience. The Japanese beer list was awesome , the two we chose were delicious and so different from the Australian beers. Would come back again to try other dishes. Very reasonably prized . Good value.

Great food, friendly, professional service, and you get the pepper grinder ON THE TABLE (not…read morebrandished at you by the wait staff). French toast with berries, compote and marscopone was delicious (if a trifle sweet for me). Toast with poached eggs and avocado was cooked perfectly and served with the freshest lemon. Coffee was fine in terms of flavour (not "great"), but perfectly extracted and tricky soy microfoam spot on (unlike some more dedicated coffee joints around town). Best brunch all round. Also enjoyed the low-key funk/soul on the sound system today. Nice airy fit-out and decor, and plenty of outside seating

The smoked trout tortilla is a great, high protein way to start the day, while the sausage and egg brioche burger is a significant upgrade on what you could get at other *ahem* breakfast outlets, with crunchy and fresh tasting bread and a rather delicious onion marmalade. I haven't tried the lemon pancakes but they are on my to-try list. The meals are well presented and just right in portion size. The prices are reasonable in Canberra terms but beware the sides- I paid $3 for the mushrooms, which was literally one medium size mushroom. Be sure to make a reservation as its a popular place, and bring cash if you plan on splitting bills.

As visitors…read morefrom Hawaiʻi on a business trip, we appreciated how close it was to our hotel (just a short walk from the Realm and Burbury), and the added bonus that the free Wi-Fi reaches from the hotel and works reliably inside. One thing to note for first-timers: while the doors open at 7:00 a.m., they only serve coffee at that time. The kitchen doesn't open until 7:30 a.m., which can be a bit confusing if you're expecting breakfast right away. On our first visit, and for my first time, I had the zucchini + corn waffles with smoked salmon - a lovely surprise. Friends all around also enjoyed their unique meals. The barista's menu offers what most Australia cafes tend to have, but as tourists, we loved every sip of our cups to get our day started. Overall, it's a convenient spot with good coffee, reliable Wi-Fi, and some standout breakfast items--just keep the kitchen hours in mind if you're heading over early.

Need to send these owners to NY for a lesson in the magic of a solo diner- they are fast, like maintenance and appreciative. Unless they are stuck in a dark cold corner and ignored. Food is okay.
