This place was recommended to me, so I decided to go check it out. This restaurant (as far as I know there is NOT a hotel here) was unlike any I have ever been to. You select and then grill your own steak! You aren't limited to just steak - they also had pork chops, chicken, and shish kebabs made with chicken and veggies, in addition to the multiple cuts of steak you can choose from. I had the New York strip steak. This steak (and most others) was quite thick. They give you the raw steak, paying at this point, the slide down to the other end of the counter for sides. Here you can get some salad and there were a few other sides such as potato salad and maybe 2-3 other things. If you continue along the wall, right next to the doorway to the other room, there is a table with sauces and things you can use to season your steak before you grill it. Then, you go to the grill, put your steak on it, and grill it. You grill it however you like.
At this point I need to point out there are a few other things going on at this restaurant. If you go through the door next to the sauce table, you essentially find a completely different restaurant. This one cooks your food for you and I am told is quite good, but also a touch more expensive than the grill your own steak part. Back on the other side of the main room there is another doorway that leads to a bar. If you want anything to drink while eating here (maybe not the other restaurant), this is where you'll have to get it.
My steak was pretty good, though there was a fair but not excessive amount of fat on it. I did not see any steak sauce like A1 that I am used to being served with steaks. However, my biggest complaint with the place was the lack of guidance. I was basically given the steak and had to figure out the rest by myself. Having read this, you should be good to go, but I did not get to season one side of my steak and one side may have been overdone because I didnt realize you can get a separate plate for salad, causing some of my salad to stick to my steak, causing it to catch fire once I put it on the grill. My steak was about $20, which was a fair price.
Overall, I think it's a cool place and I'd go again. read more
