The whole place feels warm and cozy, and you can tell a lot of thought goes into every little detail. The location is perfect, right in town and walkable to everything. This is a motel, not a hotel. We had a comfortable one night stay, but this property could use some updating. The location is amazing, offering a short walk to main street, where all the restaurants are. Rooms have microwave and fridge. Beds are comfortable. Parking is free. There is a complimentary breakfast, which is pretty good. There are two hot tubs on the property. I would like to acknowledge housekeeper Patty. She helped me find the ice machine, which is located to the right of the reception. There is also a vending machine and guest laundry. Ouray is a charming mountain town well worth visiting. We stayed here one night between visiting Mesa Verde and Black Canyon of the Gunnison NPs. The staff were exceptionally welcoming. The room was very clean, but could use updating- especially the bathroom. The continental breakfast was slightly above average, but nothing to write home about. It was a very nice walkable distance from Main Street, and we enjoyed the Mountain Views from the room and balconies. read more

I have mixed feelings about this inn. * I was pleased to know they accept dogs, and the fee was fair ($30 per pet for the duration of your stay) however upon checking in, they seem pretty anti-dog by the laundry list pet policy form you have to read and sign. It was mentioned dogs are not allowed to be on the bed and the dog pet area to relieve themselves is an extremely tiny area. I was traveling with two dogs and let them know immediately after booking my reservation that I did have two dogs, and upon checkout i went into the office to check out and get a receipt and luckily saw I was overcharged for (3) dogs. To their credit, they corrected that without hassle... but I assume had I not gone into office and checked out it may have been missed. * The room itself was spotlessly clean, so kudos to the housekeeper for that! Great job! The outside premises were tidy also. * The bed was what I believe to be a full or a small queen so pretty tiny but very plush and soft! Pillows were way too firm and thick for my liking but luckily I brought my own! But beware... THICK pillows with not much give! One thing that wasn't super great was the bed only had one accessible side to get in. The other side was about 4 inches from the wall since the room was super tiny in size... half the size of a "regular" motel room. *Bathroom - the bathroom was clean, had a nice vent window in the shower area which I liked and also loved the little baseboard heater in the bathroom. The water was another story! I'll attach photos, but it was continually gross brown water... now I previously managed a hotel for 15 years and have family who own hotels and it's not uncommon to get sediment buildup in pipes in rooms infrequently occupied now and then but usually after you run the tap for a few mins it goes away. This was not the case! I took 3 showers in two days and and the person with me took 2 or 3 showers also... long 15-20 min showers and the water continued to be gross and brown. I don't know what's going on with the water and did not complain to the staff about this as I figured they probably don't have a way to remedy it.... But definitely DO NOT drink the water! It's probably safe, just very unsightly and they should fix and filter! I probably would not stay again, but if you're looking for a more inexpensive motel place, it's not terrible. read more

We stayed a few nights and this was a great, super affordable stop. The whole town is walkable from the inn. The owner's were lovely and having a complimentary happy hour glass of wine before dinner was a delight. Not to mention a great breakfast spread - waffles, cereals, breads and yogurts. My wife and I stayed at the Ouray Inn for three nights during our honeymoon, and we had a wonderful time there! The location is unparalleled--tucked into the mountains in the "Switzerland of America." You're surrounded by gorgeous mountains. In addition to the amazing location, we were well cared for. Since it's a small, family-run business, the hosts were able to attend closely to all of our needs. Moreover, the continental breakfasts included home-cooked, fresh foods. We really enjoyed our stay here. We have a 90lb dog and they were able to accomdate us. Its an older building built in the 50s, so cosmetically there are a few updates that could be done but nothing that bothered us. The location is perfect right in town and you can walk to everything. They gave us a map during check in showing all the dog friendly places, but after calling around, in the winter there are zero places who allow dogs. All the dog friendly places are patio only during the summer and most patios close when its cold out. The rooms were cute with tall ceilings which was great. A little fridge, microwave, and small tv. The shower got super hot which was amazing. The bed was comfy with lots of blankets! The staff was super friendly. Sonia even sent me a text in the morning to let me know they had the hot breakfast out. From 430-630 they do free wine and cookies in the office area and they have tons of games! great little hang out/happy hour on cold nights. They had hot breakfast in the morning with waffles, breakfast burritos, muffins, Cereal, etc. They also have some little items for sale in the office for $1 if you get a sweet tooth at night which we did! I somehow managed to lose my key, and there is a $25 charge but they are going to wait a week to charge me because hopefully itll turn up! My only complaint really was the room was freeeeezing when we got there and it took hours to warm up. I had to put on layers and get in the bed lol. But once it got warm it stayed nice and warm! They do have a strict policy of no dogs being left in your room alone, so we werent able to do some things that we had planned but i knew that before coming. Next time we come ill probably take him to the doggie daycare in town so we can do the hot springs! If youre looking for a super fancy and bougie place, this isnt it. But I dont think any of Ouray is lol. Overall we really loved this place and definitely recommend it! read more

The place feels safe and comfortable. The owners let us check in early. The new owners are Friendly and accommodating. The place is easy to find and conveniently located just off the main drive. The rooms are dated but comfortable. Old furniture and decorations (beds, desk, wardrobes, curtains, sinks and tubs), but the beds are firm and comfortable. The sheets are clean and they don't skimp on the towels. We visited in the winter, so the rooms were cold but they have room heating units that work fine. Mountain View's were $10 extra, but worth it. We would visit again and stay here. read more

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at this inn. We only stayed for one night and loved it! The bed felt like a cloud and we slept like babies! The room had a mini freezer a microwave and a coffee maker. In the morning we got up around 7:30 and headed to breakfast. When we walked in the first thing we smelled were the yummy fresh made cinnamon rolls! There was also bagels, yogurt, fruit, waffles and pastries. By far the best free breakfast ever!!!!!! I'm a light sleeper and besides the neighbor closing the door and some footsteps upstairs during daylight hours- it was super quiet during night hours! The Ouray Inn was a pleasent and wonderful find. The hotel I normally stay at was booked so I ended up at the Ouray Inn and now I think I have a new preferred hotel in Ouray. The owner, Kim was so hospitable and made sure me and my photography tour were well taken care of. We usually left before the free breakfast and so she took the extra step to make sure that we had a breakfast to go in our refrigerators the evening before. The last day we got back just after breakfast was served and she was kind enough to accommodate our group getting out the breakfast sandwiches again. The facility was clean and had very comfortable rooms and we always came back to a freshly made bed and clean towels. We had a two room queen and the beds were very comfortable. Rooms have free Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge and a microwave which is a nice bonus. I highly recommend this place. Hopefully it doesn't get to overbooked so I can continue to stay here. Will definitely be back and will bring my tour groups with me. read more

This beautiful little Inn is like a B&B, but you have your own space. You can hang out with others, talk to the owners, but then you can retreat to your room when you want. It's the best of everything. The inn not far from Main St., and you can walk everywhere. It's nice to leave the car at the inn and not worry about it. The breakfast is good, and the owners are great people. Everyone who was there was happy with their experience, and I noticed that the guest cared about the inn, and everyone worked to keep it nice. I saw someone pick up trash that was on the ground. You would never see that at a chain motel. When we were leaving a Corvette club was coming in. Found this spot by driving through Ouray on our Million Dollar highway excursion. Peeped it to find a good rate online, and we are not disappointed. It's family owned and run which gives it a very personal touch. You can tell immediately that this property has a special atmosphere of bringing complete strangers together. The owners are very COVID friendly to ensure all guests are comfortable. They offer a wine happy hour (for free) and also a breakfast bag with a nutrigrain bar, yogurt and juice since breakfast can't be made due to restrictions right now. The thought placed in making it feel like a home away from home is absolutely amazing. We met some of our neighbors on our porch and enjoyed our wine while getting to know some really cool people. That's what adventuring is all about. We are so grateful for finding this local gem in Ouray and will definitely be making this a future stop with family. Stayed in January. Rooms and hotel were clean and fresh. Room was small with limited storage and no place to sit but bed. Comfortable bed and linens. Pay Laundry was convenient. Breakfast was good, coffee weak for us. Maybe more attention to having hot water and coffee during day!Afternoon wine and cookies a nice perk. Nice view of mountains. If you're planning to stay in Ouray, you won't beat Ouray Inn for both value and service. Kim was incredible and super engaging. She really went out of her way to make sure that my stay was 5-star. The breakfast each morning was enough to get me through until supper, and the evening wine service was a very nice touch. Great way to wind down the day! My room was always tidied by the time I returned from the mountains each day without me ever seeing any housekeeping staff. The microwave and small refrigerator in the room was perfect for me, since I like to prepare and keep my own food when traveling. I was also happy to have a great A/C in the room. Anyone who travels in the mountains knows that this is usually a rarity. Next time I'm in Ouray, I'll certainly re-book at Ouray Inn. Great price, service, location...everything!! read more

What a find! This unassuming motel is one of the best motel experiences I've had in many years. The physical facility is not special though it is immaculately clean and comfortable. What makes this extraordinary is the owners. No matter how much they do for there guests, the want to do more. I had sprained my ankle shortly before arriving: They helped me to my room, arranged pillows do I could elevate that leg, offered to call EMS, brought me food and drink and checked on me regularly. My friends who were with me were also treated as royalty. Kim, one of the owners, was indefatagible in her effort to care for her guests. This quaint little gem is right off of Main Street and within walking distance to eateries and shopping. The staff is extremely accommodating and willing to help out any way that they can. Very disappointed. We reserved a pet friendly room one month in advance for our ten-year anniversary based on the excellent reviews and nice pictures of the hotel. We were so disheartened when we saw our room. The room did not look like the pictures online. Our room was behind the hotel near the hotel dumpster facing old cars that rarely moved. The interior of the room was disappointing as well - the deadbolt lock was broken and missing, there was no alarm clock, no telephone, no headboards, and no chair with ottoman (as stated in the email confirmation). It was a bit disconcerting to be put in an alley room with a broken deadbolt lock and no telephone. What's more, the room was dirty, the rug clearly had stains from a past guest when we arrived. In addition, the room was not refreshed on our second night which we have become accustom to with other hotels. We contacted the owner after the first night's stay asking if we could have another room the next night, and we were told that none of the other pet rooms were available. The owner said our room had nice views and was recently renovated. If that was the case, it seemed odd that the owner did not include exterior or interior pictures of this room on the hotel's website. When we checked-out, we reiterated our disappointment, and we were given an empty apology and no effort to rectify a huge disappointment. As a last attempt, we emailed the owner with our concerns when we returned home and did not hear back. Our small wish for our special occasion was to experience the hotel and rooms as shown on the website. Needless to say, we won't be returning to the Ouray Inn. Since we plan to visit Ouray on a regular basis, we looked at other hotels before heading home and were pleasantly surprised to find nicer locations, better quality rooms, and lower room rates. read more

Perfect location near Main St. Hospitality was excellent all around! The bed was comfortable. The room was on the small side but we didn't spend much time there so it wasn't an issue. We brought our own folding chairs in for seating. Kim and her crew hosted a July 4th BBQ which was fun. They had rubber ducky races down the stream in front of the property which was a kick! Only one frustration...because the Inn was full, two of the three days we were there, the hot water ran out. Overall though, this is a place worth checking out! read more

Everything was perfect from the organized check-in to the complimentary wine during Happy Hour....along with laughs provided by Woody. They were unable to serve their usual breakfast due to COVID, but they provided a continental style breakfast that was given to each of us upon check in.
