At around 4.30 pm on a January Saturday there were a few customers who seemed happy enough with their tea and cakes. The 'smile and greet' from the serving lady did not happen and she told us the closing time was 4.45 when in fact it was 5 pm.(pic) We wondered why ! We only wanted tea for two and this quickly appeared and we paid the reasonable price of £3. Later another staff member convinced us that they have good allergy policies in place with little risk of cross contamination of food on display. Parking is free and adjacent, easy disabled access, comfy cushioned chairs and everything spotlessly clean with a grade 5 hygiene certificate on display. What a fantastic hidden gem!…read more Off the beaten path but well worth a drive. I had coffee and breakfast here a few days ago--delicious, and very cheap. Sat with my laptop for awhile. So I had to come back for their "Sunday Roast" (afternoon dinner feast). Three courses of delicious homemade food, everything scrumptious, only £16. Such a great value. OMG was the food good. REALLY outstanding. It's a bit of a drive from Bath but it's also glorious country and you can leave the traffic and tourists behind. Will definitely be back.
