Short story: Love Persian food? Come here. Period…read more Here's the scoop. I had an interesting Friday in Ottawa. I had my car's windshield chip repaired. I then went shopping. At around 2 pm, I felt like a late lunch. I did a search and found Silk Road Kabob House nearby. Perfect! It's located in a large plaza with lots of parking. I backed into a spot and walked in. There were two diners when I had arrived. I had a nice woman welcome me and was my server during my entire stay. This place has combo specials. I had brought my appetite and ordered two of them: - Mantu (six) - Lamb combination (lamb kabob and koobideh kabob) with salad and basmati rice I got water and a Diet Coke to start. Both were cold and perfect to enjoy. I got starter naan (silk bread) with butter. The naan was so good. It was baked fresh and hot, allowing the butter to effortlessly melt on it. So good! I ate the whole thing, which I normally don't do. My mantu came out first. I got six of these steamed dumplings. They were filled with onions, and ground beef and lamb. They were drizzled with yogurt, with split peas sprinkled around each dumpling. OMG! They were fantastic. Each one was packed full of flavourful filling. The wrapper was the perfect thickness that kept the filling in, but wasn't too thick that made you chew incessantly. The yogurt and chick peas were paired so well with the dumplings. I highly recommend getting mantu here. My lamb combination came out next. There was so much food. I surprised myself by polishing off everything because the entire meal was delicious. The lamb kabob was yummy. The morsels of lamb were tender and seasoned nicely. The lamb koobideh was a ground lamb kabob that was nicely seasoned and equally as scrumptious as the lamb morsels. Excellent! The salad was fresh and crisp. I enjoyed it so much. The basmati rice was generous. It didn't have a whole lot of flavour, so I recommend mixing it up with the proteins and salad. I paid with a credit card. I tipped and all was well. Before I left, I used the washroom. It was clean. It was to the left of the counter at the back of this eatery. I let the nice woman know that the food was excellent. She was pleased. I wished her a pleasant day and left that I waddled out the door with a content tummy. I miss the food at this eatery. If you love Persian food, especially lamb and mantu, come here. You'll be so happy with the food here. (322)

The mocktail was delicious - just the right amount of tartness and sparkle. The soup was complimentary and the perfect portion to whet our appetite. Mast Moosir ( yogurt and bread) appetizer got us ready for the main course. Vaziri Kabab and Atlantic Salmon Fillet. All the protein was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Staff was very friendly and attentive, providing excellent service. I love the call box on the table to let them know when you're ready to order, have any questions, or ready to pay your bill. We'll be visiting again, and will certainly be ordering take out for the family!

Atmosphere is very elegant.. but the food no where near the original one! The plates were smaller and portions smaller. The chicken was very dry, I loved their sweet rice and upgraded my side rice to it, but serve forgot so instead 15 minutes later she brought en the toppings to add myself to my how cold rice :/ the complementary mushroom soup was ok.. bread was not fresh and warm..we loved that they gave the kids little boards to keep them busy! Hope they up the quality like the one in orleans :(

We didn't want chain fast food that would make us feel icky during our drive, and my mom quickly found this place. Had no idea what to expect when we walked in. Honestly didn't even know if it was open because the lights were off and not really any music was playing. But we were greeted and sat at a table near the window since we were the only ones in there. I ordered the Ashe-Reshteh soup and the Fattoush. I devoured both as they were incredible. That Ashe-Reshteh though... I still dream about that. It warmed not only my belly, but also my soul. Mom had lentil soup (very good, but mine was more my favorite) and fattoush as well. I'm sad as I'll probably never be in that region again, but if I am, I'm immediately returning to ParsItal. Thank you for the wonderful lunch. We loved it so much.

We were really happy with our experience. The lady who served us was very friendly and gave us helpful suggestions on what to order that would go together. We ordered the garlic shallot yogurt appetizer and the barbecue eggplant appetizer, and split the lamb shank. All were fantastic! The lamb came with a big plate of rice, and all the flavors were different yet melded well. We saved room for the homemade Persian ice cream for dessert that we heard discussed at another table. One order comes with three scoops, so it is definitely enough to share. The ice cream was flavored with saffron and other spices, and flecked with tiny crunchy pieces of pistachio. It was really delicious - fresh and herbal-tasting. We are so glad we stopped in to this place for dinner. Highly recommend.
