I booked for a shellac pedicure and dip redo on natural nails. the tech broke 2 of my natural nails which is always upsetting as they take time and effort to grow. my nails were finished they were good but not perfect. After my nail service I was scheduled for a pedi with shellac appointment which I was suddenly told would not be happening because my nails took too long.i did not want to argue so I hesitantly said ok to. I sat down to get my shellac removed from my toes for no more than 3 minutes and was accused that it was dip and that it wasn't coming off. i was asked to "find somewhere else to go" and leave. bottom line I was rudely treated and sent away with my shellac chipped: peeling off on my walk home. very dissapointed In the way I was treated.

The service is always friendly, courteous, and professional. I have never had a bad experience here and I've been coming since it's soft opening in December, 2016. Sis2 has the widest range of nail polish colors I have seen in any salon. They use a fabulous Asian brand and a terrific technique to remove shellac polish. I typically come for the nail services, but I have had a massage as well. It was quite good. You cannot beat this place for it's convenient location and hours, and the prices are excellent. I will never go to any other salon in Ottawa.

They bounce me around from one nail tech to another, and they do not all the same level of experience. My most recent experience might have been my last, I received a gel overlay with Shellac and usually it is no issue getting in and out in an hour. Since the tech took longer than expected to remove the last colour and shape my nails, she wasnt able to give me a proper gel overlay since I had to be out in an hour and 20 min. About 20 minutes into the appointment I had to mention that I had another appointment, I thought I gave myself more than enough time (I am seasoned at getting my nails done so I expected the typical hour appointment). With the time she spent shaping my nails, I would have expected them to be better shaped but they were not straight and were not the almond shape I requested. Since we couldnt complete the gel overlay properly the shellac colour did not go on properly and it is uneven and thick. As a loyal customer, I would have expected better service and better quality.

From the service side, I was disappointed because I don't like it when the nail tech doesn't pay 100% attention to the customer. She started speaking in her language to another employee there every now and then. Then, I realized she was almost training the other employee at doing nails, and was explaining how she was doing it. At first that wasn't too bad, but then after 30 min, it seemed as if she paid no mind to me and just forgot that I was a person, not just a pair of hands, so she offered no conversation or involved me in any way-- nothing. I was happy with my nails, so in the end, I wasn't mad. It's just not ideal, from a service perspective. ---I went in a second time, and got Mel. She is amazing! I told her I didn't have much time for a full acrylic nail process, and we came up with a short cut that looked just like the full 1hr process. She went straight at it, no distractions, and my nails were perfect! She made my day--basically week, because she was so careful and quick. No cuts, perfect coating, and exact shape I wanted. I would choose her again and again! ---The third time I came to get an upper lip wax, and got Amy. She was quick and the wax they use is really effective. It's the first time the wax works so well on me. It was a bit messy, some got on my nose, but I didn't mind because she got it off before it dried. She was running behind on her last appointment, so I had to wait for about 5-7 min. And before being done with me, she went up to talk to a customer that walked in to the office. I wondered that why with such a quick procedure, she wouldn't just finish with me first and then go see the other customer, or had an extra employee to take care of the front. Oh well, it wasn't a big deal-- just not ideal. A tip if you're getting this done is you should wipe some alcohol on your upper lip every night to avoid little bumps or redness. ---All around good place, just not too high on customer service. And I've noticed the bedding area is not always very clean or has any place to leave your purse or jacket while you get something done.

Their tools were clean and so was the entire salon. This was my first manicure since I was 14 years old and I am now 28 so yes it has been a very long time. LOL! I was very happy with how my manicure turned out. The colours I picked were called Emerald lights and sir teal to you. These two colours gave my nails a sort of mermaid look which I absolutely love! Even after I expressed discomfort with the brand, they kept pushing for that one single new product that had nothing to do with treating melasma. They steered me away from the one product I trusted and knew worked for me, insisting instead on something expensive that, in reality, does not treat melasma or dark spots. It became clear their goal was not to help but to push sales and meet their targets. I even overheard when I turned last minute, Amber one of the staff members bragging to her colleague about convincing me as if it were some sort of competition. I paid around $100 for a product that does absolutely nothing for my skin. When I tried to take time to check reviews and make an informed decision, they repeatedly interrupted and pressured me to buy immediately. To make matters worse, a senior staff member approached when they noticed me checking and promised gifts and samples with the purchase but when I paid, I never received them. This was manipulative and left me feeling taken advantage of, especially as someone who came in with limited product knowledge. Be warned: do your own research, and if you know what you want, go directly for it without relying on their "advice." The staff here care more about upselling than about customer needs, and they'll push whatever is most expensive not what actually works for your skin.
