    Garlic bread- $8
    Maya B.

Went out as a family gathering, there were 11 of us. Service was decent while we were waiting for the rest of our family to join us but was hard to get service after we had ordered our meals. My cousin asked for a little thing of ketchup for my uncle and it took 20 minutes to arrive. It arrived after they had taken away the plate it was needed for. Service was a 4/10 but it was a busy night. Food was overpriced and ok at best. I ordered the classic pasta with linguine and Alfredo sauce which for $20. Pasta was chewy, but the sauce was ok. I expected to get a little more for that price other than just pasta and sauce but I suppose it was ok. My sister, who is celiac, who we told staff was celiac, had a poutine and was sick about an hour later. She hadn't eaten early and there was no way this 'glutening' had come from anywhere else. The menu promoted itself as a gluten-free safe spot and assured us that her meal would be prepared with upmost safety in mind. She had ordered from the gluten free section of the menu, and still fell sick as a result of it. My cousin and I ordered a $8 garlic bread that resembled a pizza and it was okay. Overall, bad experience and would not recommended coming here, especially to any fellow celiacs! Also, my dad got food poisoning from this sort of salmon tartar. He was throwing up the whole night. Do not recommend.

Last Sunday, I was spoiled and was brought to the Restaurant Ottavio in St Laurent for dinner. It was delicious. We went on a Sunday night so it was pretty quiet when we first arrived. Later on during the night, it seemed to get quite full... of children with their parents. (We found out later on that children eat for free on Sunday nights). For starters we got the Garlic Bread Gratiné and my date was right- it IS the best cheesy garlic bread I've ever had. For the main meal, he had Linguine duck cont ...(cream, teriyaki, duck, prosciutto, shallots, sesame seeds) and I had Angel hair four tomatoes ... (tomato sauce, cherry tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, bruschetta, bocconcini). Oh my gosh, was it good. IMG_4217 IMG_4218 We both had leftovers because the portion you get is definitely worth the money. The atmosphere was very comfortable and we were comfortable being a bit dressed up (it was our first official date- very, very nice). You can make reservations online and they have three locations: Laval, St Laurent and St Léonard. It IS bring your own wine & beer so keep that in mind! I will definitely be going back- I will probably want to try every single thing on the menu.

All you can eat mussel special (from Monday to Wednesday)

Went there at lunch time and had their 13$ make-your-own pasta special. In all honesty, the pasta was just average but then for 13$ you wouldn't expect much, really. The real deal was definitely their all-you-can-eat mussels promo that is currently going on from Monday to Wednesday. I had their "le diable" mussels, which is supposed to be on the spicier side but then, meh, I could use some more spice. If you were to name your mussels style "le diable" I would at least expect it to be just a tad bit spicy. I still kind of liked the tomato taste to it, so it wasn't that big of a deal. All in all, I would say that it's pretty affordable during lunch but I would probably only come back for their mussels. As for the service, it was a bit slow and the waiter barely bothered to come to check up on us and we had to ask several times to get our glasses of water refilled.

Food and service at this branch are within my range of satisfaction. I would say the overall dining experience with my parents and husband was nothing "Wow" but we left a good tip for the service. We wanted the mussel for our starters but they were out of mussel that evening. We will be back one day.

Californian gluten free pizza. I was so excited I forgot to take picture before I started eating.

Always go at lunch time for the special. Pasta is really good. Went to supper one time but was way too expensive and also not the greatest.

The restaurant seems to be very popular for birthdays or special group gatherings. What interested me in the first place was the large menu, there is a good selection of everything so it easy to please a picky eater. The restaurant itself it medium sized, there is a small parking lot and free street parking. It is located in a very residential neighborhood. The interior style and vibe is fancy, higher end, white table cloth and intimate. We were seated and served very promptly. Our main meals were the penne romanoff which is a pasta in a rosee and vodka sauce, along with the grilled lamb chops. This is served with a side of potatoes and veggies but we were able to swap this out with a side of simple olive oil and garlic pasta instead. They serve complimentary flat bread and buns to start. The pasta was delicious, extremely rich and flavorful, and pretty generous in portion. The lamb chops were dainty, cooked well and tasty however we expected more of an herb or seasoned crust to these -they only had a sprinkle of herbs on them. Service is super speedy and efficient, we were in and out very quickly since we did not order anything else. I would highly recommend this place for pasta, if you live in the area, take out would be ideal. The pricing and portion is very reasonable. I would definitely come back and want to try other things from the menu, we saw several other dishes at nearby tables and everything looked delicious.

Let me tell you a little story about a little restaurant that could. It's a little restaurant…read morecalled Le Saint-Jacques. This little restaurant has been operating for about for years. My girlfriend spotted this little restaurant hidden from any main Street. One of those little restaurants that you drive by and blink and you missed it. And that's ok because this little restaurant is filled with regulars only, where the owner calls you by name, pats you on the shoulder and treats you like family. This little restaurant has nothing hip or trendy, you don't get served by strippers or hipsters with oily beards and man buns, they don't play loud music and you don't have to scream your conversation. No it's a quaint family owned restaurant, with a charming homey décor that seats 30, maybe 35 guests, tops where you get served by the owners, the chef is the owner's daughter, assisted by her husband. This little restaurant has a menu that lets face it doesn't reinvent the wheel, straight up Italian and French cuisine (trust me it works) but as with all meals, it's all in the execution and boy does this little restaurant execute well. The menu is simple and short. This is good. It leaves more room for quality. The opening was a simple soup, a potage, a cream of carrots and ginger. Perfect balance between the sweet of the carrot and the spiciness and bitterness of the ginger. If this was a preview of things to come, we were in for a great meal. I could have eaten a bucket full of that soup. This was followed by this giant veal meatball served in this perfect tomato sauce that I licked up from the bowl with bread once I was done... the meatball was perfect melt in your mouth goodness, no weird spices or weird add-ins. All that topped with slivers of Parmigiano Regiano (hope I spelled that right). Seriously delicious. My girlfriend had fried shrimp wrapped in angel hair pasta served with a balsamic and maple syrup reduction. Looked awesome but I'm allergic to shellfish so I can't taste, but it was an eye crossing mind blowing experience for her. The owner then asks us if we want to get the main right away or wait. We took a break. But the owner brought us a complementary plate of bruschetta which were just perfect and non acidic and not too salty (common mistake) Then comes the main. I had duck confit served with roasted vegetables and this crazy ass potato mash that's so simple and yet so perfect. The roasted vegetables was equally delicious. I was expecting the duck to be super fatty because it was confit, but it was well balanced and the accompanying sauce was... it was.... I dunno what it was made of and I should have asked but it had this fruity taste that just married perfectly with the duck, I want to dare say it was cranberry but I'm not sure. All I know is that I was thrown for a curve. Perfectly prepared, fall off the bone, perfectly seasoned and very flavorful stuff. My girlfriend had the pistachio crusted rack of lamb and there's no describing how good that was. The chef really has a knack for cooking meats perfectly. And the accompanying sauce was disturbingly tasty. The meal was concluded with the classic tiramisu, often drenched in alcohol, but not here. Equilibrium was achieved. It was sided with fresh blueberries and caramel. POW! My girlfriend had a 3 chocolate layer cake that was very chocolaty but not over powered with sweetness. The owner even introduced us to regulars sitting next to us and we became momentary family. He gave us nicknames: Francesco and Angela. Our new family was friendly and even shared with us some of the shoestring fries which were freaking awesome. By the bucket please. Outstanding service. Mind blowing food. Subdued and welcoming atmosphere. So this obviously gets a 5 outta 5. We'll be going back and we'll bring more people.
