Had a diagnosis that required autoimmune disease specialist. But because I take pain medication this doctor refused to see me.

What kind of world do we live in where HEALTHY uncomplaining patients get FIRED for not visiting on…read morea regular schedule. I was raised to visit a doctor when you need one, so that sick folks get the attention that they need. I could not be more infuriated over this practice of letting go of long time patients. We went from being most sought after by insurance companies for NOT taking advantage of the system to be NOT sick or important enough to be added to a physicians patient list. You all are adding to the stress and poor mental health status of the general public - shame on all insurance and doctors for treating us this way....hopefully you won't need a wellness vistit any time soon.

I have known dr alley a very long time i was a patient for over 10 years and i have known her…read moreoutside of that longer, i went to her with a personal problem that was out of the ordinary and didnt have many options to get my grandma good care from a good doctor she lives out of state and doesnt have a doctor her but cant go home due to how much pain she is in so no one would see her less than a few months away as a new patient and already tried the ER she needed a general physician to help diagnose what was going on and more than likely it would only be a few visits or sent for a few tests to get her anle to travel home she is 90 and thats all she wants is to go home. Needless to say i call to appeal to her to try and get her to help as a favor for something that doesnt happen very often but to see her at least to try and see if she could help her so i asked her to call me back told her nurse the situation and she didnt even call me back had her nurse do it and gave me about four excuses why she couldnt do it, said she wasnt seeing new patients but she wouldnt be a new patient she isnt going to be a fulltime patient she would only need to see her these few times and that was it and a few others things she gave as reasons i guess. I always thought doctor alley was a great doctor and really cared about people and when someone was in pain and in need, im not saying she isnt a good doctor but she obviously doesnt care about people the way i thought and if she couldnt even call me to tell me that in person after i asker her to nurse to have her call then i dont think shes as good of anything as i thought and i was extremely disappointed by that. Now my grandma with have to more than likely wait around in alot of pain to see another doctor somewhere and who knows how long that will be and if the doctor will even care enough to even really try and help her because lets be honest we all know there are doctors that dont care. And it would have only taken a little bit of her time to help this 90 year old mother of 9 children grandmother of 28 and great grandmother of im not even sure how many now. This is a long and probably unusual review but i was upset enough to write this right after i talked to her nurse again. so i wouldnt have even given one star if i hadnt mistakenly clicked on it, if anyone does know of a good doctor that could see her in the next week anywhere around the buckeye lake and surrounding areas i would be open to any suggestions she could use as much help as she can get

Made me drink water for over 4 hours for a drug test for a pain medication agreement I signed. I drank so much water I got diarrhea and shit myself and puked in the bathroom. They sent me home. I complained that they made me do that and threatened to report them. So they had me come in the next day and do the drug test again. I did. The next day I came in the office and the nurse came out from the back and had a paper with all my medications listed with a line and an arrow from top to bottom of the paper crossing out all my meds. Said they were dropping me as a patient because they claimed I had "ABSOLUTELY NOT ONE MEDICATION I WAS PRESCRIBED IN MY SYSTEM"! Which is absolutely a bullshit bold face lie because I took my medications on time every night for years and never missed. Especially in 15 medications. They simply dropped me because I threatened to report them for malpractice! Then they wouldn't release my medication history to my new Primary Care Physician! Said they would no longer communicate with me or any of my doctors because I reported them and used the word "Attorney"! We're rude AF! Incompetent. Entitled! Condescending! Absolutely the worst Drs, Nurses, and Receptionists I've EVER!!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYBODY GO HERE! I HAD DR. DYAR AND I USE THE TERM DR LOOSELY, ACTING AS A PSYCHIATRIST PRESCRIBING PSYCH MEDS INSTEAD OF GIVING ME A REFERRAL TO A REAL PSYCHIATRIST THAT KNEW WHAT I NEEDED!!!!

I began having heart issues in May of 2021 and after seeing my family physician and undergoing…read moretesting, was diagnosed with both PVC and SVT. Two years and several medications later.....not to mention three ER trips and quite a few doctors visits.....my physician referred my case to Dr. Reinig. The first appointment I went to I was full of anxiety. Let me backtrack.....I'm a cleithrophobic. If you aren't familiar, it's not a great phobia to have for closed door office visits and future unknown places and procedures. Spending the first visit just trying to make it through my panic attack....I unfortunately heard nothing Dr. Reinig had to say. Not his fault....totally mine! I should have spoken up and didn't. A few days later I called back in to his office and explained what had happened and they set me up for another appointment with no issue at all. After my 2nd appointment that I went into armed with all my uncertainties and questions, Dr. Reinig was understanding and compassionate and answered all my questions. I felt comfortable enough to schedule the heart ablation to control/fix my heart issue as the medicines just weren't working for my specific problem (due to being asthmatic I could only take up to a certain milligram and it wasn't enough to control my SVT).  For part two of my story...it was decided that Dr. Hattoum would be performing my ablation. I was again nervous, because I had not met Dr. Hattoum. Restart anxiety. Upon leaving I immediately began researching him. I ran across his statement on one site that read: "I want to give my patients a safe, comfortable place to treat and manage all heart rhythm issues using the most advanced methods, and most importantly, a you-centered focus."- Alexander Hattoum, MD I thought to myself, no way will my anxiety needs be met and no way will I be the focus. My heart will be (which is awesome and obviously the reason I'll be there) so that will just have to be enough. I have to get through this, I have to get this done.  I called the office for the third time and asked if I could get an appointment with Dr. Hattoum so I could meet him and talk about my phobia issue and how we could manage it on the day of so I could follow through. I didn't want to waste his time or mine on the day of. I was met with listening ears, compassion, understanding and honestly just a down to earth cardiologist who took more than enough time to explain everything that would happen on the day of and how we would manage it and most importantly if I couldn't follow through, we wouldn't and would continue trying additional medications (that I already felt likely wouldnt work because I had been on several during the course of two years). It was truly a "me centered focus".  Arriving at Fairfield Medical, from the moment I walked in, pre op, op and post op, I was so incredibly cared for. Every single person! For me not to feel anxious is virtually impossible, and I didn't (not abnormally anyway!). I never once felt like I was just a number on the list that day. I felt seen, heard and understood and the care I received from Dr. Hattoum and his team that day will forever be appreciated and I will forever be grateful. Thank you FMC for having an amazing team of cardiologists and supporting team!
