Went to Skate America in Grove City and don't ever plan on going back. Their parking lot is small,…read moregravel, and has many holes. This is a very small facility; I've never seen a smaller roller rink. There should have been a cap of how many people allowed in, because it made skating and just moving around inside so difficult. Everything looks at least 30-40 years old here, our booth was wobbly and unstable. The carpet was old and stained. It was very challenging to move around on the carpeted areas, but also the rink, due to the extreme number of people in the building. I felt like I was in a packed bar or club. I can't overstate that there were way too many people and children. The rink itself is painted concrete, which I've never seen before. It is somewhat uneven, you can feel the small rises and falls in the concrete, but it's not too severe. There were A LOT of children with the little PVC skate-aid things, but skating as an adult was made extremely challenging & nearly impossible because of this. The music they played was fun, and there was some interactions from the DJ, like a backwards skate only, and "all girls only skate," and then "all boys only skate," for a song each. I did like that there are ceiling fans over the rink, to cool you down. The ceiling felt really low, which I think made the whole place feel even smaller. The bathrooms were pretty clean and well stocked, but I didn't like that there were no hooks on the bathroom stall doors. They did let me bring my water bottle in, which I appreciated. There were lockers, but we didn't rent one. Overall, this place is probably fine if you're a kid, but terrible if your an adult skater looking to skate. Go to United Skates or America on Refugee instead!!

As a frequent flyer here at Easton Chiller and have been to countless other ice rinks in a handful…read moreof different states and countries I can honestly say I am very pleased with the Chiller organization. *covid 2020* I don't know who posted about the chiller not enforcing the Ohio mandate for masks but that is completely untrue. I have seen staff inform consumers that masks and 6feet spacing is required. There are not only signage everywhere you turn but the staff are continually cleaning and making sure the rules are enforced. I am at the rink for hockey 3-5 times a week between practice games and open skate. Thank you Chiller Staff for all your hard work keeping the facilities running safely so our kiddos can still have their season. As for the Chiller Easton I would rank the ice arena in our top 15. There are two sheets of ice, actual dressing rooms, a small concession stand and room for viewing above and around the ice rink. There is even conference rooms to rent out for parties and such. And the biggest plus the Chiller is open year round! Need somewhere to cool off during the summer months this is the place!

The Ice Haus is a very nice rink attached to Nationwide Arena where the Jackets practice. If you're…read moreever at an event in NW, you can see the ice from the North side of the arena and will probably see St. Charles or Upper Arlington high schools practicing there in the Winter. The Blue Jackets also allow the public to come in on certain days and see their morning skate sessions, which is pretty cool. Since the place only has one rink, public skating is pretty limited, but they do offer after school skating on Fridays as well as late night adult skate on Saturday nights for anyone in the area looking to get on the ice. Occasionally they have drop-in hockey, mainly during the off season, but they do offer a pretty competitive drop-in hockey early Friday mornings (if you can wake up and get there by 6 am). The facility offers skate sharpening and all the basic provisions that the other Chillers have, but they don't have a pro shop here, so don't expect to purchase any equipment (minus hockey tape). It really is a great ice to skate on, especially since it's the only rink in Columbus that provides natural lighting, and when they offer up more public skates in the Summer, I highly suggest checking it out.
