Ranked as the 6th best burger in the world by Food and Wine magazine in 2024 ("Organic beef…read morecheeseburger with onions, pickles, and a house Gasoline Sauce. $16 "), the Gasoline Grill hamburger restaurant has multiple locations throughout Denmark. It's one of those things where I was glad I stopped by, but didn't really experience anything with the food or ambiance that would make me recommend this as a out-of-the way stop that the ranking would seem to suggest. This one is the original, using the station building as a walk-up window with the kitchen inside. They have a few picnic tables on the side for outdoor dining, and I do think that it's important to eat the burger as soon as possible. The interesting thing is that it is still a working gas station, with an island with multiple pumps dispensing petrol (which I didn't see being used during my wait) and some electric charging stations (which was actively being used). I was able to place my order (nothing customized, just wanted exactly as they described after about a 10 minute wait, got my lemonade right away, and waited another 10 minutes to get my food (everything is made-to-order). The cheeseburger was 110 DKK, fries was 40, lemonade was 35, and dipping sauce was 10 with 10 off for being a combo. So total was 185 DKK (about $28.88 in USD). The process and food reminded me very much of a Shake Shack, with the young workers working together to produce well-made smashburgers using great ingredients. The color scheme reminds me of a Wingstop, though. I squeezed between a couple of single diners and dug in. The burger was good, with that loose smash burger quality. It came with a mayo based thousand island like sauce (their gasoline sauce), and had tomato, pickles, red onion slices, and a gooey, plentiful cheese. The lemonade was good, and the hint of elderflower made it memorable. The crinkle fries were good, well done fried which I appreciate. Ate the meal fast before my hands started to freeze up, tossed the remains in the gas station islands garbage bin and was on my way. I really do think a food like this is all about where you eat it...if on an airplane, or at a ballpark, or at the beach...yeah, I could see the appeal. But at a gas station in freezing weather on a picnic table...not so much.

This place completely hit the spot. The burger was everything you want; juicy, flavorful, and…read moreperfectly cooked, with just the right balance of toppings that didn't overwhelm the meat. The bun held up beautifully without getting soggy, and the fries on the side were crispy and golden. You can tell they really care about quality ingredients here. The ambiance was great too; casual and relaxed but still with a cool vibe that makes it feel like more than just a quick stop. It's the kind of spot where you can hang out with friends, enjoy good food, and not feel rushed. Service was excellent. The staff was friendly, quick with recommendations, and checked in at just the right times without hovering. Everything came out promptly, and you could see they genuinely wanted customers to have a good experience.

Since day 1 we've been itching to give it a try but schedule just didn't permit it. So we made it a point to dine here on our last night in Copenhagen. True enough it didn't disappoint. Came in without a reservation on a Sunday night and we were seated right away. We decided to get the "As good As It Gets" combo which includes the following: Sesame Edamame - soya beans, grilled with supreme soy & sesame Hotate Kataifi - scallops, miso aioli, trout roe, kataifi & shiso cress Kani Korokke - crab croquettes with wasabi caesar Ebi Bites - tempura shrimp, miso aioli, chili, lime & coriander Tuna Tartare - tuna, avocado, sesame, miso, yuzu and spring onion on crispy flat bread Shake Tataki - salmon, sake-tamari marinated trout roe, daikon, miso, ponzu & daikon cress Hiramasa Kataifi - hiramasa, kataifi, chives, shiso, truffle oil & ponzu Temaki Setto (create your own handroll) - wagyu tartare, lobster & yuzu, kataifi, cress, soya sesame, avocado and sake-tamari marinated ttrout roe with sushi rice and crispy nori Ebi Panko - tempura shrimp & spicy sauce, topped with avocado New York Subway - tempura shrimp, avocado & spicy sauce, topped with salmon & garlic gindaro no miso, black cod & miso Hotate Bacon - scallops & bacon with miso herb It may sound or look like too much but we definitely devoured every single bit of the set. We paired our meal with Purple rain and espresso martini Excellent service. Excellent food! Definitely a must try. April 2026

Our server was also very friendly and provided good recommendations on the menu. The place was lit dimly like what a bar would be bit it was still packed to capacity that night. After perusing the menu, we elected to ge the "As Good As It Gets" set which included a Sesame Edamame, Temaki Setto (create-your-own-handroll), Come for a Swim (hot & cold small plates), Grilled Sticks (black cod and scallops), and Nigiri (Ebi Panko & NY Subway). This was a lot but we nibbled on it pretty fast. We paired it with my Purple Rain while my wife matched it with her usual Espresso Martini. Everything we tried was fresh and great tasting. Would definitely recommend this spot to any Japanese cuisine lover.

Brownie points sincerely for still being open at 1130pm and onwards until 2am... YES TWO AM!!…read moreAs someone who was rushing from the airport after landing at 1012pm, I truly appreciated that a local spot was still open... even though the streets were empty and we were the only table. I ordered the DANISH NATIONAL DISH and FRIED LIVER (I believe they are #19 and #20 on the menu). Interestingly, the server recommended something similar (another pork belly dish) over the national dish; stating it tastes much better and much softer... which I probably should have went with this recommendation since the national dish was TOUGH AS BONES. It wasn't crispy, chewy, or tasty. It was simply inedible. One couldn't even chew or cut through the meat... the side of skin on mini/small potatoes were simply boiled. The beet dish was delicious. The sauce didn't have much flavor (crazy how extra sauce costs 35 DKK more). The VEAL LIVER dish tasted better than the national dish ironically. Gave a tremendous portion. The potatoes were skinned. The gravy had some taste compared to the other sauce from the national dish. Decadent pickled cucumbers which provided a nice palate cleanser. Mushrooms gave a nice chew, a much appreciated and welcomed different texture. ***the bread given was not good at all*** ***it seems that water, even if it's from the sink or obviously bottled by them, costs money in any establishment*** SERVICE: Kind. Attentive. Enthusiastic. Spirited. Happy. Since it was our first meal in Copenhagen we were a tad blown away by the price tag of each meal to the point we thought it was a meal set. The server calmed down those nerves and reassured us that all dishes on the menu were à la carte. Loved the small talk he attempted :) VIBEZ: Still had Christmas/holiday decor haha. Great for a night out/date. Casual with a sprinkling of fine dining. No service fees included in the bill. Great for large groups. Located in the city. Didn't have a car; therefore, I cannot vouch for parking. Close walk from/to the metro though! Would I come back? No, but I am elated I can cross off trying the danish national dish on my bucket list. :)

The salmon it's self was cooked perfectly. Gently grilled on the outside and moist on the inside, and vegetables were perfectly seasoned. The sauce on the fish was an excellent touch. All in all, it was worth the $. He also recommended Carlsberg Pilsner. Beer that is popular in Denmark. I was tempted to get another one! And finally the desert. Wow, I would fly back to Copenhagen just for this! He recommended the Gammeldags æblekage (apple strudel), it was divine. Thank you for the excellent food and service. 10/10.

I only took off one star because the time it took us to get our first course was about 40-45 minutes after being seated since they got the order wrong and the ravioli in the main course was lacking in flavor. Everything else about the meal was SO good- the cheeses in our charcuterie course was AMAZING (I'm not even someone who likes cheese). And I cleaned my plate for the creme brulee dessert! The portion sizes were also very generous - we all wished we came with an emptier stomach! Just make sure you come with a lot of time to spare because we didn't leave until 11pm.

We were interested in trying the Scandinavian cuisine, so we decided to stop by. The menu had an English section, which we appreciated. The waitstaff was friendly and patient with us. We ordered the mussel soup to share (absolutely divine. We should have ordered one for each of us instead of sharing it! It was so good!), the truffle chicken (the chicken was cooked so perfectly and was extremely tender and juicy), and the linguine (super fresh and perfectly al dente with a rich sauce). The bread with whipped butter was also great. I think the butter had truffle in it, but I'm not positive. It was delicious. The restaurant is located next to the King's Gardens and is a short walk from Norreport St metro station. The ambience is comfortable and intimate; definitely a neighborhood gem. I'm so happy we tried this place!

This place was aggressively overhyped, to me. Easily my least favorite meal of my trip to…read moreCopenhagen, but the viral spaghetti/butter/caviar dish is worth a visit. Did a late-ish dinner on a Sunday, with a reservation and as a solo diner, they seated me at the bar. Service was friendly, but also felt like they were kind of rushing me through everything, when I wanted a casual, leisurely meal. I wanted some advice on what to order (I knew I wanted the spaghetti with butter and caviar but not sure what else) and I felt a bit pressured to order more than what I was really hungry for/wanted. Spoiler alert: it was, in fact, far too much food. Highlights: The sourdough foccacia with whipped ricotta and honey is as very tasty and very filling. The spaghetti/caviar dish generally lived up to the hype, but was a bit heavy for me. The portion sizes here, generally are pretty decently sized, and make sense for sharing with another person. The Low Points: Rushed, service overall. I felt pressured to order very quickly. Food came very quickly. Drinks were almost a little slow, despite sitting at the bar. The pacing was just off overall. Too much food - should have ordered less (that's on me), but also I felt pressured to order things I wasn't sure I really wanted. The halibut crudo was okay - good flavor but just seemed heavy-handed on the cuts and textures. The monkfish + fusilloni is one of five least-liked dishes of 2025, very close to the top. The monkfish was so overcooked and chewy it was inedible altogether and the whole dish just felt very bland. At the end of the meal they tacked on an automatic service charge, which I'd never seen before in Copenhagen (maybe this is becoming more common, but I didn't see this at any of the restaurants of my trip.) Overall, pretty underwhelming meal and I'd be hesitant to go back. The price vs quality of the food + experience just didn't deliver for me. I liked the spaghetti butter caviar dish but also felt like I could make something like that at home. If you're trying to prioritize where to eat in Copenhagen and only have a few meals to choose from, this is skippable to me.
