Heard that the best place to try carbonara was in Rome, and it was incredibly delicious here - creamy, fresh, and so flavorful. Far surpassed any carbonara I have ever had before. Also tried their cacio e pepe, which was also the best we ever had. (And they were also the best of anywhere else on our trip to Italy!). They don't take reservations here - you just stand in line and wait for your table to be available. We only waited about 20 minutes, and we took a table outside. Overall, highly recommend stopping by for some delicious pasta when in Rome.

Everything is fresh, delicious, and full of flavor, and the service is always amazing. The oxtail is absolutely incredible, it's the kind of dish that makes your eyes roll to the back of your head. So, so yummy! And the carbonara!!! Oh my. Easily one of the best I've ever had. When I told our server how much I loved it, she reminded me, "It's the best in the world!" After tasting it, I can't argue with her! If you're in Italy and looking for an unforgettable Roman meal, go here! You won't regret it.

Opened few minutes early for us. No coperto. Waiter very patient in explaining the foods to us. FOOD: 5.0. Excellent Roman food served with pride. - Parmigiana di Melanzane (Eggplant Parmesan): 5.0. Beautiful presentation and taste. Light, not heavy. - Stringozzi all'amatriciana: 5.0. Outstanding. The waiter made sure we understood that it was made with pecorino cheese, NOT parmesan. (He almost sniffed as he said it.) When we reported to the server how much we enjoyed the food, his humorless expression transformed as he smiled and beamed with pride. AMBIANCE: 4.0. Cool interior with dark wood decor, and smooth jazz playing at background volume.

Portions were massive, and this was the perfect amount of food. The dishes were hit or miss for the most part - for appetizers we got the artichoke and the proscuitto and melon. We loved the latter, but didn't really care for the former. Amongst the main dishes, we got the gnocchi al ragu, seafood risotto, tagliatelle al ragu, spaghetti al vongole, and amatriciana. The gnocchi and vongole were not great, as the gnocchi was super mushy and vongole was pretty bland. The risotto had a good seafood flavor though. Our favorites were the tagliatelle and amatriciana (which was the star of the show) - perfectly textured noodles and great flavor. Overall, not a bad spot but you can definitely find better.

The bufala pizza is AMAZING and unlike anything I have ever tried in America. I will make my sad attempts to recreate it, but nothing is better than the real thing. The service is impeccable, it was super hot and they had this sprinkler thing attached to the umbrella that sprayed customers to keep us cool! The campari spritz also hit the spot! I will be back here next time I am in Italy! First time, we were staying in Piazza Novona, so it was pretty close, but the second time we booked it for 35 minutes in 90 degree weather to go there. Also, they give complimentary cherry wine drinks at the end. :) Also, this is my 100th review- wooohooo :)

For example, there were many dishes like "cheese ravioli" that indicated a fish allergy. After checking they said there wasn't fish, but they need to make sure their allergens are accurate. Anyways, the service was a it slow but everyone was friendly. The meatballs were pretty good, but the cacio Pepe was a bit bitter, I think because of the sauce they use. They also charges us for tap water which I haven't seen done before!!

I ordered the Arrabbiata pasta and my wife got the cheese, bacon, and black pepper lasagna. Both dishes were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. Honestly, this was the best pasta we had during our entire trip to Italy. You can really tell there's a lot of care and passion that goes into the food here. If you're looking for a cozy, authentic, family-owned trattoria in Rome with amazing pasta, I definitely recommend giving Trattoria Alfredo e Ava a try. We would happily come back!

It's intimate, cozy authentic Italian charm. The staff here are wonderfully kind and welcoming, making an already memorable meal feel even more special. Show up right at opening if you want to secure a table immediately, as this local treasure fills up incredibly fast! We started with the artichoke, which was quite possibly the best artichoke I've ever tasted in my life. Ubelievably tender and served bathed in rich olive oil that elevated every single bite. The Amatriciana was my personal favorite dish of the night, featuring a rich red sauce packed with a subtle kick of heat and finished with a generous dusting of fresh Parmesan. The stuffed chicken was remarkably tender, juicy, and wonderfully seasoned with delicate flavors that don't overpower. Lastly, the lasagna was everything a classic lasagna should be: wonderfully cheesy and deeply comforting, yet light enough that it doesn't weigh you down. Easily one of my favorite dining spots in all of Europe. I already can't wait for the day I get to return again!

It has been a long day for me, Ricky Sausage, and my sister, Sally Sausage. We have scoured the…read moreVatican looking for clues to where the Declaration of Independence is hidden. We both believe the film "National Treasure" is a prophecy but all of the clues actually reside in the Vatican. Do you believe that too? After collecting sufficient evidence and finding the next clue for the location of the artifact, we were hungry! What better place to eat than 433? We arrived around 9 and the outside patio was packed. An amplified violin player wandered the tables. We didn't mind sitting inside, so we were seated immediately. Less immediate was actually getting service, which took around 15 minutes. Which is fine! Lest we be the Americans in a Rush. As we waited, our eyes scanned the restaurant for additional clues to the whereabouts of historic artifacts. Sally scanned the walls in a trance. Among the art, she appreciates "...the naked butt and Walter White and the queer table. From far away, it looks like the logo says 'a**'." Our waiter takes our order and returns with our drinks, lickety split. Sally remarks on her Prosecco, "tastes like 'a**'. I can't say I know what that tastes like, but I can 'a**'-ume. The bubbles are full of 'a**'." I ordered the Negroni. It was standard fare. The only unique element was that it came with a lot of ice. I enjoyed it! The food comes out equally quick. We begin with the Caesar salad. Sally munches and crunches and says, "Dare I say the best I've ever had..? A lady finger crouton tastes like a lady. The finger! In circle form..." The dressing on the salad is a delight, light and flavorful. Next up is the beef fillet. Sally chews and says, "Blood in my mouth... So good, so blood... Feels like I'm eating red 'a**'." I agree! Finally, we have the Tonnarelli Con Pomodorini, Basilico E Scaglie Di Parmigiano. Sally notes, "Very thick hot noodles... Tastes fresh like the pope on a Tuesday - red-hot like pizza supper! The noodles are thicc but it matches the theme of the restaurant. Feels like I'm eating 'a**'!" We round out our meal by enjoying a glass of the house red. "Tastes like swirly 'a**'. I thought it was blood from the steak... TURNS OUT, It was from a grape. And you know what kind of grape? The 'a**' grape..... Grape from an 'a**'..... Which is? A grape." We were stuffed to the gills with delicious food and drink. Our bloodhound-like noses were re-energized for clues and now we have a fresh scent for 'a**.' Who knows where that scent will lead us! Thank you, 433333!

Decent food, pizza and pasta dishes. Good service. Nothing bad to say. I'd eat here again.read more
