Don't forget to bring Euros before ordering! This place won't take credit cards or dollars. That's…read morewhat I did and had to walk to Monte Carlo Bay Casino, a 2 mile walk, to the nearest ATM. I stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant, which has an unobstructed view of the Mediterranean, during a lunch walk with my colleague from our office and so of course I had to take Nicole. It's one of those places that you can't resist walking by and saying wow. Well not only was the view great but the food was exquisite. The location of the restaurant is tricky. It is situated near the eastern boarder of Monaco but on French soil. You'll find it less than 1.5 miles west of Monaco on the Path called the Sentier du Littoral, which is an ocean side trail that runs all the way to Italy. It's not easy to find but once you do, you'll see placards of it (see picture). I would take a cab or walk from Monaco. Most of the roads leading to it are blocked. We ordered a bottle of Côte du Rhone red and sparkling water. The red was much like a Pino Noir, not too light and not too heavy. As an appetizer we shared their fried calamari. Stupendously delicious! The breading on the squid was prefect and if you are a calamari lover then you'll love some of the long tentacles they had. Tasted like the essence of ocean. Sitting among a garden of palms and different planted flowers with a seaside view, for the main course we ordered Mediterranean Sea Bass which came with sautéed medley of vegetables including peppers, olives, tomatoes, and zucchini, and fried gnocchi cubes. Nicole pointed out that the olives along the Mediterranean are much milder in flavor than in the US and are much more palatable and agreeable. The Mediterranean sea bass, not to be confused with a Chilean Sea Bass, had the consistency of trout without the gamey flavor, was presented to us twice: first, right after it had been prepared but not filleted on a beautiful serving tray; it was presented again on a dinning plate for dinner. Evidently, the presentation is a matter of equal importance as the service at La Difference, and it showed! At a table next to us were seated a nice couple from Russia and Turkey whom we discussed everything from our working vacation to our gastronomic adventures. They also had the sea bass and commented it was served a bit dryer than they were used to in Turkey, which also boarders the Mediterranean and has access to the same fish. Wonderfully sated, we retraced the steps I had taken back along the shore to the Monte Carlo Bay Casino on this nearly full moon night. It was a great night.

Had their house red (medium finish), Dieci Monferrato Rosso, for about 10euro - you cannot beat this. Guests drank the whole bottle and literally ran a marathon the next day. This was delicious with our pasta and would go perfectly with any meats. Amazing and perfect meal in Milan! The service was impeccable and staff was super kind.

Since Mink did such a good job picking a restaurant for dinner, I asked her to pick a restaurant…read morefor lunch the next day while I explored around Parco Sempione. She found Nerino Dieci but they were about to close for lunch so we rushed over. We got there with time to spare. The bartender greeted us right away and asked if we had reservations. We didn't so we stood in line to be seated with everyone who didn't have reservations. The place was full! When you enter, you immediately see their bar area. To your left, as you face the dining area, you see the grilling area. It's very clean and organized! It didn't take too long to be seated and we were happy they could take us so close to closing. We were provided English menus. Since we had time to check out their offerings online while we waited for a table, we had screenshots of what we wanted. It was a little hard to find the corresponding menu item with the screenshots at first. Our server came over and took our order when we looked confident with what we wanted to order. Just to be safe, we also shared photos to minimize errors. We ordered a Tagliolini with Clams and Spicy Salami, Tonnarelli with Cheeses, Pepper and Bacon, Milanese Veal Cutlet with Rocket and Cherry Tomatoes, Natural Microfiltered Draft Water and a Glass of House Red Wine. Our server asked how we wanted the food to come out and we said all together. It didn't take the bar long to get our drinks to us. After some conversation, our food arrived and it looked amazing! The Tagliolini with Clams and Spicy Salami along with the Milanese Veal Cutlet with Rocket and Cherry Tomatoes arrived first. Minutes later, the Tonnarelli with Cheeses, Pepper and Bacon arrived. The clams in Mink's dish were very tasty and the pasta had a slight kick to it through its sauce. We both really enjoyed the cutlet and completely finished it. It was huge so that surprised us that we finished the plate. The Cacio e Pepe was very cheesy and rich. It was really good but heavy. The food is delicious here and we can see why they have earned so many good reviews. Good customer service from the entire staff and they work nonstop due to how busy they are with the lunch rush. Another awesome find by Mink.

The crust was thin and had just the right amount of sauce l, cheese and toppings. I put chili olive oil on top and crushed peppers and added a great pop to the pizza. For dinner I had the lasagna al pesto. This had the green pesto sauce instead of a tomato ragu. Delicious! I'm going back to try some of the other specialties. Service was excellent, no waiting for lunch but dinner you should make reservations. Mostly Italian spoken, but proprietor also speaks Spanish. Very nice people.

Woman at the counter did not seat me but offered me the dessert and coffee to go. She Stated this is a pizza restaurant not a bar. Ouch! I understand the concept of her restaurant but her delivery was very discouraging. As an American visiting for the 1st time I felt embarrassed and uncomfortable. However I sucked it up and took my items to go minus the wine. I can tell this is not a normal thing as I was given the coffee in the equivalent of a plastic shot glass and a strip of foil paper covering it. She knocked me up for $7. I'll be here for 3 more days and will NEVER take the 3 steps it takes from my hotel to return. Even the two employees looking on were puzzled. They stared at me the whole time and one was shaking his head at the woman as if to gesture "unbeleavable"
