Jesus, this restaurant has no business being without a Yelp listing. We had our best meal in Italy…read morehere, by far! After a handful of subpar meals at well reviewed spots in Tuscany, we were leary about trying these guys. Aside from not being on Yelp, they have a listing on a popular travel site with so many positive reviews from people with only 1 review that I could have sworn they were all fake. But no! This place is truly spectacular! From start to finish our lunch was amazing. We ordered the traditional Tuscan pork chop served with tomatoes, olives, onions, bacon, and fennel seeds in a red wine sauce (it also came with white beans in tomato sauce), the veal scallopini with a cream and mushroom sauce, served with a side of home fries, and the spaghetti with artichokes, garlic, and olive oil. First off, the pork chop was ridiculously flavorful. With every bite of that perfectly cooked chop I was savoring the sweet tomato and onion, the bite of the black olive, the distinct fennel taste, the smokiness of the bacon, and of course let's not forget red wine. Just sensational and so great that I had to sop up the remaining sauce and juice with their awesome crispy bread. While I only had a few bites of it, it was immediately clear that the scallopini was also excellent; the meat was expertly prepared and very flavorful while the sauce was silky smooth, with a vibrant mushroom flavor. The home fries were a great accompaniment too. I hate home fries back home because almost nobody cooks them well. They're typically sitting around on the side of a grill just being kept warm and usually lacking a good solid crispiness. These were friggin stellar. Freshly cooked for the entree with the ideal amount of crispiness (I suspect they cooked them in a cast iron pan) along with a hint of flavorful butter, salt, and pepper. Finally, the spaghetti was a super simple dish, but a joy to eat. Fresh artichokes, heaps of garlic, good solid olive oil, and a light sprinkle of parm made this a keeper. After 3 great dishes there was no way we weren't getting dessert. We went with the panna cotta and a house made apple cake. Both were absolutely fantastic. Hell, even the coffee was great! These people have really created something special here. My hat's off to you guys!

First we received a tour of the wine cellar and then had what they call a "light lunch" and wine tasting. The lunch was anything but "light" but it was fabulous. It included an "appetizer" of meats including prosciutto and cheeses including Parmigiano Reggiano, a first course of the best Tagliolini Bolognese I've had that made jarred Ragu sauce look like red water compared to a sauce with depth, flavor, texture, and a meaty taste that seemed illegally good. In fact, it was better than the many Tagliolini Bolognese pasta dishes we tried in various restaurants in Italy. The next course in our "light lunch" was roasted Pork loin with creamy beans, followed by the best Tiramisu I've ever had. Sorry to keep using the word best, but it was creamy and satisfying in a way that I have not experienced previously with Tiramisu. Oh. I forgot. This was a wine tasting! It included six wines including chianti, as well as other varieties of red and white wine. including what are called Super Tuscans. Overall, it was an idyllic experience which we enjoyed immensely.

Creative yet rustic dishes of a tremendous variety, mainly offering wonderful bites. Our 14 year old is quite picky and yet adored the Ravioloni tradizionali al pomodo fresco con gelato al basilico so much we ordered her a second portion. Other highlights: Cubetti di maiale caramellati al forno con gelato alle senapi di Digione - unctuous and surprisingly Asian in flavor Tartara di Chianina con gelato alle senapi di Dijone- the horseradish gelato was a wonderful surprise Homemade pici with ancient grain flour with Val di Chiana garlic Rabbit in florentine way with spinach Ricotta cheesecake- wow, cheesecake has never been this good! Typical Siena cake with almonds honey candieds and spices The service went from a bit unhappy with us at the start (perhaps they underestimated our appetites as we were without a booking) but became quite friendly by the end. The interior art is lovely if you can't sit in the garden, so don't worry, and I loved the platters and linens.

Best of all was the staff, Gennaro, and owner, Melissa and I think Giovani, they were so friendly and welcoming. I had the ravioli and my husband had the grilled pork chop, it was so lip smacking good he is still talking about it. We went back a second night for the huge steak we were told they'd be serving. After being in Italy for nearly a week my husband was missing his meat. They did not disappoint. The steak was ginormous and grilled to perfection. We loved this Osteria and can highly recommend it to others.

He and his staff speak very little English but this did not restrict our experience at all. We sorted out a reservation online which you can do with their website. Very simple. The menus are in Italian with English translations underneath. We had the mixed fish starter, which was cooked calamari, crab, mussels, shrimp, etc in an unbelievable sauce. Then I had the linguine with clams.. simply amazing. I also tried my 2 friends' dishes which were also great. The best thing here are the prices! So low. We got a bottle of house red wine for like 10 euro. All cocktails were 3.50 euro: vodka martini, negroni, etc. We also ended with the sponge cake, the tiramisu, and the fruit with cream (this one not in the dessert section of the menu but another section). The sponge cake was the best, but just barely in my opinion. With a few espresso's the whole bill was under 70 euro for an ABSOLUTE FEAST for 3! We will definitely be back. This place is a TRUE HIDDEN GEM of Tuscany.
