If you come to Parma you have to have prosciutto and you have to have Parmesan and that is exactly what I did. I ordered a warm panini with a huge amount of prosciutto and melted Parmesan. It was so simple yet so perfect. I accompanied it with a excellent glass of glass of the local sweet 'Malvasia Dolce. This was probably one of the best lunches I had in my entire Italy trip and also one of the cheapest. I finished it off with a tiramisu and an espresso. My favourite part of not only the restaurant but Parma is the lack of tourists. I was the only none Italian in the restaurant and there were practically no tourists in the city. A very welcome change from more touristic areas like Venice and Florence.

His Parma ham is just THE BEST (source: I grew up in Parma): make it an appetizer for a perfect tasting ("due fette di crudo di Parma")! He also has a good selection of beers, with beers from Germany, Belgium and many other European countries as well as Italian classics and craft beers. Ask the waitress, or simply check out the beer fridge. The place is simple and rustic, prices are very honest and the atmosphere is informal and easy going. You will feel totally at home.

We came every night during our four night stay, and it was always a great atmosphere inside and out. The downstairs bar has a great beer selection. If you look behind the bar, they have shelves with all the bottles, labeled by style. We tried a few new barrel aged stouts we had never come across, some of which were solid 10/10 beers. The food puts them over the top. The cheddar burger is a tasty burger, but the fries. Oh these fries. They are so crispy, so salty, and almost pinched in the middle so they have a little curl. They are so delicious, a real treat to end a long day's wanderin'. Bonus points because all the staff we interacted with was lovely every time we visited.
