It tasted heavenly. Get the fish! Plus the house wine was amazing too and went perfectly with our fishy dishes. Prices are affordable and food is out of this world. The whole time we were there we were the only tourists everyone else was Italian. That being said it is not necessary to get all dressed up although it would be appropriate to do so if one wished. You may arrive by car or by boat as there are many slips along the side of the property. The food was fresh and well prepared. There were 12 of us and they were able to deliver excellent service for us all. We ordered a variety of food, from the octopus appetizer to salads, soups, whole grilled fish and even pork chops. All of the food was prepared perfectly. The menu is extensive so there will be something for everyone, with an especially large selection of fish and meat entrees and of course several pasta dishes to choose from. It is a bit out of the way, but if you do find yourself dining here you will certainly not be disappointed.

When I asked about it, I was told that it was actually a salad. There was no clear indication of this when I was choosing from the menu. For €46, I expected a substantial lobster dish. Instead, what arrived was essentially a normal salad with tomatoes and onions and only a tiny amount of lobster -- more like a few small shreds than actual pieces of lobster. For the most expensive main dish on the menu, the portion and quality were extremely disappointing. Unfortunately, the experience was made worse by the bill. We specifically said that we did not want additional bread, but we were still charged for it, and we were charged €10 for bread. There was also a cover charge that I felt should have been removed given the circumstances. The bread and cover charge are not even the main issue for me. The real problem is paying €46 for what turned out to be a very ordinary salad with a tiny amount of lobster. For Udine, where I would normally expect good-quality food at a reasonable price, this was a major disappointment. I remember the previous owners doing a much better job. Based on my experience today, I would not recommend this restaurant and would advise others to be careful when ordering the expensive dishes. MT
