The "Stammtisch" (German for "regulars' table) is not a table, but a section of bar. Great traditional fare with accompanying beer or wine. I dined on the traditional schnitzel and it did not disappoint as it was accompanied by a great local beer. Keep room for dessert and some schnapps to help with the digestion. NOTE: it is a smallish establishment so you need to make reservations to dine, it is well worth the effort to make a reservation and dine. Guten appetite!

So take a butcher who know hows how to cook and how to respect the cut of meat, add a healthy dose of love of food and Bavarian/German cuisine, and you have a quaint little restaurant near Ramstein AFB/Landstuhl. If you are within driving distance, don't miss this gem! I had the "Garlic Marinaded Pork Ribeye" and selected the pan fried potatoes. OMG OMG OMG ... meat cut thin so two cuts served... the garlic was there front and center but NOT overpowering in any way. A bit of herbed butter, roasted garlic cloves that melt in your mouth, and these fantastically flavored potatoes that are just divine. All served with a generous side of a parsley and ?? Sour cream to die for. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Bring cash, no plastic. I wonder if I can get a free ticket change if I tell Delta I'm "dying"... they just don't need to know I'm dying to go back...
Forgot to take a pic... I swapped out the home made "chips" for the pan fried. Glad I did!

The portions are enormous, the menu is full of comfort‑food classics, and the atmosphere has that lively, slightly chaotic charm that makes it feel like a local staple. I went with a group, and everyone found something they loved. The schnitzel was crispy and well‑seasoned, and the burgers were surprisingly great for a place known for German‑style plates. Service was friendly and efficient even though the place was packed, which I really appreciated. If I had to nitpick, the wait times can get long during peak hours, and the sheer size of the portions can be a bit overwhelming if you're not prepared. But honestly, that's part of the Big Emma's experience; go hungry, go with friends, and expect leftovers. Overall, a fun, hearty spot that delivers exactly what it promises. I'd happily come back.

There's a Deutsche Kantine near my kleber but it does NOT compare to ROB! The schnitzel is a farley large portion, with marinara sauce and melted parmesan cheese on top. The fries (pommés) is good too and ketchup is free but IF you want mayo, you'll need to pay (just FYSA). If you're on ROB, check it out! It won't disappoint you. Just make sure you bring cash (euro).

Before we gave up we called the "Deidesheimer Stuben" to ask whether they would still be able to cook rumpsteak for us since we were told it is a delicacy in the Pfalz just a few hours earlier. Everything worked out and we went to this restaurant. When you walk in it has that nice old and "proper German" feel to it as all of the places we visited in this area. :-) Let's get to the main part - the food. Everything we tried was FANTASTIC! Whether it was the potato soup or the "Schnitzel with Spargel" (Schnitzel with Asparagus), it was all great food. I have to highlight my two favorites of that dinner. We weren't sure what to expect from the "Vorspeisevariationen" platter but we were blown away by the look and taste of this menu item. BRILLANT! And just when you thought it could not be any better, we received the Rumpsteak. Mine was cooked to perfection with delicious sauteed onions and herbal butter on top. As a side I had "Bratkartoffeln" which were very good as well. Food that good with the kind of (perfect) service we were exposed to makes me want to go there every night... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! :-)
