My husband and I stopped at Oshima for dinner on our way to Omaha for the night and had a great meal! We are huge fans of sushi and were excited to find a nice quality spot on the road! Our server was very friendly and attentive, and our food came out very quickly! The ambiance was nice and cozy, especially given all the rain outside it made for an intimate and relaxing meal! We enjoyed our food and hope we can come back next time we do a big road trip!

Walked in for an early lunch and got seated immediately. Service was quick and efficient. Great selection on the rolls. Super tasty and came out super quick. It's right next to a parking garage and if you're lucky there's a few meters in front too. Great, small local lunch spot. Highly recommend

The best sushi in Sioux Falls! Oshima was the first sushi spot I tried in Sioux Falls and it has become my favorite. I've already visited a couple of times with friends and I'm never disappointed. The restaurant is decorated in a way that you feel like you're in Japan! I loved the details the sushi bar had and the Osaka wallpaper in the dining area. I've traveled to Japan recently and would say Oshima offers both authentic and Americanized sushi. I love both! The first time I visited we ordered a boat since it had the best variety mix and chefs choice rolls. After the first bite I knew this was legit. The fish was fresh and the rolls were delicious. The presentation of the boat was also very eye-catching and cool. The second time I visited i ordered the ramen and roll combo which is $15, what a deal! My friend ordered two rolls and was told there was a special so she got a third roll for free. Our table was full and so were we. Service was good, we were seated right away both times and food was served quick. No complaints.

Nicely decorated restaurant reminded me of some of the places we visited while in Japan. I visited on a Saturday night and it was very busy. I was taken care of in a timely manner and the server was kind and attentive. The food was... satisfactory. Everything was fresh and well prepared. I had a House Salad, Spring Rolls, Baked Lobster Roll and Mango Mochi to finish. Also, a Hot Sake. I'm not sure about the Sake. It didn't taste like it was full strength and it didn't feel like it either after I finished the whole bottle alone. The Salad was fresh and the Ginger Dressing very good. Spring Rolls were average. The Baked Crab & Lobster Roll was very good and different than any Roll I've had before. I have to say their selection of Rolls is pretty impressive and it was difficult to choose, especially when Ramen was also offered on the menu. For Sioux Falls, this is probably really good. It did the job for me. I ate well and it sat well in my tummy.

Second time coming here and definitely as impressed by the quality and price of the delicious sushi and sashimi we had. Got the Love Boat Tor with my wife (I ate more than her) but it was very filling and fulfilling! Service was ok, could have been better, but the atmosphere was quiet and enjoyable!

1st time here. I liked this place. It was a small restaurant so it fills up fast. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere. The staff was friendly, but they dont want you to sit at the sushi bar. I thought that was kind of odd. I think they should remove the chairs then. The sushi was fresh and delicious. They have a large menu of many selections of sushi. I tried a spicy girl - spicy tuna inside and tuna, salmon, ikura and special sauce on the outside. $14.50. This roll was very tasty. I always like the spicy rolls. The bad thing about the roll is that its pretty small for $14.50 I also tried a passion roll - salmon, mango and cream cheese inside then deep fried with chef's special sauce. $12.95 This was another good roll. The mango was not over bearing nor the cream cheese. The chef put just a little inside of both inside the roll. I really liked it as well. I look forward to coming back to this restaurant soon.

Nice and comfortable feeling environment, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We were passing through the area while getting service on our RV (we are from CA). And one of the first cuisines we're looking for in every state is Japanese food. We often shy away from places offering rolls because you don't often get the authentic flavors (not to mention they're not often Japanese owned). Well we didn't have much choice in the area and so we took it. And boy were we glad we did! The food was delicious! And we're the ones who goes off ordering everything on the menu like we've been deprived of food for weeks. My toddler's go-tos are SHRIMP TEMPURA, CHICKEN KATSU and SOFT SHELL CRAB. Fantastic on all fronts. Super crispy, katsu was 3x the servings..SASHIMI was cold and fresh, HAMACHI KAMA was delish (they had no idea what daikon oroshi was..) HAMACHI CARPACCIO was great (didn't need all that dressing though). YAKISOBA great (had to take that Togo). SPICY SALMON HAND ROLL had to take a backseat compared to the SALMON SKIN HAND ROLL (OMG!! so crispy). We ordered only one ALASKAN ROLL and it was meh. But that wasn't why it was minus a point. Imagine savoring such tasty dishes, one after another, only to be disrupted by a loud vacuum machine, that just went on and on. My husband was so close to shouting SHUT THAT S$?& OFF!!! Lmao but of course we didn't - we were too busy chewing. You just know that no Japanese restaurants would ever do that. Food fantastic! I suggest working on the ambience. read more

I have heard this is a good place but my experience was not good. I ordered a bento box and it was brought out to the table after the rest of my party had already finished their food. I know why it took so long. They cooked the chicken so much that was now shoe leather. They also never brought me my Miso soup. They will not be getting my business again. read more

We were very disappointed by our meal today. First, the tempura shrimp and tempura vegetables were not made with tempura batter - they were made with panko breadcrumbs. Tempura batter should be very light and crisp. I can make better tempura myself. The sashimi tuna was excellent - wonderful flavor, texture and temperature. Also disappointed by the gyoza. These should be made like a pot sticker - soft on one side and crisp on the other. These were either steamed or deep fried. Miso soup was ok - not hot. Service was good, but the server didn't know what tempura was supposed to be. read more

Talk about options! Oshima has a variety of yummy rolls to choose from. They had the special to buy 2 rolls and get one free during our visit, which gave us the opportunity to try the different options. Each one was unique and better than the last. I'm sure that everyone could find a roll they like at this restaurant. read more

May be the #1 sushi spot in the Midwest! I've tried many and this place always lands on top! A few rolls to try are the playboy roll, 10th street roll, crazy monkey and Godzilla. All amazing along with chicken fried rice and sesame chicken. Can not go wrong with those!! read more

This is a must-try restaurant in Sioux Falls. The fish is rather fresh and delicious, and there are so many roll options to choose from on the menu. I ordered the taro bubble tea here, and it was perfectly creamy and refreshing. The service here is also extremely accommodating and outstanding. I recommend trying the special rolls they have too! I ordered the 41st street roll and it was my FAVORITE here. read more

Best sushi in Sioux Falls, and state. Great atmosphere, to go orders are always fire with girlfriend, I mean this is legit sushi you'd find in Chicago or coastal states idk what else to tell you don't bother eating elsewhere, this is the place. Great staff and location is whimsical and fun to be close to downtown. read more

I am not a huge fan of sushi or any kind of sea food, but Oshimas actually made me enjoy it! With the authentic locale and amazing look of the restaurant, it makes the experience even better. You feel like you belong there and you aren't eating something foreign. I had the ramen bowl and was amazed how it tasted! I'm not a huge fish or sushi fan but this has me hooked. I will definitely be ordering this again! Good place for date night! read more

Oshima takes Japanese to another level in Sioux Falls. It's our favorite by far. Upon walking in you are warmly greeted by an overly friendly staff. Its a small cozy restaurant that seats about 50 or so with light inspirational music setting the vibe. Our favorite here is the lunch. For less than $13 you get 3 rolls, salad, and miso soup. It's a steal! The miso comes out steamy, and the rolls are light and taste delicious. If you're looking for authentic Japanese ambience and food, the lovely folks at Oshima will serve you kindly and effiencently. You won't be disappointed! read more

This place is always fabulous!!! The sushi rolls are always amazing!!! I tried the monkey balls which I've always wanted to try and they were outstanding. They're stuffed mushrooms with cream cheese and spicy tuna and deep fried with a nice crunchy coating!!!! I went with a king tuna roll - inside: tuna, cucumber, cream cheese and outside: tuna and avocado! My husband went with bento box for lunch and was not disappointed. Also we had the shrimp tempura appetizer - which comes with 6 shrimp!!!! Great food and great service!!! read more

One of the best Dragon Rolls I've ever had. Was on a roadtrip through the Midwest and was admittedly nervous to try sushi in a landlocked state. Was blown away by Oshima. The fodd was fresh and delicious. Also their mochi, at least tastes, handmade. 10/10 recommend read more

I was here many months ago. A bit belated. I am a Sushi snob and this being in Sioux Falls South Dakota. In the middle of nowhere!. I rolled my eyes. . Boy!. Was I wrong. Best Sushi place in town. If you haven't tried this place yet, you are missing out. I ordered the Sashimi Combo A. 12 pcs of Sashimi, spicy tuna roll, salad, miso soup, and 2 sesame balls. This the best place in Sioux Falls for sushi , hands down ! I'm never disappointed with the sushi/sashimi . Also if you can try the calamari the best I've eaten however it can be salty but almost always they get it on point ! read more

Hands down best sushi I have ever had. I would recommend the Spicy Lobster and Angle rolls. Very affordable for how yummy it was. Monday - Thursday it's buy two rolls, get one free. I will come back every time I end up in Sioux Falls! read more

We chose Sushi Oshima to celebrate our anniversary with food we love! We were warmly greeted and promptly seated in a private booth. Went out on a limb and ordered the "Love Boat Tor"- Chef's choice of sushi, sashimi, and rolls. Wow and Wow! Incredible presentation and fabulous variety. Fresh, clean...perfect! Highly recommend Sushi Oshima! read more

I love sushi, and always try them wherever I go, this was hands down the BEST sushi I've ever had, from the jalapeño bombs to the rolls, which just happened to be buy 2 get one free, was amazing. Also had the yellowtail sashimi which was out of this world. Great service, extremely fast and all around an amazing experience. You owe it to yourself to try this amazing establishment. read more

But because we had 8 people with reservations and were seated in the over flow room that was so F'N COLD it could have doubled for a meat locker!!! I'm not exaggerating even slightly. We and other tables asked a few different people if they could shut off the cold air blowing from the vents on the floor. We were told there was no way to control it. We should have left but is for two birthdays and trying to find another restaurant on Saturday at 6pm.. not a chance. I'm not even going to go into more about how god dam cold we froze our butts off. If you eat here, expect great food and efficient friendly service. Do not accept being seated in the over flow room under any circumstances. Trust me when I say, leave and go somewhere else. Go back when you're assured your reservation is in the main dining area.

Very disappointing and for someone who comes pretty frequently I don't know if I should come back. This server has served me plenty of times but this was a first, as he rarely speaks. Two weeks ago my check was wrong and I was charged for all my rolls even tho the had their special. They did not fix it at all and still charged me as is. This time I was completely rushed, which I live a tad over an hour away. We ended up disappointed and didn't drink our waters. Sat outside so I could write this because I don't ever write reviews.
