First time at Fuji Ramen. Ordered the Spicy Cucumber and the Crab Jalapeno. Both were good. I love Spicy Cucumber, but I'm a little picky. I don't care for big glops of the gochugaru (pepper flakes), I don't think they add heat or flavor. Spice level could have been a little more for me. Good portion size, good value. The Crab Jalapeno was a bit of a let down. It was OK, but I think it was only one jalapeno that they cut on a bias, filled with some mock crab meat, breaded and fried. They served it on a bed of thinly sliced cabbage. For me, anything including garnishes on a plate should be edible, and the cabbage alone wasn't. It needed a lime/fish sauce something. This dish was lacking for me and why I gave four stars, not 5. I know, I should get a signature dish if I review a restaurant, but I think more can be learned by smaller items on the menu, if they do them well they do everything well. read more

A top contender for my favorite ramen in Sioux Falls. The noodles had the perfect bite, the soup was savory, and the options were plentiful. The serving is perfect sized. Door dashed Fuji on a recent business trip. Loved my shrimp shumai, but the Shoyu ramen was lacking something--I'm not sure what but something In the broth was off, and it tasted kinda soapy. Otherwise, it was plentiful with noodles, meat, veggies, I just couldn't eat too much of it because I couldn't get past the broth taste. Hidden gem of Sioux Falls if you like ramen. The prices are a little higher but I think that's a economic reason. The service is ok. They struggle to understand your order but do the best they can. So we drove by this place a few days ago and we decided the next time we had free time for lunch we would stop by. The prices are a touch on the high side but the food is so good I don't even care. It's not crazy expensive but the bowls of ramen are around $10 a bow. Definitely coming back as often as possible. The crispy chicken ramen and the buns are amazing. I forgot the name of the ramen I ordered but it's the one with pork belly (bacon). Take the plunge and visit this place! Also don't be turned off by the words "black fungus" in the item description... it's mushrooms Update. It's Been a year since I left the initial review and we have never been disappointed. Very tasty-bun was a perfect sweet complement to the slightly spicy mayo. The noodles were slightly chewy as should be in a good ramen. I ordered the seafood ramen which was a good value with the number of shrimp, mussels and squid. The good: value of the meal. the price for the ramen was reasonable. The broth was a little more salty and oily for my taste, but it still mixed well with the seafood and noodles. The not so good: temperature of the broth was only lukewarm. It only took 10min to get back to my hotel, but the dish should have been warmer. I would return, and recommend them. read more

I ordered a ramen dish and Yakitori (chicken and shrimp). What was disappointing was the lack of taste of the yakitori. It was pre-boiled and tried to be seared on a grill. The sear did not happen and was less than flavorful. The ramen broth was good but the noodles were store bought and cheap. I don't mind store bought noodles but at least get the good ramen noodles for the price your charging. With the quality and small serving, you should just be paying $5 for char siu ramen.Very stingy with those low quality toppings. The eggs are horrible and salty. Worst ramen place I have ever experienced. Only thing I liked was its interior. Other than that everything is no difference than cheap noodle place. The ramen tastes like .99c instant noodle from grocery store!!!! It is tragic to see that ramen, true traditional Japanese noodle soup with bone broth base, is replaced here with spicy cheap instant noodle soup. Just looking at menu, it is easy to recognize it is not Japanese restaurant at all even though they have Japanese names in menu. The service was medium. We had a hard to understand each other as our waiter barely speaks English and somehow was rushing. We arrived the place more than hour before they close, then ordered our food, and waited few minutes. Yet, as soon as our food arrives, server started cleaning our table. Literally every 2 minutes he was coming to our table to check if there is more dishes he can get. That was very uncomfortable. Even worse than that, when we order a pot of tea on our table, he brought us only one cup. When we asked one more cup as there were two of us, he informed us they charge by a cup so in order to have a cup or share a pot of tea, we needed to pay for another a pot of tea. If you want to have a food they serve, go to grocery store buy a Nong Shim instant noodle for 1.99 and go home, warm up your noodle in hot water. That is it, that could be even better experience since at least nobody will rush you finish. read more
