I really love and respect Dr. Osei-Tutu and her passion for helping women of color restore their confidence. She's very patient, attentive, has excellent bedside manner and doesn't push you into any expensive services (in fact, her favorite recommendation is something free: TIME!). HOWEVER, her front desk staff are unfortunately a poor reflection of her office and the standards she sets. The communication is always extremely poor and sometimes combative, especially from Natasha, (if needing to reschedule, running a few mins late, needing questions answered before spending thousands of dollars, etc.). I've not once gotten an apology for any inconveniences or discrepancies and they make it really difficult to reach the doctor unless you're paying over $100 to see her in person (and good luck with getting that appointment any time soon). As a person who has been a patient since January, I feel like I deserve a little more respect with regards to my time and sensitivity with regards to my needs. Thus far, the only person I can compliment is Brittany. She seems genuinely nice/helpful. But she is rarely the person that I am communicating with. read more

I loved Dr. Osei-Tutu. She is really nice and her office is beautiful. Dr.Osei-Tutu was pretty much on time or close to schedule the day I went. She chats with you like a friend and her patient rooms are laid back with not only her medical chair , but benches with pillows. I like that I don't feel like I'm in a doctor's office. And to top it off with certain medications she prescribes you have your prescriptions delivered to you free of charge by the pharmacy she is associated with to where ever you like. For example, I originally had it scheduled to be delivered to my job but since he wouldn't make it in time to me before i left work(you have to sign for it), he delivered to my house that same day wit no hassle. Not only that I got a little gift with my prescription (my fav lip balm by eos). Can't wait to update on my 6week appt with Dr.Osei-Tutu and the outcome of the regimen she provided for me. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Tutu for a couple of years in her Great Neck Office for several issues. Her office is very welcoming, clean and well decorated. She and her entire staff are always friendly. I had a visit with her yesterday. I was called into the examination room within 2 mins of my appointment. Unfortunately I didn't have a babysitter for my kids so I brought them along. The assistant was accommodating by putting on cartoons for them to watch. Dr. Tutu was very attentive to the issues I presented with and for that I am very grateful to have found her. read more

SMH!!!!!!!!! I tried to schedule an appt for the very first time because I saw the reviews for this place; which were positive and i wanted to see what they could do for me. Well...... hmmmm I have to say i left a detailed message as to what i needed and the person that called me back started of the conversation very cold and clearly the way she was talking to me was as if she didn't know why I called. I asked the cost of the consultation for my hair and face because of a medical condition I have, she told me you can't book both appointments the same day with an attitude mind you I was trying to ignore her approach . I then asked to book an appt despite I see she wasn't friendly in any way, she said it wont be till July I laughed and said omg really. She then asked do you want to schedule an appt or not. I said yes and she hung up the phone. I let time pass to see if she would call back and she didn't. So I called off another number no one picked up so I left a message letting them know that I wasn't pleased with the demeanor of the receptionist. The same receptionist called back after i left my message to tell me the phone got disconnected and she was sorry when I explained to her that was not the case, she continued with excuses. But one would think this receptionist would be alot nicer the second time on the phone with a possible patient --- NOPE not at all, as If she just didn't care so I said forget it I will find another dermatologist, you think she cared NOPE. If i am paying my money to be seen and off one phone call to book a simple appt; the staff gives a bad representation of the office and all that the staff person can say is well I apologized do you want to book the appt or not then there is no way i want to be seen by that office. My first visit to her was very good. So I decided to bring my teenage boy to see her. My son has flaring pimples all over his face. But the earliest time I got was a month away. Alright... but a week before the appt, I got an unexpected award ceremony to attend. I called and wanted to see if my son could see her at a later time. Again, the receptionist said it was all booked and since everyone is on time with schedule, she couldn't squeeze my son in. Okay, I respected that. So my hubby had to reschedule his appts for later hours, because my son's face was all red for the last one month. The most upsetting thing is that my son and he showed up on time at the office but they had to wait over AN hour to see the dr. No reason or explanation given. He ended up calling up his appts and apologizing to them all. If the receptionist said they couldn't squeeze us in for later hours, we assume that our appt would be treated with the same respect. My family and I have been coming to Dr. Osei-Tutu for many moons since 2013 and recently as of today 02/17/2020 , my mom arrives to the brooklyn location at 3:45pm for a 4pm appt and she is told the appointment was cancelled. This appointment was made 3 weeks in advance and my mothers contact information was completely updated at that time since it had been over a year since she was last seen. The receptionist stated that the appt was given to someone else when they couldn't reach my mom, again they had the wrong information. An appt was offered not for what she had but for another fucking random ass day, not convenient for her. Although Dr. Osei-Tutu is a great physician, her staff is trash, I've lost so much respect this practice and how every time there is some bullshit to deal with when scheduling at that office. I very much wanted to cuss some people out at that office due to the way my mother was handled and discarded when it was not an error on her part. I've tried since 2015 to continue to support a black physician in practice but this is the 3rd time this has happened to my family and I am tired of giving black business my time and insurance when they treat people like this. Please, anyone going to her office, beware the staff is garbage and they will look so lost when they do you wrong and you put them in their place about it. If I could give zero stars I would. The staff is a big reflection of the physician and once upon a time her sister in law who worked there laughed in my face when I traveled all the way from manhattan to their brooklyn office for a confirmed appt, only for no one to be there. This was my best experience with a doctor EVER! First, the office is impeccable. It looks like something out of a magazine. The receptionist was friendly and most importantly - competent! My appointment was at noon and the doctor showed up at noon (not 15 minutes later like most). She was super knowledgeable and took care to explain things. So important. I have been to other derms who basically have no clue, push you their products, and shuttle you out the door. This is not what happened here. The doctor is excellent and I would certainly recommend her. Hands down. She also has a Brooklyn office. Have not been to that location. read more

I love Dr.Osei TuTu. I went through two dermatologist due to their lack of compassion and office staff. I finally found someone who will listen and actually seem like she cares. I have recommended her to at least three of my friends. They all speak highly of her. We all see her for different reasons but receive the same wonderful treatment. The office staff is pretty good. It's just that I feel like they showed review records before a patient is going to be seen. I only had one time where I wasn't able to be seen due to a referral issue. I had asked before hand if everything was ok and the receptionist said everything was ok. In the end it was not ok and and I had to reschedule my appointment for two months later. It was a headache. I scheduled my appt in September to see Dr. Achiamah. The Great Neck office is closer to me but the next available appt was in November so I decided to go to the Brooklyn office October 10th. My appt time was 12:45pm and I arrived 1:13pm. I took a cab to my appt, apologized for being late as I am coming another borough and there was traffic. I was told by the receptionist they are about to break for lunch and to come back at 4:45pm or reschedule my appt. I dont live in the area, what am I supposed to do for 3 hours? I will not be rescheduling or returning. I would think the doctor would be more understanding and accommodating to new patients. Great Doctor!! I change doctors pretty often, maybe because im picky, but I think i will stay with Dr. Osei-Tutu. Very knowledge, skilled, well mannered, and fair on price. Accepts HSA but probably all medical offices accept that. Office environment is amazing. Pretty new and well designed. Staff are kind. They do things electronically including prescriptions but can do hard copy prescriptions if you like. I went in for plantar warts and very satisfied with results so far. Two visits to date. Asked her to treat acne also on second visit. She told me they specialize in hair loss but other services are very good. I would recommend this doctor to anyone! I have had the most amazing experience going to Dr. Osei-Tutu. I have gone to two other dermatologists prior to Dr. Osei and neither one provided an accurate diagnosis. From the beginning Dr. Osei was very thorough in running tests to provide an accurate diagnosis. During each visit she is very informative and takes the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. After diagnosing me she put me on a treatment regimen that has worked wonders. My hair has grown in a way that it hasn't in years. I am so amazed by the results. Best Doctor I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I found Dr. Osei Tutu through Yelp and after the reviews I decided to book an appointment right away. I have battled with acne forever! Probably about 15 years or so. I've seen two different Dermatologists in the past. And while they were pleasant, both times I felt very rushed. I do wear foundation every day. Dr. Osei Tutu took the time out to wipe my makeup off to better evaluate my skin, which I really appreciated. The previous dermatologists that I've seen before did not do that. Dr. Tutu also injected my larger pimples with an anti-inflammatory.. without me even asking! I remember having to pretty much beg a Dermatologist to do this for me. Dr. Osei Tutu was punctual. Very knowledgable. Extremely pleasant. She came into the exam room and sat down. She conversed with me like a friend. She gave me her honest opinions on different meds/regimen. She took the time to answer any questions that I had (I had plenty). Most importantly she was patient. She did not rush me. She made sure all of my questions were answered before leaving the room. Dr. Tutu took the time to type up a new skin care regimen for me to follow. She truly wants the very best for her patients. I am so so happy to have found Dr. Tutu. Some of her recommendations for my dark spots included: - don't smoke (on my intake form I stated that I've never smoked) - use concealer That was my takeaway for a $175 visit. Plus, the Retinol and all natural products she recommended caused an allergic reaction on my face for a week after the first application. I love this place. I hate that it is so far away from me because living in NJ its quite the drive. But I like the practice so much I brave the Belt Pkwy anyways. They are very technically advanced as well and offer virtual visits/pictures and instant communication via Klara. Dr. Osei-Tutu has the best demeanor and makes you so comfortable. She takes measures to find the root cause of issues, as well as encourages the lesser of extremes before recommending the most extreme measures. I really appreciate and respect her ethic!! read more

After rescheduling my first appointment 3 TIMES! I never got to see the doctor. She might be very good, but her staff is unorganized, unresponsive and unclear about what's needed from the patient. Made my first app through ZOCDOC with about a week and half in advance. Received a call from her office a day before the appointment to inform me that the appointment time I selected was not available anymore... Ok, let's blame zocdoc for that but I don't buy it. Next app available is more than two weeks later. Ok, I needed it so I'll wait longer while my skin gets worse from eczema. I asked in that first phone call if a referral from my OB is enough since I'm pregnant and she was the one suggesting I see a specialist. I'm new with the insurance I have and all I knew is that referrals are needed for specialist. Staff tells me is enough. One day before the second app another call telling me that I need a referral from my PCP! Of course I have to make an app with my PCP first to get the referral, so I had to cancel the second app. A new app is set for 3 days later. I arrange to see my PCP and they explain me that I need the ID # from the dermatologist to send the referral. I left 3 messages at different times to have someone finally call the day before the app, at a time that my PCP office is about to close, so the referral doesn't get there in time for my appointment and I had Dr. Osetutu's staff calling me to tell me that the app will have to be rescheduled if the referral is not in on a Saturday @9 am!!!
