Oscar is a genuinely friendly person, and it's always a pleasure to work with nice, professional people. The price for reupholstering my car's roof was very reasonable--it came to just under $400 in total, and the job was completed in about a day. I'm really happy with the quality of the work itself. However, the reason I'm not giving a full 5-star review is that there was some leftover debris from the roof materials left in the back of my car. I now have to spend extra time cleaning up the mess they left behind, which was a bit disappointing. read more

Fantastic experience. My 2012 MDX interior leather/carpet was mildewed from rain exposure and in need of replacement. Got a couple estimates and Oscar's was by far the least expensive. Oscar's lovely wife helped pick out leather to match the factory original. Oscar and his staff supplied the workmanship. Oscar restores classic cars as a hobby so he brings an attention to detail one likely won't find elsewhere. They stripped the seats and carpet and dried out the interior with heat lamps for a few days before installing the new stuff. The new seats perfectly match the original down to the stitching. The craftsmanship is amazing. Carpet installation was perfect. The interior is like new. The mildew smell is gone. They delivered exactly what they promised. Can't recommend this shop enough. Been in business 40 years. Clearly they're doing something right. Add in that Oscar and his wife are just the loveliest people. Give them a look. You won't regret it. read more

I cannot recommend Oscars Upholstery. I was give a price over the phone or $1200 dollars. Once off the phone he immediately called back and said he missed a few things and it was actually going to be 1660. The new price was in the range of what others had been quoting. The $1660 then became $1960 once I arrived at his shop. I had already made the trip and I was there so against my better judgement I was still okay with the price as it was on the high side of the other quotes but still in the range. He then starts telling me that specific peices are not included in the price and that if I want it all done that it will be $2500. How did we get from $1200 to $1660 to $2500? Sounds a lot like a bait and switch to me. I guess its like your mother told you -CAVEAT EMPTOR read more

I had Oscar's do some custom vinyl interior in my Shelby automobile. I wanted to keep this classic car as original as possible and Oscar's did a great job matching the black interior perfectly. It only took them a few days to do the work and the final cost was very competitive and actually a bit less than I expected. Good job, well done, highly recommended. read more

They did a very good job replacing my car top. This top is amongst the most complicated to replace and despite my initial hesitation to give them this challenge, I decided to take a chance. Now it took them more than 10 hours to complete but they stayed late and it was done well. Also, Oscar's advice to wait for a while for the top to settle before I go running back with issues, was right. In about 2-4 weeks the top settled onto the frame and now it works great. read more

Buyer beware! This company will not take blame for mistakes. My boyfriend went to Oscar's to ask about getting a headliner put in a brand new hardtop we had just purchased and painted. The man we spoke with (not Oscar) said it would cost under $300 and take a few hours because "this is what they do". My boyfriend brought the car in the next morning (Tue 11/14) to have the work done. Oscar was there this day and said it would cost $760, not the $300 quote we recieved the day before and would take all day. Apparently only Oscar can give quotes... Although this should have been our queue to run, we agreed to let them proceed with the work. Since my hardtop is removeable, they insisted we remove it. After just having had it painted, we decided to tape it ourselves to ensure no damage to the hardtop or the custom acrylic rear window. After they started the work THEN they told us they only accepted cash. Pretty important piece of information that we should have had up front (red flag #2). The car was not ready until after dark, upon inspection the next morning, we noticed some stray fibers and foam backing showing near the rear window. Returned to Oscars (Weds am 11/15) and asked them to trim the fabric. They said they could not trim the fabric due to the way the piping was stitched. Clarified that we just wanted the stray fibers and foam backing that was sticking out trimmed. The woman up front called one of the employees from the back who came out with a razor to trim the fiber. My boyfriend offered to tape the window which he refused and I left the tape in the car for him to tape the window. He did not tape the window, he trimmed the fibers with the razor, my boyfriend thanked them and left. Later that day when cleaning the window my boyfriend noticed several razor lines in the interior tint on the custom acrylic window. We called Oscar to report the damage and he said he was going out of town and to come on the following Tuesday (11/21). On Tuesday we saw Oscar and showed him the damage (remember...brand new hardtop only had a few weeks). He said they did not do it (who else would be in the window with a razor blade?) but he would get a window guy he knows to fix it (as if he's doing us a favor). Oscar also brought his employee out to show him the razor lines. When we also pointed out some adhesive on the window, he said they didn't do that either but he could clean it. My boyfriend got irritated, raised his voice (was not yelling at all as I was standing there and couldn't even hear him) and said that he certainly didn't do it and that Oscar was lying to him. That is when Oscar got angry and said he would not deal with him but would talk to me. So I calmly looked at Oscar and said "he is upset because..." Oscar snapped, started talking quickly and said he wouldn't do anything with the car. But wait, it gets weirder. The woman came out and got Oscar and they went inside...crickets...Yup. I thought she would come back out and speak with me but she did not. I went inside and told them that I wanted them to pay to get the window fixed. They laughed. The woman proceeded to tell me a modified version of the above story and that they did not trim the fibers at all and that my boyfriend (who is obsessed with caution and taping and caring for this vehicle) must have decided to cut the fibers himself and cut the window and is now lying about it (for what reason I cannot imagine). My boyfriend is likely the most honest person I have ever met and has no problem at all taking blame for his mistakes. He had not been inside of the vehicle with a razor or anything similar. In addition to all of this, why do I need to defend what happened? Am I not the customer? Do I not deserve to have someone take a bit of care when dealing with my car to take 5 seconds to tape a window to prevent damage? If we did this we would have had it fixed by now instead of waiting to deal with these condescending swindlers. I'm not sure how we get the window repaired yet but even if we have to replace it we are talking about a few hundred bucks. I cannot stand when companies refuse to admit they made a mistake. That is the only reason I was upset with the situation and to then say we did it ourselves and are trying to blame them over something so trivial...are you kidding me? I have better things to do with my time! I don't normally write reviews but felt so strongly about the abhorrent customer service at this place. I'm sure if everything is perfect you will have no problems (except their general better than you attitude) but buyer beware, these folks are first rate jerks. read more

I wish I could give it no stars! Run away from this place. The most unprofessional people I have ever met and work with! The lady running the business is rude and very unprofessional. I took my luxury car over there to have one of my seats fixed...What they did was a disaster, I had to go back there 3 times and still it was not properly fixed, I gave up. They have no idea about how to work on luxury cars, they have probably experience just repairing old living room chairs. I won't go back there even if you give me money!!! read more
