The meal came with a clear soup that I did not try however I did order a miso soup which was light, salty and not overloaded with seaweed, so to me it was very good. Unfortunately, our dining experience at this Japanese hibachi restaurant was far from satisfactory. The Crab Rangoons, though crispy and tasty, were mostly filled with cream cheese and lacked crab. I had to swap my sweet tea, which was underwhelming, for a Coke due to its poor taste. The service was notably lacking. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and had a significant language barrier, which led to a series of misunderstandings. For instance, when we asked for our hibachi meal to be split into two plates, he simply brought us two small empty plates. He also had difficulty keeping track of our orders and never offered to refill our drinks. While I understand there might be cultural and language differences, the restaurant should ensure all staff can effectively communicate with guests to maintain a good service standard. The food itself was disappointing. The hibachi steak was overcooked and flavorless; we requested medium but received well-done. Similarly, the rice was bland, and not even soy sauce or yum yum sauce could salvage it. The lobster was also overcooked and unpleasant to eat. This is perhaps the worst hibachi meal I've had anywhere in the world. I left most of it uneaten. Additionally, it's worth noting there was no hibachi table, which detracted from the expected hibachi experience. On a slightly positive note, the salad with ginger dressing was tasty, but that alone couldn't make up for the overall poor experience. This restaurant needs to reconsider both its food quality and service training to live up to the expectations of a genuine hibachi experience. I think they're still trying to get their selves together. It's new, I get that and they're working on it. I opted for something on the conservative side, thinking that maybe wouldn't get screwed up, and it wasn't. I had the pineapple fried rice with the chicken, which is a pretty safe bet. Our appetizers were Crab Rangoons- good. Some sort of dumplings-good. A quick fried beef with a teriyaki sauce (at home, we call it satay beef)-good. Spouse had the salmon and crab sushi, which she enjoyed. Did not catch what my sister in law and brother-in-law had, nor my niece and nephew, but they enjoyed it. All in all pretty decent , price was good. They do not have a lot of seating as they are kind of a small small space but I would say a slightly above average stop. I know they are new and still working out issues, but the food was terrible, and service was lacking. We went with another couple, and we all had issues with the food. Two of us started with soups, Tom kha and Tom Yum, and they were disgusting. I don't like to complain, but they did not taste anything like they should. Both were extremely sweet. I asked for chicken and got shrimp. We set our soups to the side, and I gave the soup back to the waiter and let him know they tasted off. The other person who ordered the Tom Kha said it tasted like dirty dish water. Another person ordered a salad, which they forgot to bring. We reminded the waiter, and he brought it out much later after acting like we were an inconvenience. We had an order of Krab Rangoon, which tasted like just cream cheese, and two were hollow, as seen in the picture. That was probably the vest item we ate, which says a lot. One person ordered the steak hibachi, and his steak came out cold. When brought to the attention of the waiter, they didn't apologize and only offered to microwave it. Another ordered the chicken hibachi, which was super tough and tasted microwaved. We got sushi rolls, which were disappointing as well. The rolls are on the small size, even the specialty rolls. One roll they brought out was smothered in mayo that we had to scrape off. They also brought out the wrong roll. When we let the waiter know, he acted annoyed with us and insisted that was what we ordered. He finally agreed to bring out the correct roll and took back the other roll that we didn't eat as expected. It wasn't one that was appetizing to us. He then tried to bring back the same wrong roll, and we told him we didn't want it again. We finally got our correct roll, which was mediocre. Nothing we ate was enjoyable, and the service was terrible. The restaurant itself is small but nice. There was a wait as expected for a new restaurant with limited seating. Even with the small portions, we left a lot of food behind because it was not appetizing. If the server hadn't been argumentative and brought the correct food without making us feel like we were a nuisance, the rating would have been higher. All six of us ended up with upset stomachs that night. I was super excited for a new sushi restaurant to open, but I don't forsee any of us returning for a second chance for the food to improve due to the non-existent customer service. read more
