I use to be a fan of Osaka but this meal was one note. I'm use to getting a good amount of veggies but they were missing. Instead I got a lot of juice?? This was the first time I tried the salmon but it was just ok. Rice didn't have much taste, thank goodness for the white sauce. I'll probably be back in a few months, we'll see. read more

I was disappointed with the food. Japanese restaurants are always good but they weren't.

My first time ordering to go. I ordered shrimp and scallop bowl and I got scallop and chicken ‍ i was disappointed coz I i was excited for the shrimp and when I open it it's chicken and scallop . Besides that they're pretty good and the sauces are good as well. I'm hoping next visit they'll show me my order first before they bag them to make sure I don't come home with the wrong order. I ate most of it coz they are good . Just next time show the customers their order so they don't come home disappointed with the food they didn't order. Thanks! read more

I saw this place across from Walmart with a "Open Soon" sign and couldn't wait to try it, I love Japanese Hibachi ! They have been open the past couple days and I had the chance to try it today. I had gone in yesterday and got a menu so we could study it. We were greeted by very friendly staff, it took bit to place our order, they were very busy, that's good ! So, we placed our order and bantered with the very friendly gentleman at the register who took our order and he stated 10 minutes. 20 minutes later we finally got our order to go and left. After we got home we were very surprised at the amount of food we received. I ordered the steak, chicken and shrimp hibatchi, it came with choice of rice, fried or steamed and either miso soup or salad, I got the salad with ginger dressing and fried rice. My wife got the shrimp bento box with fried rice, miso soup, gyoza and shumai. The food was amazingly fantastic, it was just like the food you would get at Miyabi Japanese Steakhouse without the show. The order even came with yum yum sauce !!! We were very pleased with our meal and most definitely will return. Now, the downside, this place is very small with about 4-5 tables and they are so close to the counter that you would probably not enjoy eating in store. Not sure if it was the weather today but it felt as if the air conditioner was not working, very warm, again, I would not enjoy eating in that condition. Tip: If you order the combination hibachi be prepared, so much food we could have shared it easily. I understand that they just opened and working the bugs but they should work on getting orders our more quickly. Overall I think Osaka Japanese Express will Be my favorite go to in Spring Lake !!! We will be back often. Oh, btw, I think I'm the very first to post a review UPDATE: This is my second review of Osaka. Again, the food was great, the staff very friendly, we got order much faster than the last visit. I had the steak and chicken hibachi and the wife had the shrimp bento box. I've had their food once before and decided to try it again Tuesday March 9,2021 I went with the steak and chicken with white rice hibachi and as I'm getting down to the last bites I see some that looks like baby larvae in the white rice. I don't mix my rice a meat I eat it separately. I take what I see out the rice for further examination because it is very tiny I snap a picture to blow it up to be sure and surely that's what it is some type of small baby larva. This is horrible so now I'm up taking laxatives so that whatever this is that I might have eaten comes out tonight. read more

I was craving Japanese food and this was the closest place to my house so I went in and place a to go order... as I went to sign my credit card receipt I asked the lady behind the counter would she receive the tip at the end of her shift and she said NO all tips go to the owners the she does not get any of the tips... this made me angry I took my tip back!!! she is the one doing all the work for them and she does not get the tips... they are making all the money and she is making nothing...I will never go back there again!!! I just wasted 35.00s at this place. There is an entire meal that got put in the trash because my dogs wouldn't touch either. Shrimp was rubbery and COVERED IN SEASAME SEEDS and I mean friggen covered people! There salad is nothing but lettuce, thats it. Their sauces were watered down and the Gyoza, made ahead of time and allowed to sit. They were rock hard at top folds and the bottoms were absolutely soggy. What is with you guys? I'm tired of wasting money I really shouldn't be, on places like this. You used to be delicious. But this last year, the food quality (and apparently chef) was traded in for cheaper. read more

It was way more delicious than Any of the hibachi restaurants near Bragg. It's a way better deal and honestly way more flavorful. I'm definitely going to have to come back! The service was quite welcoming and attentive. The quality and quantity of food is pretty good. Most dishes will cost you around $12- $15. The wait times were generally short at about only 8-10 minutes. I would definitely eat there in the future. read more

Place is outstanding. New to town, just checking things out. This will definitely be a go-to place. Got the Hibachi Steak. Out in about 7 minutes, steak was honestly the best steak I've had from anywhere in a while, and I'm a mid rare, steakhouse going dude. Veggies were awesome, rice was good. The sauce they use is perfect. Got soup and salad, both were good. Just great all around. What you'd expect from a really good Japanese place. I've been to larger sit down restaurants and paid a lot more for much lower quality. Meal in total with drink and salad (additional charge since I got both soup and salad) was under $15, and it's was a lot of food. Crushing it. Also, apparently B'LorG whatever has never been to a Japanese place. Yes a shit ton of rice, but amount of steak was comparable to any other place I've been. read more

Shoutout Osaka Express for being open on Christmas. Bum ass DFAC on Bragg closes on holidays but are the first ones giving themselves awards for "Excellent Service."
