I regret to say that Jay A's review isn't far off from the truth. I'm not writing this out of anger to denigrate OS Ignite; I'm writing it because as an entrepreneur, I know how difficult it can be to find good developers. I hope to contribute to the body of reviews on web development companies so that future young startup owners are aware of past-customer experiences.
My business partner and I worked with Zach and his team to create a website for our education startup.
Overall, we were dissatisfied with our experience as well as final product. The quick communication in the beginning and willingness to be flexible turned into sluggish communication and nickel and dimming. Even for the additions for which we paid a significant amount of money (such as the video integration and backend modifications), the results were of substandard quality. With regard to communication, on numerous occasions I left messages on Zach's voicemail and never received a call back. We never received an e-mail or call back about our website being "finished" or "launched"; it was simply as if things cut off. The "FREE 5 hours of included phone training and admin support" was a mere 30 minute meeting with me and my business partner in September. Additionally, it's hard to fathom how/why someone at OS Ignite didn't go through our entire website to check for kinks, or contact us to ask if we were satisfied with the website. Above all, the backend system was not developed to achieve the goal of providing a dynamic client/consultant interface. Perhaps the fault falls on me for not being clear enough regarding our needs and desires. But even then, having better communication would have helped fix this.
Almost immediately after paying 10k+ for our website, we hired someone to develop a brand new website.
In short, I laud OS Ignite on their past projects - they are what led me to use their services. I was happy with the initial communication and I was happy to be involved in the decisions early in the process. However, our finished product was nowhere near what we expected, and we felt abandoned. I sent Zach an e-mail expressing our dissatisfaction and never received a response back. read more
