The service here is always stellar. The clothing here is great for my parents. I did buy a red knitted shawl here a couple of years ago for my mother and me, still love them today. My mother loves every sweater I have ever bought for her from here. I was warmly greeted by three or four of the staff members as soon as I walked in the door. I always am greeted every time I walk in here it seems. It feels like the Cheers of the clothing/retail shops. I feel like this place tends to be for the more rugged and out-doorsy folks, which I am not. But I always manage to find a great sweater or two in merino wool, cashmere or a mix of fabrics. I spent some time browsing around in the men's section. I ended up finding a one piece jacket/shirt hybrid. Orvis brand. One of the staff members had the same shirt and he said it was great shirt and he loved it. He said it's super versatile and warm and has a lot of added features that my stepdad would like. I was sold. Was about $170. The entire staff is an A team of helpful, patient and informative peeps. Each will go above and beyond to make your experience great here. I didn't realize I was in the store after hours. There were still four staff members that had stayed on to help me out until the end. They didn't rush me out or make me feel bad about keeping them at all. I did thank them for staying a little extra. They said they had stuff to finish up still, so staying was no biggie. I took a little extra time to try on their barbour jackets, as these require a bit more time in selecting the perfect color, style and fit for a jacket. The wax jackets are around $420. It was great since I was able to do 1-stop shop for my parents tonight. Found two cashmere sweaters for my mother and two sweater/jackets for my stepfather. Their Christmas gifts are done. I was able to find two cashmere sweaters, one cable knitted for myself, a black barbour waxed jacket and a inner vest lining for it. A successful trip and put a good dent in wallet too. I was told the Barbour jackets are great and durable and lovable for many years to come. I so love the smell of their frasier fir candles here. I buy some every year from here. read more

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. It's a mix of Eddie Bauer and Outdoor World on a smaller scale. I had never been in here before but came across it while looking for a winter coat online. What a fun store! We will definitely be back. They even have a really nice pet section with pet beds, collars and accessories. Stop in and check it out! read more

The salespeople at Orvis really know their stuff -- at least that's the way it appears to this non-outdoorsy person. I walked in (with less than 30 minutes to close) with thinking I'd like to get a fly fishing set for a Father's Day gift, and the young man that helped me was very helpful and knowledgeable. The young man stayed past closing to finish helping me and ringing up my order too. I'm sure I could have spent less money elsewhere for lesser quality products, but I wasn't really looking to do that. I got hooked up with the right items, brands and quantity of everything I needed that would suit the fly fisherman to be. Good customer service is always customized to the customer/consumer of the goods--and that's exactly what I got. Would highly recommend this particular store! read more

Staff were taking full preparation and followed good COVId practices. Hands down, best place I ever had the pleasure of spending hard earned saved money a bucket list kit at. At 47 i decided to up and try fly fishing; aa a generation X'r, I over thought over researched for months. This was the last store i came to and was a refreshing experience. I should have stoped here first. Never once felt like i was a nub among snobs (anyone spend any time in adventures themes facility know what i mean, kayakers). I felt so confident and informed from one visit and walked out with a full kit. The staff are top notch and will explain everything so your comfortable. I don't fish so thankfully James and James were there to guide me, I ended up leaving with a fly box that had all the right lures for where the person receiving the gift could fish all their spots! The people in this store are extremely condescending. When I go into the store I am usually there on my lunch break, I work construction so I look well...like a construction worker. The employees constantly follow me around and act as if I'm going to steal something, make comments like, "window shopping?", one time the guy told me I don't need any of the flies I was looking at because " I probably snag fish anyway. I'll never shop here again, I'll take my money else where, you should too. read more

This place is fantastic for any outdoor need. I went in to get hiking boots, but they didn't have any in stock at the moment - so the store clerk, Katie, went on the Orvis website and helped me pick out the perfect pair, and even went to a couple review sites to make sure they were the best ones possible. Then she called up HQ and put me in touch with the representative there, and they are going to ship them to my door at no cost! Went with my family today (avid outdoor folks) for the first time. So incredibly disappointed in the lack of customer service at this location. Staff (5 adults total) and not one person spoke to me/us. I was prepared to shop today for fly fishing gear and decided again it due to the inattentive staff. I'll stick with Simms who always gives great service. This is really just a clothing store with a very small stock of fly fishing necessities. Knowledgeable staff who go above and beyond to instruct novices about the sport of fly fishing. The free courses (reservations and a fishing license are all that's necessary) are instructive and layered so you properly build on your knowledge base. The staff are extremely patient in teaching the nuance of setting up your gear, casting techniques, and in identifying both flies and fish. You can tell staff love this sport--it shows in their exuberance as students start to catch on--I will be buying my gear at this location, as well as all future fly fishing needs. This is by far my favorite Orvis location. The staff is friendly and the store is well kept. They are also pet friendly! I have come here for several years for all my fly fishing needs.
