He prescribed a steroid, a six day antibiotic treatment and a herbal cough syrup that we picked up immediately at a pharmacy near the duomo for under €30. By the time we arrived in Florence, I could not leave my Hotel (Orto de Medici) due to the pain. The hotel (10/10) contacted this service and Dr Smorlesi arrived quickly at my hotel room. He asked pertinent questions and (without imaging) assessed cervical spine issues. He wrote appropriate prescriptions and gave me a shot of cortisone in my hip. This rescued me! I had been very anxious about flying back to Seattle in so much discomfort but was able to do so comfortably. Dr Smorlesi was professional, respectful and approachable. You can even access the CV of doctors online if you are looking for a very specialized specialist. it really is a modern institution. Doctors i saw seem very good (how would i know for sure, you will tell me) and are more or less on time. You will have a number and you wait to see yours called on the board. Very efficient! Most of doctors i saw spoke English. The problem is that after you will need to go to a pharmacy and pay a fortune - i do not understand how medicines can be so expensive.
