(he refers to it as Pepe, "My Little Mule") Well our taxi driver Jorge on the isle of Vieques gave us a ride on his Little Mule. We called him up a few hours before our flight was due to leave, and set up a place to meet him on the Malecon of Esperanza (near the beach). We called them a little bit before our pick up time, and he said he was already there. So, we met up with him and threw our stuff into his white van, aka Pepe. Vieques is a small island east of the main island of Puerto Rico. It is known for it's world famous beaches, laid back feel, and small one-lane roads. Jorge picked us up, and BOOM! We were on our way. He zipped us around the island at light speed. He knew where every turn and bump was. "Hey maam, you ready?" he asked. He then sped up a little and we went over a little hill and our tummy's totally felt it---roller coaster style. Jorge was super nice, and gave us a tour of the island and advice----I SOOO wish we hooked up with him when we arrived on Vieques: next time! Since he was getting us to the airport way ahead of schedule, he went and gave us a tour of the W Resort (it's on the way to the airport). Jorge also works for this hotel and many customers knew him and gave him high 5's---he even picked up a few people when we stopped there. But yeah, he told us to get out and check out the resort: Ummm, yeah, it's a pretty high class hotel (I guess they filmed a recent episode of The Bachelor there). So yes, if you are ever in Vieques, make Jorge the first person you call. He (& his Little Mule) will take care of you and get you to where you need to go.

We decided not to bring a car seat only if we could find a service that would provide a baby seat to and from our hotel. After we emailed and called a few different places, we were surprised not to get any responses. So we did a second round of calls to a other few new companies and we got in touch with Prestige Taxi and Joseph. He told us that he was on the road but to text him our info and he would send back confirmation as soon as he got back to the office. Within an hour we had a confirmation with our info, price, driver name, etc. He even throw in the baby seat at no cost. Once we arrived Joseph was waiting for us with a sigh and a smile. He was professionally dressed and has a very easy going fun way about him. We had a truck load of luggage which he took charge of, and we were thrilled to be packed up and ready to go within 25 minutes of arrival. His van was super clean, AC was cranking and we had a very nice rear facing baby seat for the little guy. We had a 25 minute ride to the Ritz which was a great time to get some local information about the island. Joseph shared history about the island, great places to see on St. Thomas and St. John, good local eateries, places to shop, etc. He also asked if we wanted to do a quick tour of Red Hook just so we had a visual of a fun area to shop and hang out.
