Mooresville Welding

Mooresville Welding has been around a long time and everyone thinks highly of the place when it was…read morerecommended verbally to me by friends and family. When I arrived, no one was at the counter and it took ten minutes to track down an employee. They were suffering from "short staff" in January 2022 but eventually I found someone. I brought in two jobs for welding expertise. One was a handle from my china cabinet. The knob had been broken off my movers and needed to be tack welded back on but they were unable to help me due to the metal being "cast." The other job was an indoor metal ladder from my RV that gave access to the top bunk. It was an inch and three eighths too wide to allow the bathroom door to open all the way. I wanted the ladder made narrower which required cutting five steps from one side of the main rail and re-welded. I did not need the ladder until spring because I had no camping trips planned for the winter months. So after a couple of months had passed and my ladder was ready I found a big difference in staffing upon arriving. There were lots of employees visible. Several in the shop cutting and welding and a full time counter person to assist customers with walk in welding jobs. Their primary function here is making custom truck beds. My ladder looked awesome. It is very hard to tell it was ever modified. They had cut, welded, and painted it to look exactly like it did before I brought it in. I am totally satisfied with the job and the price at $45.

Called them to request a spot weld on at implement I purchased. They were able to get me in and get…read morethe job done in under 30 minutes for a reasonable price. Great experience.

We had a small drip your water heater and I reached out to 4 different companies via Facebook…read moremessenger and Summer's was the first to call me back. They sent someone out to assess the issue and determined the tank was bad. Big plus that they were able to replace it the same day. Huge relief. The two techs that were onsite we courteous, knowledgeable and professional. In addition to the water heater they also redid the pipes and exhaust stack which was a big improvement over what the original builders did. They made sure it was installed properly and didn't cut any corners. Very happy with the results.

Each tech will cost you to give you an estimate on what needs done. None of them can tell you anything about any work other than their specialty. Oh, and buy this MONTHLY subscription and the work is cheaper. The only reason they get two stars instead of one, is that the techs, while very high pressure, are professional in their appearance and work. However, all three of them told me that they were doing work on the side and gave me a number to call if I wanted them specifically to do the job. Plumber installed the well pump and pressure tank. Then had to call an electrician to replace the receptacle. Electrician quoted $3500 for an electric job that would take at least two to three days to finish. Got the same work done by an independent for $50 in 2 hours. Got someone else to do the HVAC work as well. Can not recommend Summers.
