Habibi is THE BEST EVER! So friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful! I called with absolutely no idea what I even needed or wanted as I am no pro about flowers and I was completing a task for my boss. Ornamento has been doing our flowers at Saks Fifth Avenue in our Personal Shopping department for almost ten years. Orna is the 'Maitresse', and I consider her an artist of the highest order. Not only is she highly creative in her combinations, but she and her partner/husband Bruce are great with follow-through, billing and timely delivery. Orna is from Israel, and her style in floral arrangement runs the gamut from delicate and feminine, to unconventional combinations of cut flowers and orchids mixed with fruit and branches. There is always an unexpected and thought provoking element added to her arrangements which ensure that they never slip into cliche. Working in an enviornment filled with glittering and unique clothes you might not think that flowers would jump front and center, but in all honesty when a client walks in they don't even say hello before they run to the arrangement and start gushing about how beautiful it is. I would highly recommend taking a leap and giving Ornamento a try. I have one word to describe Orna... AMAZEBALLS. :) Orna did the floral and event design for my July 2 wedding at the Rosewood Sand Hill Hotel. From the moment I met with Orna, I was immediately sold. I am huge control freak; especially when it comes to flowers and design, and I had a specific vision in my head of what I wanted for my wedding. I was very picky about who I wanted to hire to execute the design of my wedding. The first time I met with Orna she listened to everything I had to say, took all of the pictures I gave to her and added her own thoughts while staying true to my vision. I was sold. Come July 2, I was amazed at how Orna flawlessly executed my DREAM WEDDING. No detail was left uncovered. It was truly amazing. Everything was above and beyond what I expected. For example, I wanted Peonies and July 2 is at the tail end of peony season. I was scared we were not going to be able to get peonies...but when Orna says she will do something she means it!! I have never seen so many (GIANT) pink and white peonies in my life. The colors of our wedding were blush and cream, and Orna was able to magically transform the ballroom into a glowing pink paradise. The entire room smelled of fresh gardenias- it was amazing. I am still receiving compliments months after the wedding on how beautiful everything was. Not only did Orna do a fabulous job with the floral and event design, she was truly a joy to work with as well. In the 20 months that I was engaged, I met with Orna many times and was so happy to have made a new friend out of the experience. She invited me to her new shop at the Fairmont SF (you MUST check it out!) to pick out the linens for my wedding, and we had a fabulous time chatting over champagne and snacks. I worked with Ornamento this past October, 2009. Orna did the flowers, linens and event coordination for my wedding weekend at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay and I could not have been happier with the experience and results. Over the 8 months that we worked together to plan the events, Orna could not have been more helpful or responsive. She truly listened to my vision for the events and also brought her own expertise to the table - the best of both worlds! She was incredibly responsive to my (probably too frequent) nervous bride calls and emails and always got back to me within a few hours at the most (with other vendors, it took days!). She also listened to my budget goal from the beginning and respectfully worked within my parameters without making me feel that I was cutting corners. Not to mention, the final product was GORGEOUS. The linens, lighting, candles, flowers etc. for the ceremony and reception were breathtaking. Orna created a cohesive feel for the whole day and it was exactly what I wanted and even more - I am still getting compliments on them! Orna also provided event coordination, working with all of the vendors in the weeks leading up to the wedding (including the wedding day). She kept everyone in line and on schedule but remained calm and collected which was exactly what we needed. Did anyone go to the deYoung recently to see "Bouquets to Art"? Ornamento's response to the great hall was unique and powerful. With a rigging hung and lit from the ceiling, thousands of strands of purple-hued ribbon hung down At the end of some of these ribbons, cut in many complimentary lenghths, were lovely single cymbidium orchids. Hard to describe the presence of Orna Maymon's vision but it is a statement and she is always full of surprise. Her artistry is in the deceiving "simplicity" of her work. Orna with Ornamento is truly amazing at floral design and was so great to work with for my wedding this past September. She executed everything perfectly and I have extremely high standards and a very specific vision for what I wanted. I had done extensive research on floral designers and was un-impressed by most. Those that I did interact with were delayed on getting me proposals and just generally un-impressive and unable to capture me with their style and aesthetic. Orna was very consistent, easy to communicate with and most importantly was great at capturing and understanding my aesthetic and vision for my wedding day. There was a couple of design elements I wanted for my wedding and one in particular was a design element that I wanted to try over the dance floor and she was willing to try them out with me, of which the first idea failed, and for the second one, while she hadn't originally "seen my vision" she went with it and put the time and energy to try it out which in the end worked out perfectly and she executed the look effortlessly, with the ease of a true professional, and that design element was just one component to all of the pieces that made all of the florals truly spectacular and perfect for my Garden Glam wedding at the Fairmont! Orna did these amazing florals that hung from some of the trees in the ceremony area in the garden at the Fairmont and they were super gorgeous! There were flowers in little mini fishbowl looking glasses and the look overall was gorgeous and totally achieved the look I was going for! She also draped an ugly hallway for me which totally helped with the look of the space and was a great suggestion on her part. The escort card table floral was super gorgeous and had draping orchids and looked totally stunning when I walked in the space I was totally taken by it. Amaze. In the reception space the centerpieces were also stunning and had the perfect colors and balance of greenery and structure and included hanging crystals which I wanted and she executed no problem. It's seriously so nice when planning a wedding to have a huge element like flowers be taken care of and in a few stressful moments she totally put me at ease and made me feel better and she is such an experienced professional you know that it will be taken care of. Her pricing is very reasonable right in the middle of all the proposal I reviewed and she has a cool laid back vibe which I appreciated. If I could give Orna 10 stars, I would! Orna did my flowers for my recent wedding, and she did an amazing job. On a general note, she made my wedding beautiful and elegant, and absolutely delivered on everything that she said she would - but not only that, she provided more than I had ever expected, or imagined. She has amazing taste, in my opinion, and you can see this in her store, where every flower is stands out gorgeously. (Before I had even met Orna or began to plan my wedding, I walked by her store and thought the store and flowers were so beautiful; the way she decorates it is very intelligent, and makes every one stand out). More specifically: First, I had an idea of what I wanted my bouquet to look like, and she had a picture of it, so we decided we would do it in that style - the bouquet she made for me was EXACTLY like the picture, only with more color and more beautiful in person, and the pink flowers in the mainly white bouquet just pop in the photos. Second, Orna provided more than I had even asked for in my wedding, including more elaborate cocktail table arrangements, cake flowers and decorations, and ceremony decorations. I felt like she had put her heart into the decorations. Third, I came to Orna with a tight schedule and I loved that she worked with me without hesitation or worry. Fourth, and this might actually be the most important, I felt like I had nothing to worry about with Orna, because I knew that she cared about the flowers for my wedding and not just "getting the job done," and because she has such good taste.
