I called ORKIN to say that I have carpenter ants and wanted to discuss how to deal with them. Orkin was going to have someone call be back, which never happened. A few days later I went to another company to address the issue. A couple of weeks after my initial call, my neighbour said that someone from Orkin showed up saying they had an appointment with me. Orkin send a report/invoice stating that thye had seen carpenter ants around the building. I stated that in my initial call to them, I called to complain and they said the technician had tried to reach out to me. I explained to them that there were no calls, voice mail, texts, or emails from anyone at Orkin let alone a appointment agreed to. Now I got a invoice in the mail. This seems like a scam. read more

It looks like maybe I got lucky? All I can say is I have been battling a flea infestation for 2 months. Had another company come out to spray. The guy stayed for 20 minutes didn't listen to a word I said didn't do any investigating and was gone and it cost $400. The Orkin representative showed up, the guy was absolutely amazing his name is Ian. We went over the whole house top to bottom he listed some problematic spots he showed me what to pay attention for he came back two days later to spray, that was today. I called another company that came, saw where the rats were coming in, sealed the entrance and put 6 traps in the attic. and will come again twice to check. The service rep dropped off some useless traps and then no one EVER CAME BACK - not during the paid service period, not EVER. We have had mice since Dec and all they do is put down useless traps with useless bait and don't even look to see where they are getting in. My contractor found termites in a wall, so I called Orkin. I've been a client since the 80's, before PCO Pest Control was bought by Orkin. They came to look at the infestation and did one treatment. They charged $795, which is awfully high in my experience, but whatever. But there was NO warrantee on their work, none. I was told a one year warrantee would cost an additional $400, or 50%. I don't mind buying an extended warrantee but that implies you HAVE a warrantee to extend. This is just highway robbery. No warrantee, SMH. 800 bucks, and if my contractor finds more termites today Orkin won't take responsibility. I left two messages for the manager of that office and he never called back. After 40 years as a client I will never call this company again. read more

I moved into a year old (essentially new) apartment that had a pre-existing Indian Meal Moth infestation. Orkin came and performed an inspection on March 11th, but they got all the facts wrong in the written report. They said to the property manager that there was no infestation when Orkin told me it was at the tail-end of the infestation during the inspection. As a result, the property manager refused to do anything. When I corrected Orkin, they weren't apologetic at all and no one took responsibility for anything at the end of the day. The technician, service manager, and the branch manager were unprofessional in how they handled everything. I ended up hiring another national pest control company to get the job done right. read more

We rescheduled appointment to the next day and technician again did not show up. Again, he did not have the courtesy to call to let us know. I called the office back and every time, I got the same response "we are trying to get a hold of the technician." I asked for a different technician and no update for over an hour. I ended up cancelling the service call and decided to try another company. Orkin is unreliable. Restaurant manager myself and have been extremely dissatisfied and wish I can give ZERO STARS with their services because 1. find fruit flies at bar, DOES NOTHING. 2. found mice problem at kitchen, PUTS A FEW BAIT BOXES. 3. find large flies around back alley & office, GIVES A FEW STICKY PADS. Dealt with their servicemen and have been in limbo because he does MINIMALLY almost NOTHING. Had to outsource to a contract pest person and deal with my problem here which solved it! Other restaurant locations have also experience the same dissatisfaction. I hope the pandemic will shut them down. Cancelling this crap service immediately. read more

Unprofessional and unreliable. I was expecting one of their team to arrive at 10 am (which he told the building maintenance man he would arrive at that time) and he was a no show. After many phone calls I am told he was on the road as late as 3:30 pm and then he phones the maintenance man (not me mind you and he had my number) to say he was sick and couldn't make it until Tuesday. This after waiting all day with a mouse infestation and the head office said they marked it URGENT. I am suspicious that on a long weekend Friday suddenly the Orkin guy is sick at 4:30pm to call it a day. Most importantly they are unreliable. FALSE ADVERTISING! I had a rat scamper across the floor of my house on Friday night. Suffice it to say I lost it. I looked up a bunch of places and found Orkin. 24HR Emergency service it claims. Perfect. NOT. I phone the emergency line and an operator said someone would get back to me in the morning. 10:30am someone calls to tell me they don't work on the weekend unless it's pre-booked. So on Tuesday (after the long weekend) I phone someone and they tell me that they're booked up today. Again I ask about this 24hr emergency and they tell me it just means that a manager will call you back to set up an appt during the week and that's only if you're a commercial client. THESE PEOPLE LIE ON THEIR WEBSITE. If they lie about this what else do they lie about? I would never trust them. read more

I was concerned about bed bugs, and within 24 hours of calling Orkin, a representative came to my apartment and did an inspection. She gave me the all clear (no bugs, yay!) and as no treatment was needed, I wasn't even charged for the inspection visit. Very prompt, friendly service. read more

No. Just don't even think about calling on these people. Service call was placed early Wednesday September 14 and we didn't receive a call back to book an appointment until Saturday September 17. When the service guy Darren called, he said that he didn't get the request from dispatch until Friday. A total lie as I had called on Wednesday to confirm, dispatcher/receptionist that answered the call said that they have the ticket and that the call back would happen within 24 hours. 24 hours later, nothing, 48 hours later nothing, 72 hours later nothing....I think you get what i'm trying to say here - you get nothing from these guys. I called to book a service and nobody followed up. I followed up a few days later and a woman said the technician would call me. After waiting 24 hours and hearing nothing, I followed up with them again and the woman on the phone booked an appointment for the following week (today) between 1-3pm saying the technician would call me 30 minutes ahead of time. When nobody showed up, I called at 3pm today and a woman confirmed I had my appointment scheduled for today between 1-3pm. She then connected me through to the technician and he said he can't come today but can come on Monday (6 days from now). There was no apology. What was the point on booking an appointment? I took the afternoon off work and still haven't dealt with my moth problem. I would never recommend this company to anyone! The worst part is nobody seemed to care at all. DON'T BOTHER. Sorry to say we had a horrible experience with Orkin. Called for an emergency situation as wasps had invaded a room at 6PM (turns out there was a wasp nest right above the room and they dug a hole through the ceiling) and was hopeful at the "24 HR Emergency" line. Got through to someone and he PROMISED that "wasp emergencies are dealt with seriously" and someone will be giving us a call in "an hour tops". No call after almost 2 hours, I call the number again and another lady answers; she said the guy is "probably just running late but expect a call soon." A few hours later, not even a courtesy call informing us that no one was coming anymore. No follow-ups, no calls the next day, nothing. Don't bother wasting your time. Very unreliable. read more
