We could have been anywhere, a paint by numbers chain pub. It's not bad though, in a way it's kind of fun, the staff sang along to the radio and conversed good-humouredly with the punters, and the whole process was smooth and chilled.
We got buffalo chicken wings to share. Perfectly cooked and pretty tasty and more or less spicy enough. For real wooses they give soured cream too but I didn't go near that stuff. My Beef and Merlot pie, served with colcannon and gravy wasn't bad either. It was an actual pie with an actual bottom and actual sides, and with a top as pies should be. It was tasty inside too, but there just wasn't enough solid beef in there, there was more than enough gravy though. My colcannon was a little bland, acceptable but basic, just kale and potato, I would have liked leeks or something to add a bit of sweetness and pungency to it.
