I paid almost $400 to Origins Salon for a balayage and shadow root. I asked for one thing: a natural, seamless, root-blended look. What I got was orange hair, a hard horizontal stripe of brown dye slapped across my ends, and roots so visible they defeated the entire point of the service. I gave them two chances to fix it -- and it somehow got worse and more damaged.. Both attempts failed. Still orange. Still unblended. At that point I'd been through this salon's chair three separate times and still looked like I hadn't had it done at all. I finally cut my losses and paid over $500 at another salon to undo it. Even that stylist couldn't get all the orange out. My hair now has breakage from the bleach it took just to get partway back to normal. The salon that I went to said that this was unacceptable and I should request a refund. I asked Origins for a refund. They said no -- because too much time had passed and another stylist had since touched my hair, so they "couldn't assess" what went wrong. That's a convenient excuse for a problem I only took elsewhere after they failed to fix it twice themselves. Almost $400 down. Another $500+ to undo their work. Damaged hair. Zero accountability. I've been going to Jessica for a few years now, and even though I usually only see her once a year, she always remembers exactly what I like. She's incredibly patient and takes the time to talk through everything before getting started. After some not-so-great experiences with other stylists in the past, I'm so thankful to have found her. I've never had a bad experience--my hair color always turns out amazing, and her cuts are consistently perfect. Jessica not only does a fantastic job with my hair, but she also remembers little details from our past conversations and follows up, which makes every visit feel personal and welcoming. Had a 10:30AM appointment there for which I arrived at 10:20. At approximately 10:35 I was told that Amber was "just finishing up" with a client. At 10:45 I was told again that she was just about done. At 10:50 I asked if they could get an honest update form her on when she would be finished and was told about 10 minutes. At 11AM I got up to see if she was done and she wasn't. I left, pissed off. Look, I get it that things can take longer than expected but there's no excuse for telling a client repeatedly that you're "almost done" when you know nothing could be further than the truth. Tell me you overbooked and ask me to come back - I would have. However, now I will never go back there. PS The manager heard me say that I'm never coming back on my way out and said nothing in response. No call, no nothing. Terrible customer service. read more

Would give a 3.5 if that was an option. Went in for a partial highlight. Was quoted online for this service to be $90. When the bill came it ended up being $180 (without tip). Not sure how that happened... without asking she toned my hair (probably added cost) and then offered to do a Kerastase treatment while she shampooed my hair. Didn't give me a price on that either. It is my fault I didn't ask I suppose. Didn't get a receipt which I would have liked to see the cost breakdown. Really like the products she used on my hair, it still feels healthy and strong a week later. My hair is lighter than I would have liked, but overall my stylist did a fine job. Nice, clean, and relaxing environment. Friendly staff and stylists. Based on my experience I might come back, but communicate better. read more

I don't even know where to start... I received a full highlight and extension move up from Becci. The extension move up took 4 hours, but it was free because I was her model. I was so excited, but didn't expect it to take so long. First off, she refused to put TWO sections of my extensions back in my hair due to "hair loss". And somehow my extensions are shorter than they've ever been. I'm not sure if she cut them or just placed them too high, but they are SIGNIFICANTLY shorter than when I walked in. Which considering how much I paid for them, I'm extremely upset. Not to mention Becci pressured me into buying $90 worth of shampoo and conditioner to "help my extensions" that I didn't need. I should've been more firm, but I felt completely pressured into buying them. The highlight also took 4 hours. The appointment was separated into two days back to back and by the end I was EXHAUSTED from sitting in her chair for a total of 8 hours. I showed the third photo and explained that i wanted to be fully blonde, with little to no brown at all. I noticed the second I was rinsed that my hair was not light enough. It's choppy highlights and that's not at all what I asked for. That's not even close to what I received. My past hair dressers have been able to get me to an almost platinum blonde in one sitting, but she didn't leave it on long enough and did not apply it to all my hair. I have huge brown chunks and the parts that are blonde are brassy and gold. Again not what I wanted. After I expressed that it was not blonde enough, she blamed it on the lighting and said it'll brighten over time. Well these pictures were taken two weeks later and I've used purple shampoo twice yet still nothing. Not to mention how overcharged I was. I was told the full highlight would be $135, however I was charged $35 for toner and $50 for hair extension removal and was never told I would have to pay either. I ended up paying $250, the most I've ever paid for a highlight and it was the worst service I've ever received. An absolute waste of $250. I've never been so dissatisfied with my hair and now have to pay even more out of pocket to get it fixed. Very disappointed, do not reccomend this salon. read more

He asked me if I could come back at 2pm, I said no I just came over on my short lunch break - what a waste. Then she asked if I wanted to be scheduled a different day. This place doesn't even deserve a star. They sent me away with no hair color after having an appointment for a week. They told me they couldn't do the two Colors I wanted in three hours. I talked to the owner (Kim) when I was sent away without color and had a wedding to go to two days after and she wasn't helpful at all. Absolutely love this salon! I've been going to Harmony for a little while now and she always does a fantastic job, both with cut and color. Recently got blonde balayage in my medium brown hair and it came out beautifully! My husband sees Ashley M. and she does a spectacular job on both his hair and beard. Everyone at the salon is cheery and they really care about their customers. They were super accommodating to us this past week when my toddler son needed a haircut, even with the extra COVID precautions, fitting us in with Ashley M. as well so I could be there with him to help out. Location is great, there is always parking available downtown in front of the salon and they keep everything extremely clean. You won't be disappointed! read more

Really disappointing. I waited weeks to get an appointment with who I was referred to as the best with blondes. I asked for a full highlight. I was very specific in that I didn't want to walk out and look like there was already regrowth, but that is exactly what happened. There is even a big section that is not even highlighted in the "full" highlight I received. My stylist was very friendly and a good conversationalist so that was nice, hence the two stars. Also be prepared to be upsold the minute you walk in. I was surprised to be told I could shop rather than being offered a place to sit. The highlight alone was almost $200 and three hours of my time. I absolutely love this place. I am extremely picky about my hair. After Covid 19 I desperately needed my hair to be fixed. They completely changed my look to exactly what I wanted without damaging my hair. I was transitioning from dark auburn to a more of a blond. Hard transition for most hair stylists but not Origins. They did a balayage and I am getting so many compliments. That was 3 weeks ago and my hair still feels incredible. The staff was amazing and so talented. In September I had come in for a balayage and was very excited for the change of my hair after growing it out for a couple years, I had waited a month or so for my appointment, I had a good amount of natural uncolored hair on the top/middle of my hair but the ends had previous color, I left with my hair looking like a total disaster of orange ends/orange streaks throughout and the middle section being a caramel color, the caramel color was okay but not what I asked for, my problem with this is I have never seen anyone leave the salon with hair looking this bad for the amount I had paid, I was being realistic and not expecting my hair to come out exactly like my inspiration photo after one session but thought I would have at least been able to have my ends lightened to somewhat match or atleast compliment the rest of my hair in this appointment since I did have a previous consultation and she knew the history of my hair, or even just have some blending so I didn't have blocks of different colors on my hair, except my hair came out nothing like what I asked for. When the appointment was at the end I vocalized being unhappy with my hair multiple times and was only told to "wear my hair in a bun or braids until my next appointment". I did not go and get my hair done so I can keep it up a bun for over a month, that was unprofessional and I left feeling so unhappy and wishing I had just left my hair alone to begin with. She stated she could work on my ends more at the next appointment if I set one up, although my ends weren't the only parts of my hair that needed to be fixed, so feeling hopeless I did so but ended up cancelling my appointment with her after getting multiple opinions from other people about what she should have done to my hair and how it wasn't right that I left with my hair in that shape, I did get a good haircut from her and she was polite but the color my hair was left and the "advice" given was unacceptable. read more

I'm not one to leave reviews and I hate to be the person who has something negative to say, but the haircut I got from Origins Salon was pretty terrible. I recently moved so I needed to find a new salon. I was nervous about trying a new place, but with the great ratings I figured I'd be totally fine. I asked for layers, but the outcome was terrible. I literally have a chunk of short hair hanging by my cheek bone that doesn't flow into any other layer. It sucks because layers usually frame the face, look pretty and add volume. But what I got from my stylist was a chunk of short hair in the front that doesn't frame my face and doesn't nicely lead to the next layer. When she finished the haircut I asked her to fix the randomness of a chunk, but she just cut it shorter! I thought she would at least shape it to frame my face or lead into another layer, but nope! Just a shorter chunk that stood out even more. Maybe it was just the hairdresser I had, but my experience wasn't good here. I should also note that they called about 3 times to ask me to come in later for my appt. They ended up running so late that they rescheduled me for another day. On the day that they rescheduled me, they called me twice to see if I could come in later. But that may be due to COVID and the amount of customers coming in. If that's the case, then I totally understand and won't gripe. I also have to add that they were really weird with pricing. Since they rescheduled my original appt, they offered me a free Fusio Dose treatment. When ringing me up they tried charging me and acted weird when I said they told me it would be complimentary. Thankfully I had a voicemail from them, so when I brought that up they agreed to not charge me. They also had a BOGO deal going on, buy one product get the other half off. They originally charged me full price for both, thankfully I caught it and they fixed it, but they acted weird about it. They also didn't give me a receipt. When I asked for one they acted weird again but finally emailed it to me. Based on my experience I won't come back. read more
