In response to the owners reply about I should have left them on longer to avoid bald spots and ripping them out of my head: The owner suggest to leave k tips in for 6 months however when we made the initial Install, we also made the removal appointment, anyone that is experienced in this field knows leaving them on that long will result in knotting and will create a dread lock effect Google can help with that..There was never any talk about leaving them on longer. These k tips are a 3-4 month max wear. The fact she's suggesting leaving them on for 6 months is completely unacceptable and dangerous. You are bold face lying and you know it. Own up to what you did. Your salon should not be ruining girls hair laughing while you make them cry. read more

After my second visit to this salon, I am not a satisfied customer. I knew it was going to take several appointments to get my hair color where I wanted it to be however, per Sandy, she said I was finished after the 2nd redo. After the first redo, she did ask me if I liked my results and I said I did meaning that I liked the path we were headed on; not that I was a satisfied customer or with the results to that point. After the 2nd appointment, as I checked out, Sandy told her receptionist that I was finished and all taken care of. I was not and, still am not satisfied with the color. All that has been accomplished is that my hair is beige and not anything near gray. I have no choice but to just spend another 3 years growing out my own hair color. While Sandy and her crew are super nice, the damage that her former employee did to my hair cannot be fixed. Had I not experienced this horrible hair disaster, I could see being a continuing customer. I just had an unfortunate experience at the hands of an incompetent hair stylist. read more

TO THE REVIEW LEFT BY SARA L. I have been getting extensions for over 10 years and Katie is by far the best installer and remover I have been to. I have extremely fragile hair and Katie takes such good care of it and helps with the maintenance to be sure the breakage is minimal. You will ALWAYS have some breakage and damage with extensions, it is hard on your hair. It is also very expensive. She mentioned cost in the review, extensions are not something you commit to without understanding what the cost and maintenance will be. From the cost to brushing your hair correctly to avoid mats in the back. You have to take care of them. From her review it sounds like she was quoted with the cost of the install and removal, and warned of the risks of taking the k-tips out too soon (before the bond has had a chance to breakdown) and she decided to move forward. It is not uncommon for stylists to book short appointments in between down time when having an appointment that lasts hours. Unfortunately, it is more common than not for stylists to throw gas on the fire when you go somewhere else to "fix" your hair. They want you as a client. I am 100% confident that this review is not as it seems. In my experience, Katie and I talk about what I want and she is very transparent with her thoughts, giving me all the risks involved and ideas to try to give me what I want without causing my hair more damage. As far as locking the door when her man came, I can only imagine they had a good reason. It sounds like the police had to come. Please please please, take her review with a grain of salt. I have referred many friends to Bombshell and they have all been very happy with the results and continue to be clients. read more

I tried this salon on the basis of recommendations on Nextdoor. I was given a stylist not the one that I originally had the appointment with. I went to Erin twice and both times came away very disappointed with the cut and style that she struggled with both times. I saw a "do" of another older woman and I was appalled that the woman did not notice how bad it was, with something that looked like big knots on the back of her head. I tried another stylist and the haircut, particularly the bangs, was lopsided. She only cut 1/2 of my bangs. I did not notice until I shampooed my hair another day. Stumbled upon this salon by accident about 2 years ago for a desperate color correction where everyone else said there was nothing they think they can do was told to make an appointment and they will try to bleach it. Sandy took me in and that day at that moment and knew exactly what to do. I looked just stunning when i left that day nearly 4 hours later. I went to this salon to have my beaded extensions put in and moved up. I was Told they had a professional who knew what she was doing that could help. HA! She didn't even have the right tools! Had a great hair cut appointment but woke up the next morning with the worst razor burn I've ever seen. My whole neck is swollen to the point where it hinders mobility. I contacted the shop and the owner down played my injury to an allergy reaction. Only the areas where it was razored is irritated not my whole scalp and product wasn't in the shaved area which makes this not an allergic reaction. As much as they say they take sanitation seriously I've consulted with 4 different hair stylist and their professional opinion is unsanitary razor along with no usage of shaving cream. I did not get a good haircut here. I went in to have my long straight hair trimmed and asked for long layers. The salon was nice, it was easy to get a last minute appointment and everyone was very friendly. However, my cut by Bri was pretty poor. The sides were completely uneven by nearly an inch and while I asked for layers, she really didn't cut any except for a few choppy ones down low. At the end of my haircut, I did express my concern with one side being longer and she gave me a funny look and said, "sometimes it's hard to tell" and trimmed a couple small pieces. At that point, I didn't want her messing with my hair anymore. The cut was really bad - I did not trust that she could fix it, so I drove to my old stylist in Denver and spent the money to have someone I trust fix it. (I also want to add, I'm disappointed Yelp filtered another review from someone having the same issues. Had I seen it, I may not have gone to this stylist and avoided spending $38 on a bad haircut). read more

The whole staff is super friendly. They have a great waiting area and always offer drinks and have samples of products to take home. I've only been going to Hair Design Team since the summer, and though I've been satisfied with my stylist, I've been extremely disappointed with the quality of service outside of getting my hair colored and cut. I've personally witnessed the salon owner talking poorly about her staff employees openly in the salon, and felt pressured by her to buy product when my stylist was in the back mixing color. She didn't even have enough faith in her employees to give them a chance to discuss it with me themselves. Even though my stylist left and I'm not sure of the salon she moved to, I have no desire to return. If the salon owner can't talk about her own staff positively, then why should I see them that way? I have been supporting this salon for several years, an appointment every 3 weeks at $40+, buying products and my customer loyalty. I have experienced walking out of there with good haircuts and there are times when I walk out thinking, "do they ever listen to their customer, they are so busy talking to each other across the salon, very distracted and not 100% focused on you and styling your hair." I even had an appointment with the same hair dresser that had been styling my hair (different every time and not my vision for my hair) that did not show up for an appointment and I had no choice but to get yet another screwed up style from another hairdresser. I got no apology for that. After that incident, I had enough, so I made an appointment with the owner, Sandy. I was excited because I knew that I would finally get a great cut from a highly experienced stylist, I had to wait over 30 minutes from my appointment time, because she was overbooked. I brought in a picture of what we were going to strive for, she did not look at my hair before she made the 1st cut; then I hear the dreaded words, "Oh, No!" Sandy had cut a huge chunk of my bangs almost to the crown of my forehead and it was down hill from there. She knew she had completely screwed up, she wasn't paying attention, seemed in a hurry, too busy doing PR with clients and people that walked in...she was not focused on me! The funny thing is, she charged me $58 for a hair cut that she knew she screwed up on. I have to live with this hair cut for about 6 weeks and am embarrassed; there is no styling that can get this right because there is no hair on my forehead. Needless to say, I no longer have loyalty and am searching for a new hair salon. Sorry, Sandy. There is an old expression, "Keep your eye on the donut and not the hole"; the person in your chair that pays your salary, is the most important person at the time. I had not been to many salons in Castle Rock as I am new to the area, so when my mom found Hair Design Team, I thought I would give them a try. They were extremely nice and got me in right away with Bri. Bri was very friendly and professional, but unfortunately, the haircut was horrible. It was very choppy and uneven. The layers did not lay right and were really "heavy." One side was longer than the other. I tried to explain that I wanted it blended together and not so choppy and uneven, but she didn't seem to know what I meant. I don't have experience with the other stylists so I cannot comment on their ability. I don't like to write negative reviews, but this haircut was bad enough that I felt the need to comment. read more

Well where do I begin. First sandy the owner is always late. So if you have to be somewhere make sure u make your appointment early. She is always at least 20 to 30 min late in the morning because she can't wake up in time. So it throws her entire day off. Which is why she has assistants. She even once made one of her assistance drive from Denver to work in a blizzard even though she only lived down the street just because she didn't want to come in. She made her stay there for a few hours before letting her go home and when the girl did leave she was in a horrible car accident injuring her pretty bad. Yet she was still expected to get to work that whole week no matter what. She seems very nice but make sure not to enclose your personal life with her because it will be the laughing gossip of the salon later (while other clients are there as well). No matter how personal it was she will disclose it to her next client and to her employees as its a joke. She treats her assistants like children and is particularly demeaning to BRI. She is racist and homophobic with comments I've heard from my own ears. But yet will apologize about it later trying to make up for it. If you wrong her she will do anything in her power to wrong you back. She does the same exact haircut on each client no matter what. An never checks it to ensure that its even but most her clients have been with her so long they won't notice. Every time she comes she misses a spot.
