Once you hire them, the portal you use to answer their questionnaires and communicate with a member from their team, is super user friendly! I hired the team for 8 hours. 2 photographers and 1 videographer. (Shout out to Carly's team!) I am 100% happy with the package (The Ruby) I chose. I can only describe this team using 1 word. PHENOMENAL. Once they arrived to my venue, they got straight to work. They asked for any special items they can grab to take pictures of while my girls and I got ready. We booked the package that included 2 photographers and a videographer. After receiving our photo gallery this week, I will say that the editing team did a decent job with what they were given. The reason I'm writing this review is to warn potential clients that there is no way of knowing if you will get a quality photography team - unfortunately we did not. This company hires freelance photographers and ours were... bad. Despite us setting aside time for formal portraits at the venue and making it clear that was our number one priority, I had to keep begging them to take more photos under the floral arch that I spent thousands on. The edited photos we received are off center, my dress is cut off, and the angles are unflattering. I kept asking the photographers if I should change my stance etc. and they refused to give any feedback. If you want someone to pay attention to what they are photographing & tell you to turn 3 inches to the rights and put your shoulders back, please go with a smaller vendor that gives you the opportunity to meet with the actual photographers you will be working with. The attitude overall was really disappointing, they barely spoke to us and the entire time they made us feel like we were inconveniencing them - total vibe killer. There were 2 photographers and when we asked if we could get photos with tables as we walked around to visit during dinner they said "we're waiting to eat dinner." Why they BOTH had to eat at the same time is beyond me, but we missed out on a lot of photo opportunities because of that! There are some great moments captured out of mostly luck because the wedding itself was wonderful overall. But brides who want to ensure your photographer cares about their job, please consider going with another vendor even if it's not as affordable. read more

We initially went with Sound Originals out of cost consideration and ease of booking because their combined photo/video package seemed so much more cost effective than many of the quotes we were getting from individual photographers and videographers. We assumed therefore that the quality might be a bit diminished by comparison, but were quite pleasantly surprised to discover that this was not the case! We are beyond pleased with the coverage they provided of our wedding and reception, and would certainly recommend Sound Originals to anyone seeking photo/video of their big day. Our team on the day of the wedding were absolute rock stars. Kate, Trung, and Travis all were incredibly friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond in ensuring we had excellent photos and video--both candids and plandids. We're so grateful to each of them for their excellent work! If you're considering booking Sound Originals, there is one practical consideration we might offer, however: Their business model seems streamlined to provide a standardized product and level of quality to many clients at once by contracting with local photographers and videographers--this is great for ensuring that clients know what to expect visually and that the company has backup photographers ready in case any members of the assigned team can't make it, but this also seems to come at the cost of personal touch when communicating with the company and the photo/video team. Our communications with them were always through a portal on their website and often felt rather impersonal. This was a trade off we were perfectly fine with, given the very affordable price we paid for our package and the piece of mind in knowing that even if our lead photographer got sick or something, someone else would be there to fill in. The communication with the originalWedding was always top tier! We communicated through their portal or my husband and I always received answers within 24 hours. They showed up to our venue 30 minutes prior to the wedding and scoped out the best photo spots. One of our photographers ended up joining our party because of the amazing vibes he gave off and he was just a delight throughout the night. Do not go with them. I'm in a fight with them regarding pricing and their practices. Read the bad reviews because they're all true. They do use freelancers and take no responsibility when something goes wrong. We paid for engagement photos, took off work, fiance paid to get her hair and make up done. We were AT the location and they canceled. We rescheduled and paid extra money to have the photos deliver to us faster since we were cutting it close to send save the dates out. We only got half the photos back in time and the others were uploaded later. We decided to cancel our contract (we already paid for half the total; around 2K) and they're requiring another $1000 cancelation fee. As of right now I have a lawyer looking over the original contract and there's a ton of things that could easily be challenged in court. Also, they changed their name from Sound Originals, LLC so look them up too. Probably to get away from their bad reputation. read more

We are so happy with Sound Original's quality and professionalism. I had been shopping around for photography and videography then my planner showed me their website. I was on their Instagram page and after crying through at least 5 of their videos, I knew they were who I wanted to work with. We had our initial interview on Zoom to go over any questions I had, and also get a good timeline of the day's events. All questions and messaging go through their website and photo portal they set up for you. It's nice because this portal is also where your digital photos/videos end up. The day of the wedding, Kate our photographer and Dylan our videographer were both so lovely. They give direction when needed but are flies on the wall to get the perfect candid photos. We had high hopes for this experience, but there were several unexpected issues along the way. The videographer we had been in contact with was switched last minute without any notice, and the drone footage we expected was never delivered. When we finally got our video, the first version had watermarks all over it, making it fully unusable, and it took another whole month to get the corrected version, largely delaying the plan of sharing with our families. What really caught us off guard was the lack of any reminder before they deleted our files after 14 days. Our final version were delivered in Nov. last year, and I want to download it in Jan. 2025. They said it is too late to get it and ask for $475. They then offer extended storage for an extra $100, but it wasn't something they actively highlighted before the deadline. The frustrating part wasn't just the fee itself which we can pay if it is reasonable and requires efforts, but the way it was handled--rigid policies, no flexibility, and a lack of proactive communication. But the worst part? When we tried to have a reasonable discussion, the CEO personally stepped in--not to resolve the issue, but to accuse us of trying to get free services and making threats. Instead of any effort to address the service issues we raised, we were met with hostile messages lecturing us to "read the contract," "know the law," and "wait for legal mail at home." He completely dismissed the fact that we had never demanded free services--only a fair discussion about the handling of the storage expiration and lack of notification. We never asked for a free two-year storage backup form them. Apparently, even mentioning that we would share our honest experience with others was enough for him to claim we were issuing threats. You will probably soon see his feedbacks accusing his customers like other platforms. I have never been treated this way by any other wedding vendor. Every other business we worked with was professional, understanding, and willing to find reasonable solutions. If you choose to work with them and want a smoother experience, be sure to download your video immediately, because once your access expires, you'll have no option but to pay--regardless of the circumstances. BEWARE. Sound Originals' CEO Dan Cassuto refused to give us even a partial refund of our 50% deposit (amounting to $3,000) even after it became clear they would not be able to provide services for our wedding. Dan declined to sign the photographer agreement from our venue, Disneyland, after raising multiple concerns with it but ultimately because of a paragraph which he stated was unlike anything he'd seen from "thousands" of venues: "Photographer shall be solely responsible for any and all costs and expenses incurred in connection with its activities on the Premises...any actual labor costs, (including without limitation, employee benefits)". One could understand that coming from Disney this may sound daunting, but if Sound Originals had truly worked with thousands of venues, their contract should be sound enough to place any unexpected venue costs on their client. Dan admitted his contract did not address this issue, and he was careful not to explicitly state he would not be providing our services, but obviously we were not going to pay the remaining deposit, as they would obviously not be permitted to perform services at our venue. We offered $500 for his troubles but requested the remainder as a refund. Dan said "so sorry" but without any legitimate justification said he could not provide a refund. We disputed with the bank and when Dan was contacted, he sent us a menacing e-mail saying that he wins every dispute, and that if he didn't he would take us to court and request legal fees as well. The nuances of our situation may not apply to anyone else. The bottom line is Sound Originals may or may not provide services for you, but no matter what happens, whether it's their fault or unavoidable circumstances, if they get your money they will GUARANTEE you will never see it again. read more

Overall, decent experience. Most of the pictures were great quality, however they missed important shots like getting a picture of us, just the two of us in the church. Also, the attention to detail seemed off. For example, our cake picture has the cake topper cut off. It just seems like this is a basic photography skill that was lacking. Honestly, somewhat disappointed in some of the photos/lack of the obvious photo options that should've been taken. Lastly, all communication was done through an online portal, which we didn't love because it made the entire experience less personal. We chose Sound Originals for our wedding photography and videography originally because they had great reviews and the pricing was very reasonable compared to others we were looking at. The process was easy from the start. Jordan has been our main contact throughout the process and she has been so helpful the whole time! You are given a client portal and it's so easy to navigate. Basically anything you need is in that portal. Our wedding day came and our photographer, Alex and videographer, Manny were both so great. They were both very good at directing us with what to do and how to pose. We were able to connect with them on a personal level as well and that made it feel very comfortable. We had asked for a group photo with all of our guests and Alex made sure to get that done right after the ceremony to make sure everyone was still around. We got a surprise sneak peak of our photos less then two weeks after our wedding, then we were surprised with our wedding video less than two weeks after too! It came out so beautifully and captured every moment. As I'm writing this review, only two weeks after our wedding, I received an email that our photos are ready. Everything was so amazing and was sent to us so quickly and everyone was so kind and helpful throughout the whole process. We 100% would recommend Sound Originals to anyone.. These people are a scam. They consistently have bad reviews removed from The Knot to trick potential clients into signing with them. The process was rushed, and they used predatory tactics to force us into signing a contract quickly without giving us time to think about it. Once we signed, we were hit with hidden fees at every turn, and the pricing that seemed too good to be true was exactly that -- false. There were constant upcharges that were never disclosed upfront, making the whole experience feel deceptive. After expressing dissatisfaction with their service, they threatened legal action and attempted to send me to collections for canceling due to poor-quality photos. To make matters worse, the photos we received were subpar and didn't match the quality they promised. They also failed to address our concerns professionally and never offered any reparations for the poor service. On top of all of this, they used my fiancé's image for their promotional material without obtaining consent -- a clear violation of our rights. I would strongly advise against using this company. They are not trustworthy, and their practices are designed to manipulate and take advantage of clients. This company delivered pretty much as-advertised. The quality of most things were good and the experience with the photographer was great. Our main issue lies in the handling of our wedding highlight video. Dealing with them made us feel pretty small. Our main complaint is that we shared PRIVATE vows at a PRIVATE first look. We wanted these recorded, but these vows were for our eyes and ears only. To our shock and dismay, Sound Originals put them in our highlight video without consulting us and uploaded it to YouTube for the world to see - the most vulnerable moment of our lives. Now...... YES, we signed a contract that said they could post it, but we had no idea our private vows would be posted publicly! Simple context clues make it pretty clear that we wouldn't want our PRIVATE vows online. We asked them to take it down, and they refused to do so - instead they just changed our names in the title of the video. They have HUNDREDS of wedding videos uploaded, and even though we feel extremely uncomfortable with ours being on YouTube, they refuse to take it down. To us, this is about our feelings, not a contract we signed. Unfortunately, they don't see it that way. We are left with a horrible taste in our mouths when we think about our highlight video, because it feels like they care more about having that one video posted than how we feel. Now, we COULD have requested revisions, but those cost a significant amount of money. We were told that we were given the opportunity to pay for revisions at a discount when we signed our contract, but why would I pay for revisions before even seeing the video? Seemed weird to us. DO NOT HIRE SOUND ORIGINALS FOR YOUR WEDDING PHOTOS AND VIDEOS. BEWARE! My husband and I got married in Sep 2023 at Crystal Mountain Resort. We had 13 vendors... 11/13 were 4.5+ stars, one 4 star, and Sound original should be negative stars. Honestly, the arrogance of the company owner is what pushes it negative. We started having problems with them not long after we signed the contract. Read further for the details of our engagement with Sound Originals and our negative experience working with them: 1. Not long after signing the contract, we had a call with their coordinator. She was nice, but generally clueless, especially on our venue. She had never been, not familiar with the venue, gondola. Oh, no, no, no... She took notes where we were getting married. Fast forward a few months. Photographer and videographer are now assigned to wedding. We are ready for our planning call. Nope. Our call with the coordinator that collected venue information several months back was apparently our contractual "planning call". We didn't "plan" anything in that call... She didn't help us with timelines, etc. And we were going to get charged to now have a call with our photographer and plan the day. Our venue was a little complex- hotel, Gondola, Mountaintop Ceremony, Reception at Ski Lodge. We could not "explain" any of this unless we paid more money. They would not let us talk with our photographer and videographer. In hindsight, the so-called 'contractual' planning call was a disaster. Photographer showed up day of wedding, had no clue where to go- there's only a simple address she put in her GPS. Because we refused to pay money that a common sense 15 min call would solve. The owner doubled down and tripled down on milking us for money. We got the proverbial middle finger from the owner. $ or no call to tell the photographer where to go. 2. We paid for the drone videography as part of our package. We worked with Crystal Mountain and filled all the drone paperwork months in advance. Two nights before the wedding- and the owner of Sound tells us he doesn't think we can do the drone. He isn't a drone pilot, but he doesn't think you can fly a drone there. Our response is simple... Your team got all the drone paperwork months ago, permits were pulled, CM has a whole process with the US govt for permitting for said drones- they've had many weddings with drones. He made a massive deal out of something that turned out to be irrelevant, to the bride and groom, two nights before the ceremony, are dealing with the photography company telling us that the permits worked on months ago didn't matter, and his opinion was it wasn't happening. The drone operator showed up at the mountain and was like, I'm sorry... this is no problem, we have all the permits, its completely legal. I have no idea why this became a crisis with Dan 2 nights before the wedding- It became a crisis because the owner of sound photography chose to make it one. Like where was his concerns MONTHS before when all the paperwork and permits were sent in/filled out. 3. The actual photographer and videographer (which are simply contract folks to Sound) were actually nice people on day of. Because they are independent, stalk them down on social media and hire them directly. Don't go through Sound. We had a super positive day-of interaction- of course, with a bit too much explaining two hours before the wedding they needed to go up a gondola, mountaintop, where the reception is, etc. 4. Editing. Shooting photos with Mt Rainier in the background is challenging for any photographer. You can't control Mt. Rainier and the sun location relative to the Wedding Ceremony location. Fair. But you can edit a photo afterwards to make the mountain pop a little more. When the photos were delivered, there were some great photos. But our general concern, was you couldn't see Mount Rainier in the mountain top photos. Imagine paying $10,000 venue for Mt Rainier as your backdrop, and its whitewashed in the photos. As a photography company, if a bride and groom say- can you take these 3-5 photos and make the mountain more visible, I think every normal human being would say, sure, even if not part of the package you signed, but we can do it for $100. We would have paid for editing for select photos. Nope, they won't touch the photos. Our only choice: Buy the raw image for $800 and have another firm make the mountain visible. And contractually, even though you have a digital copy of their package, you CAN NOT edit those. $800 if you want to see Rainier and send to another firm to edit 3 photos. Wish I could say something nice. We were going to use them for our wedding and had something big and unexpected happen to the point our wedding is completely postponed and it's a $600 charge to change the date ontop of the 50% of the invoice we already paid and 50% of the remaining balance to cancel. So now we've paid 3k with little to no actual correspondence for a date that 8 months away. While I respect and can acknowledge people need to be paid. It's asinine and unfortunate. Life happens and while I would understand if they had already did a lot of work preparing but I don't even know who was coordinating our photographs. Sound Originals was awesome to work with. Jordan was our PM and Josie was our photographer and both were so great to work with. Jordan was super responsiveness in text answering all our questions. We chose them cause they were cheaper but got great reviews. They can be cheaper cause they have a great system in place (you work through a portal) and it's a la carte so if you don't need engagement photos, you aren't paying for them automatically. You don't meet your photographer beforehand except a possible call you can schedule, and we were a little weary of that. But Josie was awesome! My husband and I wanted professional photos and video of our special day and that's what we received. The client portal was easy to use. The experience isn't super flexible or personalizable, so if that is something you want then maybe this isn't the choice for you. We had our wedding January 2023 and hired Sound Originals for our photos and videos. The team did an amazing job! they were on time, very fun, and professional. They gave great instructions for the pictures and even showed us fun poses. Throughout the wedding they took amazing pictures of everyone and the video turned out amazing. IF YOU THOUGHT ALL THESE 5 STAR REVIEWS WERE TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, YOU ARE CORRECT. Book a different company if you want to feel taken care of as a customer and want good memories of your wedding day. They clearly do whatever THEY want when it comes to your wedding photos, and take little consideration from YOU as their paying couple. It is obvious they incentivize couples to leave 5 star reviews to cover the bad ones. Looking at other poor reviews that are only weeks a part, it seems all of our experiences are very similar and Sound Originals is used to not taking the blame for anything or fixing the problem. I was also given a contract that in order to receive my RAW photos which were already included in my package, I couldn't leave a negative comment anywhere, so I have decided to forfeit the RAW photos in hopes to warn others. Their site is very misleading, as they are in fact NOT committed to what you want on your big day. I told them we were missing key photos that should be standard in a wedding gallery (portraits of the bride and groom), but was met with blame and their unwillingness to accept their fault. Their list of excuses is never ending and it just showed me that they must deal with unhappy clients all the time. I understand not everyone will be happy, but the difference with this company is that they don't provide solutions for your complaints, and will just blame you at all costs.
