Although it's the closest spiritual shop to where I live, I still prefer to order in bulk from their website and have it shipped for free rather than dealing with the toll bridge and parking situation. I am giving one star because I ordered a very expensive candle with the candle burning service online. I specifically told them via the note to seller part and also via email - email (several emails), what I wanted to be inscribed on the candle and I sent a picture to have attached. Each time I contacted them via email the person responding came across as very uncaring and did not answer my questions fully. Today, Saturday, 9/1/18 I received a picture from Carlos of my candle and it has the order number and just my first and last name basically just a generic order label. I paid a lot of money for the candle and service and do not appreciate not getting the service I requested. When I called the store to speak to someone I was put on hold for over ten minutes. I feel this is a scam and doubt the reviews on thier shop are real, I think they are made up reviews on thier shop. I tried to leave a review on the shop but noticed it would not go through, that's because they are fake. I would like to receive a refund back because this is not what I asked for at all and I am very disappointed in the service I have received. also, I was charged over 11.00 bucks for shipping that they kept. They search you on the internet and throw names and information that they find in your search. I've been a customer for over 20 years. I prefer to order online and have products deliver to my house. I used to work perfectly for me as I live out of state. If something was broken, they will replace it free of charge. However. The last time, they sent me all perfumes when all I ordered were oils. When I called them to explain the situation, the woman on the phone told me that she found it "too hard to believe" and refuse to replace the perfumes for the oils I ordered and paid for. She was very rude and nasty. Now I have like 20 perfumes that I cannot use and no oils. What a SCAM! Shame on you guys for mistreating and stealing from a loyal customer of over 20 years! The Gold Standard Botanica in NYC which has just about everything you could need/want. I've been to maybe 30+ botanicas across the country and the only one that's better is F and F in New Orleans. They have a really great selection of candles and oils here although I suspect the oils are mostly synthetic (if that bothers you). I was terribly disappointed with their service! I am a first time customer , when i first called to place an order, I very clearly asked the lady a few times on the phone if the holy 7 day candles were different from the ones that were sold in Kroger and Walmart, and if it would BURN FOR A FULL 7 DAYS.. SHE ASSURED ME THAT THEY WOULD AND THATS WHY THEY WERE CHARGING $6.95 for each candle...!!! After that i agreed to place an order for 12 candles at the rate of $6.95 for each candle totaling to $83.40. I received the package on time, I was surprised that it was packed in a Pampers box. I opened the box and to my surprise i found that i was sent only 8 candles. I immediatly called the company and USPS and informed them of the problem and they said it would take time but they would look into the matter and get back to me. I decided to light the candle on the day i received it, which was Tuesday the 10th 0f July at 3pm. The candle burnt out on Saturday the 14th of July at 10am. on Sunday I emailed the company and explained all that had happened, still haven't heard back from them. I called the company today the 16th of July at 12.27pm and informed the lady on the phone about the candle not lasting for the 7 days like promised, she was rude, insulting, and very disrespectful. She informed me that they could do nothing about the problem and disconnected on me. I for one will never trust that company again. they take your money and they don't stand by their product. Had a phone reading last night that I paid $75 for. The reading lasted less than 30 minutes and was, at first impression, good, but now I realize I was scammed. At first I was impressed that my grandmother's name came up immediately, but then two other names were mentioned as family members, supposedly names being "told to me" by my grandmother. The names rang a bell in my head but I could not for the life of me remember WHY. The reader Alex was throwing out names, he saw part of husband's name, his two brothers, his sister. Impressive, right? Well only until I went online and did an online search for myself. The two names that he "heard" from my grandmother, are two names that show up as connected to me but they are NOT family members. My family and I even often laugh wondering who the hell these people are. My husband's name? Well the reason the "reader" only saw part of it, is because only a PART of his full hyphenated name is online. And if you click on my husband's name, guess what? All HIS relatives show up. However, despite being able to pull all these names out of the air, my two kids names not only did not come up, but he didnt even mention that I had children until I mentioned one child and he gave me some vague reassurance that "she'll be ok". How do you see all these relatives including the exact names of fake ones, but never see my kids or the names kf any of my relatives who are NOT connected to me in internet searches? My other child was NEVER mentioned, and my deceased grandmother adored that one and they were very close. Honestly, I dont think he was reading cards on the phone - I think he was doing internet searches on his computer while I sat there on the phone. Very sad and disappointing because I know there are legitimate readers out there but all of the names I received were obviously from the internet (my grandmother and others would never identify by their first names, they had nicknames and middle names they were known by but the first name on the internet was what they came through as) and the advice I received was vague ("watch your health" came up for me, my husband, my daughter when I brought her up, and my mom. Well who doesnt need to do that? Thats it?) Sadly I had a cart full of items that I was prepared to buy from this store but I will be taking my business elsewhere. Based on other reviews and this scam reading, I cannot buy my products here. I had also recommended getting a reading to my sister in law but I have told her to save her $. Love this place!!! First off I received my order on time fast delivery!! However my lodestones were so tiny size of studs. Write my review and within 2 days Yessi got back to me apologizing for the size stating they'll fix the website. She gave me tips on how to use the size I had. Not even that Yessi proceeded to go a step further didnt have to and she sent me a green mogo bag, lodestones larger size, and lodestone oil within two days. i've been looking for a Botanica to go to for a very long time where I could feel comfortable and I think I finally found it. there weren't any greetings at the door which didn't bother me. right away I found things I was looking for. they have a great assortment of candles, herbs, and a lot more. their book shelf was decent as well. i found a book I wanted for a long time (which I bought) and I saw a book I already had, which made me feel even more comfortable. the atmosphere was great, Michael Jackson played on the radio while people shopped and talked to employees. I like to make my own potions and baths and find that I can get better prices for many items in the supermarket. For example, I went to an African supermarket and got a 5 lb. jar of palm oil for cheap. I couldn't afford to get that much palm oil at Original. The price would be through the roof! Also, I wanted an oil that was not on the shelf. I went to the back and asked a lady in the stockroom if that oil was available. She took a bottle with red liquid in it, slapped on the appropriate label and gave it to me. So...does this oil have the pertinent ingredients in it to make it potent or not?? So today, this terrified girl walked into this huge store overwhelmed and confused about where to turn about things. I asked for a reading/consult. The nicest super tall man (whose name escapes me currently) greeted me with a huge smile and even walked me over to a spiritual consult with Roxy because he could see that I was scared. The largest Botanica I've been to. I was easily able to find the things I needed, and if I couldn't locate it, someone was there to help. And if they didn't have it on the shelves and it was something they could make on the spot, they did. I wanted some Ambergris oil, and the lady in the back, whipped it up in less than 3 minutes. This is unlike other Botanica's I've visited that were small/dark places. Which seems to be the norm. This definitely had a warehouse quality. I also got great advice on a specific herb and other products. I found the workers friendly, although some were overwhelmed it seemed, but that didn't bother me. They were not starving for customers, this is the place to go for supplies. Even if you don't know what you need, ask the person behind the customer service counter (not the cashier counter) and he/she will know exactly what to give you.
