I'm a shamanic healer and sometimes have to deal with some supernatural situations. Helpful staff. Great products. Had everything I needed - herbs, aqua de Florida, candles and great guidance how to cleanse and protect my clients, myself and my property from unwanted occult negative forces. It worked very well. This is my go to Botanica for all my needs now. read more

I have been Crowned Shango for 18 years and an Ifa Priest for 13 years as well as born and raised in this Religion. Alex's botanica is by far the most reasonably priced, organized, and welcoming! After the pandemic, when things started picking back up, I went to several botanicas looking for warrior tool sets, meaning Ogun's Pot/cauldron, tools for inside including Ochosi's bow and arrow, and Osun. Excuse my "French" but the bullshit Botanica Oshun, in Harlem on 116, want $100!!!! others wanted $60+. It was as if they were trying to make back the money they couldn't make during the pandemic on the back of honest hard-working Priests, like myself and my brothers. I was super discouraged, but Alex had the set of warriors and other items, of better quality, for WAY LESS. Not only that but he recognized me as an Oluo and formally saluted me by touching the floor and saying "Iboru, Iboya" in front of all the other patrons! I could not believe it. An actual botanica owner who not only knows how to salute but, after talking, is also an Olosha (Osha iniciate)! I swear this is not an ego thing, believe me anyone, who really knows me, will tell you this type of attention mortifies me, but it was humbly appreciated. If not for the fact that I don't drive and I live in the Bronx, I would frequent his botanica way more often!! read more

Always friendly service and great selection of items. Prices are great and it's a welcoming and safe space.

I got my brother's chanukah present here - a can of Jinx Remover Spray. I think he could use it. They have candles and potions and stuff here too. Only $2 for the spray. So, that's pretty cheap for that function, I wonder how long the spray lasts though. It was busy when I went today. That is usually a good sign. read more

Been coming here for decades!! They supply other botánicas so if they don't have it here is because they don't have it anywhere else. Fresh herbs are the most abundant here. The prices are fair and the owner is very knowledgeable. He's the nicest and funniest person there! read more

Great place to buy cheap candles, semi-precious stones and sage. They can also fix candles for you for a cheap price. I've gotten them for protection and healing. It gets packed sometimes. They have a huge statue of Saint Lazarus at the entrance and they told me he's their Saint. ( It's Candelaria not candalaria ) read more

Alex, Angel and their team are honestly the best! You can find anything you need and more from la candelaria. I have lived in NY my whole life and have gone from botanica to botanica, borough to borough and have to say hands down they are the best, they have everything you need from sticks, to candles to powders, oils, you name it and they have it. What I most love about them is that all their products are 100% legit exported and imported from cuba and other places where our roots may be. speaking of roots, yes they have roots, flowers, plants, fresh and dry. One thing ive always loved about coming here is that they have the things I need and if they don't they will most definitely try their best to get it for you. And if they don't have it they will guide you until you get it. Its more than a botanica its really a familiar friendly place where you can go and will always be recieved by a warm smile and hospitality. They prepare candles for your every need , and personalized which is something you dont see. I have even gone to the bronx where botanicas are everywhere but the truth is no one can compete with them. They go above and beyond from the products you're looking for to the legitamacy of their products. Thank you candelaria for being the best in NY! To be Frank I do not work for them or are afiliated in any way. I have been coming here since I was 6 with my parents and have been customers for so long for one reason, that is you dont need to go anywhere else, they got it.

It's a nice spot that really has everything you could need. They have very knowledgeable staff here that will guide you to the best option, and not just the most expensive thing that they're trying to sell. They have a great selection of jewelry and charms too. Worth a visit and great prices! read more

I have been going to this Botanica for a long time now and must say they are very busy but the staff works with you I personally love angel

The prices are very reasonable. Their oils were only $1. Their candles range from $1.50-$1.75. Their removable candles were only $3 and many bath liquids and perfumes were $2 to $2.50, which is a lot cheaper than most Botanicas. read more

I have been going to Candelaria for years, I travel almost an hour to get there. I used to see one of the owners there all the time, Alex. He is wonderful, but, lately it seems the entire staff is new, Alex is not there as much and his brother, who is, is very unfriendly and cold. This had been my go to place for years, my Godmother sends all her Godchildren there, but, I have to say, I will NOT go back there. I don't speak Spanish, I always got by because Alex would be there, and, he would either tell the staff to be patient and help me (I usually show up with a translated list), or, he would do it himself. This time, I stood at the counter waiting my turn, when it came to my turn, I was passed over a few times. I tried to ask for help, but, was ignored. I was snubbed because I don't speak Spanish. It hurt me because I have spent a LOT of money there in the past. It wasn't the first time, and, Alex had said he was trying to diversify, but, it was BAD BAD BAD. I was embarassed and eventually just walked out...20 minutes later. So sad, it was my favorite place for supplies. Now, I will order online exclusively. I won't go through that again. Lost a faithful customer. read more

This was my first time in this shop. I went for eucalyptus candles which they didn't have, but the gentleman in the shop was extremely helpful and offered some suggestions on where I can find them and showed me several candles that were similar. He was also very patient while I figured out what I wanted. I walked out happy with a beautiful pendulum that works for me as well as a eucalyptus perfume. Thank you! read more
