After the pandemic, when things started picking back up, I went to several botanicas looking for warrior tool sets, meaning Ogun's Pot/cauldron, tools for inside including Ochosi's bow and arrow, and Osun. Excuse my "French" but the bullshit Botanica Oshun, in Harlem on 116, want $100!!!! others wanted $60+. It was as if they were trying to make back the money they couldn't make during the pandemic on the back of honest hard-working Priests, like myself and my brothers. I was super discouraged, but Alex had the set of warriors and other items, of better quality, for WAY LESS. Not only that but he recognized me as an Oluo and formally saluted me by touching the floor and saying "Iboru, Iboya" in front of all the other patrons! I could not believe it. An actual botanica owner who not only knows how to salute but, after talking, is also an Olosha (Osha iniciate)! I swear this is not an ego thing, believe me anyone, who really knows me, will tell you this type of attention mortifies me, but it was humbly appreciated. I got my brother's chanukah present here - a can of Jinx Remover Spray. I think he could use it. They have candles and potions and stuff here too. Only $2 for the spray. So, that's pretty cheap for that function, I wonder how long the spray lasts though. It was busy when I went today. That is usually a good sign. read more

Great place to buy cheap candles, semi-precious stones and sage. They can also fix candles for you for a cheap price. I've gotten them for protection and healing. It gets packed sometimes. The prices are very reasonable. Their oils were only $1. Their candles range from $1.50-$1.75. Their removable candles were only $3 and many bath liquids and perfumes were $2 to $2.50, which is a lot cheaper than most Botanicas. read more

This was my first time in this shop. I went for eucalyptus candles which they didn't have, but the gentleman in the shop was extremely helpful and offered some suggestions on where I can find them and showed me several candles that were similar. He was also very patient while I figured out what I wanted. I walked out happy with a beautiful pendulum that works for me as well as a eucalyptus perfume. Thank you! read more

I have been going to Candelaria for years, I travel almost an hour to get there. I used to see one of the owners there all the time, Alex. He is wonderful, but, lately it seems the entire staff is new, Alex is not there as much and his brother, who is, is very unfriendly and cold. This had been my go to place for years, my Godmother sends all her Godchildren there, but, I have to say, I will NOT go back there. I don't speak Spanish, I always got by because Alex would be there, and, he would either tell the staff to be patient and help me (I usually show up with a translated list), or, he would do it himself. This time, I stood at the counter waiting my turn, when it came to my turn, I was passed over a few times. I tried to ask for help, but, was ignored. I was snubbed because I don't speak Spanish. It hurt me because I have spent a LOT of money there in the past. It wasn't the first time, and, Alex had said he was trying to diversify, but, it was BAD BAD BAD. I was embarassed and eventually just walked out...20 minutes later. So sad, it was my favorite place for supplies. Now, I will order online exclusively. I won't go through that again.
