The owners are very sweet and their message of empowerment, unity and love is inspiring. Everywhere yoh look are inspirational quotes and sayings. Beautiful multipurpose space that specializes in making natural body products. Such as soaps, serums, butters, incense, body oils, lip glosses and more. Went to this place because of a Yelp event. I'm glad that it was held here, at an amazing space in the Bronx. In a place that is own by two BLACK gentlemen who deemed their store as a safe space for OUR People of color to come to if they need to get away from anything bothering them. Zambo is truly as good as it's cracked up to be and then some. It seems all I do nowadays is trek everywhere just to get natural products for my curly hair without chemicals and additives. I Yelped Zambo a few months ago and anxiously waited to visit this shop in the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx. It was everything I expected it to be. It's unsettling that every time I step into Ulta or Sephora, I'm always asking someone to help me locate the right products for my natural curly hair. And a lot of those times, folks have zero experience or understanding of what curly hair is. Not here. I'm super glad, I had a chance to talk to Carlton who went above and beyond to help me understand the meaning behind their products with African ingredients that are used to promote softness, manageability, detangling and maintenance. But Zambo is really more than just hair. There are Candles, Soaps, Jewelry, Essential Oils, loose Herbs and other products. Design is simple with products displayed on wooden shelves, flooring is natural and space has an overall openness. I think the key to Zambo Aroma's success is that it blends natural ingredients with their own expertise to make hair care, body care and mind products as simple but as rich as possible. In the meantime, when it comes to natural hair products for my curly hair, I'll opt out of those mainstream beauty stores (though I love them for makeup and fragrances) and support Zambo. read more

I first discovered Zambo through an event. The space is great, wooden floors, great feel, great owners with a wonderful story, and more importantly Black owned. I got some nice essence, soy candles, and soap for the home. Would definitely recommend as I like to call it "secret" in the wall because it doesn't look that way from outside. read more

I cannot speak highly enough about my experience at this amazing, black-owned establishment. My husband organized a Paint and Sip event for my 30th Birthday and we had an amazing time. Tree led us through our paintings. He was patient, understanding of my lack of artistic ability, and was very candid in sharing his story. Zambo Aroma stands out in the sea of nail salons, hair salons, barbershops and Jamaican restaurants that exist on EVERY block on the White Plains Rd Wakefield section in the Bronx. The aesthetics of the store is beautiful and spacious from the product packaging to the decor. The store smells heavenly of their natural handmade products from candles, soaps, body butter, sages, and lotions. I'm in love with their Rose Water Spritz, LaZar Body Butter, and the Naga Warrior soap. Their products are available to sample in the store with a purchase, they add a few soap samples in your bag. What's even more dope about this store is that Zambo Aroma host events such as sip and paint, for the public and for private events. I'm so happy to have a spot in the community hosting dope events and having natural & amazing smell good products that works! The owners are so hella cool and down to earth. What a gem in the neighborhood! Tree Alexander, the owner welcomes you with warm vibes and a warm smile as soon as you enter! I no longer need to drive to Brooklyn or Harlem to fulfill my needs for quality, hand made, natural essential oils, soaps, body butters, scrubs and more. Tree took his time to personally escort me around the time, point out the best uses for each product and ensure I was able to test each one. Plus, the price is "right"! You won't go broke here making sure you meet your health/beauty/mind needs. Zambo Aroma's mission is rooted self-care, and this idea has become more important than ever. 2020 has been ROUGH. Self-care is often framed as something that is cost prohibitive; only the wealthy can afford it. I love that Zambo Aroma's store is not only a physical reminder in our community to care for ourselves, but is also full of examples of how self-care doesn't require wealth. Just rethinking daily acts (like washing in the shower) can be nourishing to our spirits, if done with intention and care. I love that their soap selection is pretty diverse, so there's something for most people. There are juicy, sweet soaps like Mayan Rain and Zen Breeze that evoke fruits. There are spicy, resinous scents like Lost Gold and Asana Bright. You have straight forward soaps with little to no scent like Beauty Bar, Plain Jane and Forever Young. These last three are excellent if you have sensitive skin! The only small issue is that because these are handmade in small batches, your favorite soap may dip in and out of availability. My absolute favorite has been Pink Himalayan - a beautiful floral bar - and I'm hoping it makes a comeback. I also have an enormous tub of the Original Body Rub. I will probably never use all of it because a little REALLY goes a long way. If you have a big family, I think this would be excellent to have in the house. Shea butter, coconut and olive oils, with a little beeswax and citrus oils. It smells like a Creamsicle! I thought the beeswax would make this sit uncomfortably on top of my skin, but it forms an amazing protective barrier without feeling heavy. Love, love, love.
